"Wait your dad's name isn't John?" Derek looked at him confused
"Noah"
Derek made a face "Why did you say no like that?"
"What" Stiles finally gave Derek all his attention
"Why did you say no ahhh"
Stiles was laughing so hard he was doubled over with tears in his eyes
Once he could breath again he looked up at a very scowly Derek
"Holy shit dude that was the funniest shit I’ve ever heard"
"You'd think by now I'd be used to your weirdness and understand what is going on"
"My dad's name is Noah" he spelled it out "But when I was a kid I didn’t know that so when someone asked me I said John because it was the first thing that came to mind"
"But you still call him that"
"Yeah because my mom thought it was hilarious and also started calling him John so it kinda became a thing. We would both call him John and he would act all pissed off about it then we would all laugh”
Sometimes Stiles falls asleep with Derek when he's full shifted. Sometimes Derek lets his instincts take over, just a little. Then: LICK LICK LICK LICK. And Stiles gets a new hairdo
Derek heard Stiles' heartbeat quicken so he went to check on him, but when he got closer to the bathroom he heard what was really happening.
He resisted peaking through the crack in the door, instead listening to Stiles' breath hitch as the sound of water splashing echoed louder through the bathroom.

His name is Flash but I've always called him Bean which has turned into Beanjamin, Benjamin, Ben-jam, Benjamin Franklin (when he is in trouble), Mr. Bean, Meeester Bean, Meese, Bean-ween, Beanis, Beanis Weenis, Flash Flash 100 yard dash, Jimmy and probably something I'm forgetting.
"Derek, you seem sooo happy to see me.”
“Very funny, Stiles.” Derek sounds unamused.
Derek wants to be friends with no one, judging by the scowl that has been permanently carved on his face, but everybody wants to be friends with Derek. Because Derek is tall, muscular, criminally handsome, and most importantly he’s a Hale, the oldest werewolf family in this part of California.
And Stiles would love to say that he's different, that he’s not like the other boys, but even he had tried to befriend Derek, a long time ago. A long, looong time ago. For who could blame him? Derek Hale is perfect, except for the fact that he’s kind of an asshole.

Stiles and Derek meet a strangely familiar teen in the preserve.
This takes place the summer before Stiles, (18), starts college, and Eli, (almost 14), starts high school. There are some canon changes, which are explained in the story.
The Summer I Fell in Love by @ambear9 (E 9k)
Stiles was only a few months old when his mom took him to the Hale beach house that first summer, it was a tradition with her best friend Talia.
They grew up going there when they were kids and always talked about keeping that tradition when they had kids.
He was only a month old when Talia had Cora, thus the wedding of Stiles and Cora started to become a very popular topic. But when Stiles was 17 he realized there might be another Hale he wanted to marry.
I wrote this after watching the trailer for The Summer I Turned Pretty. no idea what the show is actually about.

Summer Contest by kits_lightning (E 18k) @the-fandom-life-for-me
The moment Derek stepped into the fighting ring and faced Stiles he remembered why he was doing all of this.
The omega gawked at him and barely paid attention to the other competitors Talia was mentioning and Derek smiled at the thought of having all of his attention. Stiles blushed from the tips of his ears to his neck and began to run his fingers through his hair while looking away.
Derek began to wonder how far down that blush traveled when he shook his head and tried to focus on the imminent battle. He caught the last of what his mother was saying. “—have a good fight and good luck.” More clapping and the horn that signaled the beginning of the fight sounded.

This was the first time that Derek had been forced to go along with the pack camping trip. And now that Laura had decided that Derek would have to share a tent with Stiles Stilinski, it was also going to be the last time. Of course it wouldn’t stop at just sharing a tent, would it? Air mattress, meet claws!
Camping & Bonding by Takara_Phoenix (M 11k) @takaraphoenix
Stiles thinks the pack should go camping, as a bonding exercise. Much to his surprise, Derek agrees with his plan. So the pack goes off into the mountains to camp together. Only after assigning the tents does Stiles question if it really was that good of an idea to share a tent with his Alpha, considering the giant crush he has on Derek…

The sun and sand, some tasty waves, and a salt-filled breeze are all Derek needs.
Somehow, Stiles works his way into the equation.
[excerpt]:
Stiles looks out toward the water. The sun's rays catch him at an angle that makes his eyes look golden, and Derek can see the individual grains of sand that dust his face.
"You know the worst thing about it all?" Stiles asks softly. "It's that I'm going to be known forever as the goofy sidekick on a kid's show. Like, that's my legacy."
Derek takes a deep breath. He can relate. He was once considered a prodigy in the surfing world: touted as the next Kelly Slater after he'd won several local competitions right out of high school and then the Billabong Pipeline Masters at twenty, followed by a second-place finish at qualifiers for the US Open of Surfing. The recognition was heady; the groupies and sponsors, more so. And then there was Kate, who had entered Derek's life as hot and quick as wildfire before razing his world to the ground.

our love is as boundless as the sea itself by EvanesDust, Winchesterek (E 83k) @evanesdust
\Derek tried not to stare, but Stiles was even more attractive up close—with lips that he absolutely shouldn’t want to kiss, considering they were strangers. He had to mentally shake the thoughts away because this wasn’t like him. He cleared his throat and nodded toward the trucks. “So, do you have experience with turtle rescue? We’re always looking for more volunteers.”
“Yeah, yeah. I used to help sometimes with my mom here when I was a kid, but I’ve been volunteering in New York for the past seven years.” Stiles rested his hands on his hips and glanced around the beach before his eyes returned to Derek.
“I’ve read one of your pamphlets though.” Stiles’ eyes trailed down and then up Derek’s body. “How many do you think are out here?”
Was he…? Derek paused, his thoughts momentarily scattered by Stiles’ blatant once-over. Usually, he didn’t care for attention like that, but Stiles’ gaze was oddly flattering. It was different somehow. Refreshing.
“We’re estimating hundreds,” he finally responded. “But we won’t have a clear idea until we’ve scoured the entire area. It’s going to be a long day. Think you’re up for it?”
Derek hoped he was.

'Til the landslide brought me down by Renmackree (E 33k) @renmackree
The Argents had decided to leave Beacon Hills after Gerard's death, which meant there was room for Derek to breathe for just a second and recover with his whole but still fractured Pack. They were one bad day from breaking again so Derek did the only thing he could think of to try and keep them together.
He took them to the cabin.
Or Derek and Stiles connect over the summer while Derek builds a Pack.
The Words Unspoken by @isthatbloodonhisshirt (G 10k)
“Okay, so here’s the thing. I’m going to tell you how this summer is going to go, and you’re not going to argue with me, right? Right. So!” He clapped his hands once behind Derek’s back, since his arms were still around his neck. “Lydia’s family bought a sort of like… I want to say cabin, but cabins are for the woods, so I guess a beach house would be more accurate. But anyway, it’s Lydia, so you know the place is extra, and she wanted to go hang out for a while to get away from the usual Beacon Hills craziness so we’re all heading up there for the summer. I’m thinking three, four weeks. Maybe longer, depends on when people have jobs lined up and whatnot. We leave in the morning, and don’t forget to pack your swimsuit. Or do, whichever, I won’t complain.” Stiles waggled his eyebrows suggestively, but Derek ignored that. He felt like all the oxygen had been sucked out of the loft and he was finding it hard to breathe.
They were going to a beach house, and would be staying there for a month, and Derek was supposed to be okay with that? No. Absolutely not. He would spend the whole time upset and nostalgic for a life he’d lost due to his own stupidity as a child.
“I’m not going.”
