This what s3 Aziraphale and Crowley were...
https://archiveofourown.org/works/88488936
This is so in char for the mess they wrote (and ooc for the rest of the franchise)
#I'm talkin bout innnn ittttt
I feel ashamed
That a tv show has affected (effected ?) me so deeply
Imagine if
The Harry potter films (which I have only watched one and only managed one book - but I hear they are pretty popular, AO3 seems to think so) went beyond the books and in the last film Harry and his pals got rid of magic and this ending ended up wiping out all the wizards and the magic folks (sorry dunno if the non humans had magic too). So basically Harry and co committed suicide. There would be an uproar, people would be freaking out. There would be so many warnings at the start of the film, so many bad reviews, parents would be going crazy as the kids of the world were traumatised.
Well that is what happened in GO3. And somehow we are meant to be ok with that.
(Oh I just looked up the ending to HP, it was a close thing wasn't it? BUT. BUT they knew their audience and did not do it)
And btw - Crowley hated the sad ones, remember that.
What makes me so sad about the finale is s3!Crowley really does think that Aziraphale having hope and optimism is stupid and pointless, and s3!Aziraphale really does want Crowley to be an angel. Both want the other to change so much that they wouldn't be the same angel/demon.
If all I had seen was the characterisation in s3, I wouldn't want them to end up together. In s1, they so clearly loved each other for who they were - flaws included. I miss that.
There is no way anyone can look at this expression, and say that this is the face of someone who wanted to give up his life for the âreal universeâ.
Like, I just canât stop thinking about the fact Aziraphale got coerced by God into commiting suicide.
This is a sad, needlesly cruel and tragic end to someone who lived in fear of a corrupted system his whole life. And to tell him at the end ,that there was no way you wouldâve let him have the love of the only person that ever truly mattered, and that you always saw him as less is so incredably bleak, and depressing.
What if there is no Book of Life?
Never has been.
Metatron just made that stuff up to scare the angels into behaving.
A fucking Thanos snap seems like a good idea right now
Crowley being Bildad the Shuhite is hilarious. How many other biblical characters were actually just this one bored demon?
Somewhere Anathema Device caught a glimpse of something in Agnes Nutterâs second book of prophecies, gasped, pulled it out of the fire, got Newt to drive at top speed down the M25 (somehow magically free) dashes into Soho, runs into the bookshop, slams the book down on the counter in front of Aziraphale and Crowley and screams
âDonât you two FUCKING dare!â
And leaves.
Several large coffees, bottles of wine and a pile of Eccles cakes and a very long reading and interpretation session later Crowley sits back.
âBeelzebub and Gabriel, huh? Did not see that coming.â
âNever mind that, dear,â Aziraphale says, as he continues carving symbols onto the floor. âThere. That should do it. The Metatron canât get in here now.â
âAnd you?â Crowley asks delicately. Aziraphale stands up and primly clasps his hands across his stomach.
âI have no intention of going up to heaven under any circumstances and especially not now I know how it ends.â He says. Itâs his I Will Not Be Moved tone. Crowley knows it well. He is reassured.
âWell, maybe pop up and get Muriel. But after that we seal up that lift, agreed?â Crowley adds.
âAgreed.â
âExcellent. Dinner at the Ritz called for I think, to celebrate a very lucky escape. Coming, Angel?â
âOne thingâŠâ Aziraphale says, and Crowley notices the cheeks of his Angel have gone a little pink, and he is turning that ring on his finger round and round. âProphecy number 547.â
â547? Was that the one with the butterflies the size of giraffes?â
âIt was not,â Aziraphale says.
Crowley takes a step closer. He always did enjoy this bit of the temptation, although he was not quite sure who was being tempted right now.
âAh, the one with the Welsh Choir serenading the Kraken with excerpts from popular musicals.â
âNo, not that one either.â Aziraphale appears to have flushed a deep red.
Crowley takes a step closer now. He can feel it - the tingle in his fingers and on his lips.
Thereâs another first time coming. To add to the Wall, and the Temptation of the Ox Ribs and the Rescue of the Books and all those other first times that have led them step by step to this place.
A first time they had in any timeline, but this would their first time - they, Aziraphale and Crowley in this world, their world.
âOh, I know, the one with the crystal the exact size and shape ofâŠâ
âCrowley!â Aziraphale snaps. âYou know which one I mean.â
âOh,â Crowley says softly. âThe one where I tell you thereâs an us.â
âThatâs the one,â Aziraphale says, glancing down at the ground. âOf course, if youâd rather not, I understand, itâs asking too much, itâsâŠâ
âAngel,â Crowley says, and he steps forward, taking off his glasses, and looks down at his angel, his enemy and ally, his closest friend. His love since he knew what love meant. âWe have always been an us. We donât need a prophecy for that.â
And Aziraphale, a soft and gentle angel, not a soldier or a leader, becomes a hero for that moment, and clasps Crowleyâs collar and pulls him in for a kiss.
It was a nice day. It would always be a nice day. There would always be a bookshop, and later a garden. Nightingales would always sing and there would be many many kisses to follow that first kiss.
I have now watched the finale of Good Omens aka GO3, 7 times.
Yeah, I know, God likes 7âs.
I also know, God is a bitch.
Writers of the finale of Good Omens in ANY capacity, this goes out to you;
Do you hate us that much? Do you completely despise us to the detriment even of profit?
David admitted he wasnât happy because Crowley was âevaporatedâ. Michael used the phrase âannihilatedâ.
And we, WE are devastated.
We know NG stalked this site, so to think that he isnât still doing that, I believe, is a wrong assumption.
If we have learned one thing about Neil, itâs all about control. (Call me Master) Control of the narrative. Itâs his decisions, actions, words that hold the weight.
What follows isnât by chance.
It isnât foretold.
It isnât fate.
Itâs because he has decided on how things will be.
When you look at what we know about his youth, being raised in Scientology, it isnât hard to imagine how this has shaped his world. His ideals. His beliefs in right and wrong.
I never thought much about his writings as more than just fiction until I truly began to drill down into them. It was then i realized that these stories were an insight into the way Neil thought, and reacted to his world.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane - âMy favorite response to this book is when people say âMy childhood was nothing like this- and it was as if I was reading about me.â
If you have read this book you realize the trama the boy went through.
Sandman - âBut where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the livingâŠfor the price of wisdom is above rubies.â Book of Job - Chapter 28, verses 12, 13, 18
The connection to Job in Neilâs work is interesting also. Who are you Neil? God or Job?
Corraline - The inference in this book are so sublime, but still there. A child that hates their life and their parents enough to wish for and receive change. Believing that change is good, only to find out you have walked into the wolves den.
As Garth told us long ago, âsome of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.â
Scientology has formed the misogynistic rhetoric that Neil lives, writes, and believes deeply in.
Do I think Good Omens 3 would have ended the same way if the accusations had not occurred? If the pedestal remained upright, spit-polished, and revered?
Absolutely. Fucking. Not.
Why? You ask?
Because a cliffhanger ending on S3 (after a full 6 episodes) would have led to S4. There is no way Neil would have walked away from that.
Iâm not talking about Neil wanting to please his âfans.â Iâm talking about the millions, possibly billions of dollars in revenue he and major corporations have lost because of his actions. The possibilities were endless for merchandising this.
Asa and Anthony, Iâm sure are lovely people that we all wish we could have in our livesâŠ..but we donât.
We have Our Ineffables. Our love for them is the messiest, silliest, most predictable thing in the Universe. And oh, how it makes Us smile.
But I digress.
These two would NEVER have voluntarily ended the others existence. Love always finds a way.
I have decided to channel my inner Aziraphale:
I forgive you.
Why? Because Iâm too old to carry a grudge. Iâm too old to dwell on something I have absolutely no control over.
Serenity - Courage - Wisdom
They are Ours. They always were. They always will be.
Youâre Not Their Dad.
First Kiss(es)
It's the wee hours of the morning, and Crowley simply needs to recount the best-day-of-his-life-so-far.
Part of an epistolary exchange. "You sat on the sofa. You patted the cushion beside you, but didnât press. I took my time, made a show of wandering the stacks, pretending to look for a mis-shelved first edition, until you said, âCrowley, please,â so quietly I nearly missed it. My name in your mouth does things to me that no one else has ever managed; I was helpless. I sat. Closer than was strictly decent. I tried not to let on that my knees were knocking. I tried not to let on that my throat was dry and my chest tight as a snare drum. You didnât seem to notice. Or maybe you did, and were busy with your own knots and wires."

You Go Too Fast For Me: Stop Telling Me To Chill Out About GO3.
cw: suicide
You know, Good Omens was an umbrella. It was a safe gathering space, a shelter and a haven for queer and traumatized and outcast folk for more than 30 years. Some of us are survivors of unspeakable horrors, and having to watch our comfort characters suicide onscreen with absolutely no warning, no toll free numbers and no consideration-- after a heavy barrage of seemingly intentional catfishing and misleading-to-outright-false advertisement from literally everyone involved in advance-- was simply devastating.
Coming up against smug, rude bullying, disdain and hate from long-beloved peers inside my own fandom for reacting emotionally to a trauma and continuing to struggle to reconcile the finale has been... fucking ass. Some of you are so nasty, so damn cruel. I'm thrilled it's just a show for you; my inbox is full of people who are having to go/back on psychiatric medications, triple booking therapy they can't afford, enduring fresh bouts of intrusive thoughts, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Several people I know vomited at the end of go3 and were unable to keep food down for days after. I cannot say it strongly enough. It was a savagely cruel thing to endure for many, including those who have experienced loss of loved ones from suicide, for example, like myself.
These fresh-- and old, retraumatized-- wounds require airing out, at a minimum. And sometimes that's uncomfortable for those around us, I know. But for Christ's sake, could you take a swing at a little empathy for us? Block the tags and let us grieve. We have been brutalized newly in a place we believed we were safe, where we had been actively promised and previously shown we were safe-- a place we trusted.
I'm sorry our agony isn't moving along fast enough for you. Personally, I have had three years of intensive healing torn out of me, and have thirty years of wasted love for my ineffables to grieve.
So, if you all don't mind, I'm going to be a goddamned minute.
I am one of those people who couldn't eat for about a week after the finale.
A week. I was just drinking milk because that was the only thing I could hold in.
I have a job, two side businesses, friends and family. I lived my life happily. I don't consider myself to be particularly fragile. I already lost some loved ones and dealt with it in quite a mature way.
But then this thing happened and no one could have prepared for that. No one.
I sincerely don't care at this point, if we are "casting a cloud over someone's joy with our negativity".
The result for you is just... less joy.
We, in the meantime, are in the fucking trenches, trying to put ourselves back together. We are grieving, we are at a funeral that none of us could have prepared for and you are telling us "but it's so beautiful, you're just stupid you cannot see it".
Our situations are NOT the same.
Someone mentioned that all the merchandise in the GO HQ was of dead characters and I had a realization
that raw self-examination wherein you realize that part of the reason Good Omens has so thoroughly reclaimed your soul is how desperately, how deeply, how viscerally you have needed - how for such a long, long time, you have needed - a story with a happy ending
no strings attached, no bittersweet victories, no happiness tempered by loss or uncertainty or ephemerality or complications or ârealismâ
just a story where people love each other and do, actually, get to live happily ever after
Well this didnât age well.
