Who has watched this on repeat like 20 times in a row or more because the look on Caleb's face is of the upmost absolute true emotion of love and utter devotion its positively captivating! Add the music and the beautiful Elizabet/Mina and the transformation from her in both life times as she walks slowly to her beloved..My heart can't handle the beauty of it and then you add the soul stirring angelic voice of Enya and some of the most memorizing music and it literally puts under a spell...You can't turn away. Everyone longs to have someone look at them the way he is looking at her but sadly in life few experience it. I am sooo beyond grateful to have known a love as grand as this, even after 25 years together...My husband still looks at me in way that makes my cheeks burn red, my soul ignite with fire, my stomach flip flop and a deep churning with in my soul..I feel cherished, beautiful, loved, revered, cared for, longed for, and bound by body, heart and soul to him and him to me...We knew the minute we laid eyes on another and then our first kiss that first fateful night sealed the deal. I knew I would never want or long for any other man, woman or person but the one standing before me. And he felt the same, We were married 6 weeks later, and despite 2 and half decades of being utterly inseparable (I can count on 1 hand the nights we have spent apart since we moved in together after dating for 4 weeks) We still fall more inlove every single day..Its amazing the capacity the heart has to grow..We are literally one person in everyway. And I know my sole purpose in life was this man and to experience a love of such a grand magnitide many could not even comprehend it....
Carol hesitates when replying. If there was absolutely no feelings, a person would reply simply with: "No, we're good friends though." But Carol hesitates and appears unsure.
Then Daryl says "Nope." in a very quick and abrupt way. He appears agitated/mad, and quickly walks away. This could be him dealing with his own feelings and unsurety.
Overall, when two people have genuine feelings for each other (which is unspoken) there is so much fear involved. Sometimes people can just blatantly deny their feelings because they are afraid.
If they didn't have feelings for each other, why do they act weird about it. Unless it's just bad writing/script.
If they zero feelings for each other they should have had Carol snort and laugh in her face and be like me and him??! Naaa nope we are just friends that would never work, and have Daryl be like yup and laugh..Not have Carol fumble her words and do her adorable litttle nose scrunch thing when she is hiding something and Daryl straight up WAITED to hear what Carol would explain and then clearly wasn’t happy.. he could of easily smiled and laughed and said Naaww that’s my best friend in the whole world nothing more things are just right like they are with a proud smile…but not A SHORT NOPE with one deep stare at Carol like thanks for reminding me you don’t want me and he runs away to cry while he stares at the ocean
I know it's been a chaotic weekend for Daryl and Carol fans and I know that there's a lot of dread surrounding the likelihood of a bad ending whether that means Caryl going their separate ways, one of them getting left behind, or one or both of them having random love interests. The male EPs have made it very clear that they have no intention of honoring the characters or their bond, so unfortunately, yes, I do think it's a good idea to expect pretty much anything.
The thing is though, while the male EPs may have the power to put their offensive headcanons on screen, that doesn't mean we have to make them our canon too. Fans do not, for any reason, have to torture themselves watching something that hurts them. That is exactly what the guys are counting on, so why give them the satisfaction? If the show is already canceled, why does it matter if it gets low ratings? I've said this before and I'll say it again. Rejecting this spinoff will do no harm to Melissa's career or Carol's legacy or Caryl's chances of future stories. You know what causes harm? Other EPs sidelining Melissa, talking over her, not listening to her input, trying to intimidate her, trying to throw her under the bus, leaving Carol out of the title, writing her from a misogynistic perspective, and constantly insulting her fans. That behavior deserves cancellation a thousand times over.
With the end of the European travesty comes opportunities for a major reset. A new showrunner. A new title. A new show that blows this one out of the water. The messaging throughout SDCC has been very specific, suggesting that while S4 will close out Caryl's story in Europe, AMC is open to investing in future projects for them, whether or not they already have something in the works. Personally, I remain hopeful that we'll see Daryl and Carol again and that their new journey will honor the flagship show. The Daryl Dixon show can be buried deep in the woods for all I care.
Supporting Melissa, Carol, and Caryl in the meantime doesn't have to cost us our mental health. We can talk about the impact that they’ve had on us over the years, break down our favorite scenes, and celebrate the things that made us love them in the flagship show. No matter what happens, nobody can take Caryl away from us.
I don't understand why people continue to support this nonsense. Why watch something that upsets you? You can still support Mel without watching or supporting the show. Post under her tag or Carol tag, not the show's, post support for her only, don't give the show ratings, don't comment on any official sm accounts. They've already come out and said they don't write the show for the fans which means Caryl fans. Zabel has already said he's not making Caryl romantic. Why do people continue to think something will happen between them when zabel has said with his own voice and plainly spoken words he's not going there? I for one REFUSE to give them the satisfaction. Zero ratings or engagement from me.
The Caryl fandom, age 11, passed away November 21, 2022 from complications of AMC’s incompetence in telling a coherent, consistent story for its two lead characters. Survivors include: worldwide diehard Caryl fans, makers of Caryl fan art, and superb fanfiction writers. Caryl was born November 6, 2011 with the “Cherokee Rose” episode. It continued in that vein through several seasons until complications set in with season 9. It was left untreated and succumbed with the final episode, aptly titled “Rest in Peace”.
I would say Daryl was in his thirties when the apocalypse happened then Merle who was older in his forties??? Rick Grimes and Lori are in their thirties. I think that was the age range for them. Daryl saying he was young sounds.... like it has different meanings as thirties isn't old old but it's not young young. Young usually constitutes child to twenties for me. I don't know if they're actually retconning Daryl age because let's be honest NR is obviously a certain age so it would be crazy but again wouldn't put it past them. It might just be an example of further excruciatingly bad writing and expression. I guess time will tell. But if they suddenly are rewriting Daryl's age then I'm gone because that's ridiculous
It’s common for actors to play younger than their real age and maybe that’s the case here. I personally find it more believable—and frankly more compelling as a story—that both Daryl and Carol were in their 40’s at the start of the ZA. In any case, we know that Daryl was emotionally immature due to a life of trauma (When an adult’s trauma is triggered, it brings them back to the age they were at the time of the initial incident). We know that there’s a conversation in Consumed where Carol brings up Daryl’s behavior. We can even argue that some of Daryl’s story reflects certain themes of Bildungsroman, but there are also many elements that resonate with adults, specifically adults struggling to heal from abuse years after the fact, such as the many instances we see Daryl trying to be a good parent/role model to kids despite never getting that himself when he was their age and the way he’s able to establish a mature bond with one woman instead of being promiscuous. It’s the combination of Daryl reaching emotional maturity, dealing with his trauma, and learning to form deep relationships at the midpoint of his life that makes his story unique. That’s why so many people rooted for him.
Now if we’re analyzing the spinoff, we unfortunately have to use what Norman is saying in interviews as context because, clearly, he’s the one with the keys to this entire operation (🤨). Norman frames the spinoff as a literal coming of age story about a “young adult,” which usually implies 18-20 something, who never got the chance to be a young adult because he was always “running and fighting” but now he finally has a chance to grow up and think about what he wants for his future. He’s erasing the role that Daryl’s abuse plays and he’s erasing the emotional growth we’ve already seen in the flagship show. His arc is strongly tied to a woman who is played by an actress in her early 30’s though she looks younger, so that’s his cohort, not Carol. The voiceover of Daryl saying he was “pretty young” when everything started without any other context is deliberate. It helps attract male viewers in their 30’s or younger who can resonate with a story about “young” Daryl doing cool things and hanging out with women they’d be attracted to. Or at least, that’s the goal, but frankly it reads more like a midlife crisis, so I wish them luck with that 🥴 While I don’t expect anyone to explicitly say that Daryl is 30 in S3, all the evidence points to an age regression and that to me is unwatchable. It’s not Daryl.
As a side note, since we’re talking about age, I think it would be good to remind people how much stigma comes with age, especially in the entertainment industry, and it affects both men and women. While it’s important to call out the problems of projecting that struggle onto a beloved character and while it’s okay to be angry about it (I definitely am), I would still very much like to treat any discussions about an actor’s age with sensitivity. The simple fact of Norman being middle-aged is *far* from the issue at hand. Thank you to all future anons for helping me make that clear 🙏
Who is the young woman he will be having lots of screen time with in the new season and what spoilers have come out regarding that? And were the fuck is Carol while this is going down 🤨🤦🏻♀️
I have posted this like 200 tilmes but every single time it comes up on my YouTube home screen, I CAN'T not watch it 🙁 and then it hits me in the feels soooo damn hard. Every Caryl fan needs to watch it once..Don't think their is a better caryl fanmade video. You would think they were written for the scenes...Ohh these two will never not overwhelm me with such passion and love. Best couple ever to be portrayed on TV, who hasn't gone Canon 🤦🏻♀️😞...I have stuck threw for 12 very long years that's a long damn time when I think of all that's happened. But I am still here like Capt Jack Sparrow steering the Black Caryl ship, refusing to give up my search of the ultimate treasure, CARYL CANON GOLD 🏴☠🏴☠🦜. And if its lost for good, then I will go down with this ship!! You can find me in Davey Jones Locker, Having a whiskey with all the other sad non canon relationships....
Don't you know I'm no good for you?
I've learned to lose you, can't afford to
Tore my shirt to stop you bleedin'
But nothin' ever stops you leavin'
Quiet when I'm comin' home and I'm on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
Don't you know too much already?
I'll only hurt you if you let me
Call me friend but keep me closer (call me back)
And I'll call you when the party's over
Quiet when I'm comin' home and I'm on my own
And I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
Yeah, I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
But nothin' is better sometimes
Once we've both said our goodbyes
Let's just let it go
Let me let you go
Quiet when I'm comin' home and I'm on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
My favorite fan made video of Caryl has disappeared this song is sooo perfect the lyrics line up so beautiful for there arc in season 5-8 Someone of ladies with your mad skills need to made another one pretty please ☹️
The truth is that I watched twd like a normal human for 9 whole seasons before I became a fan and before I was obsessed with carol. And whenever I used to think about twd after long periods of forgetting it existed, do you know which character's face came to my mind first? Do you know which character I took conscious notice of in posters of later seasons when thinking how much the show had developed and how much time had probably passed since I last watched it?
It was carol.
When I was in my FearTWD era for years, do you know which character I thought of first when I remembered the flagship show existed?
It was carol peletier.
I know I know, Rick was the main character. And Daryl was literallyyyyy my favourite character for the longest chunk of the show. But in my subconscious, Carol was still the face of The Walking Dead for me.
That woman is a force of nature.
She carried the whole TWD universe when it couldn't carry itself.
She can have gray hair and wear men’s shirts and still be sexy. She can make the same tough decisions that men make, make the same mistakes that men make, and still be attractive.
Carol is nuanced. She’s strong, she’s sexy, she’s dangerous, she’s emotional, she’s powerful, she’s feminine, she’s scary, she’s beautiful.
Carol is a hero heroine. That’s how she should be treated, written, and talked about ❤️🌸🔪
I just saw the scene where Carol gives Daryl his crossbow. He is the most dismissive of her and what she's done for him as I've ever seen. I can't do it guys. I can't watch Carol be treated like she's nothing to Daryl anymore and like what she did to find him wasn't monumental. Our Daryl is gone. There's no coming back from this. They can't have him sometime down the road realize and actually be thankful for her flying across the ocean for him. The impact is gone. He acts like what she went through to get to him is no different than her crossing the street. I am shaking I'm so mad. Reedus and Zabel can have this new Daryl and stick him up their asses. I'm fucking done.
🙁it broke my heart like dude this woman not only has your motorcycle stashed for when you get home, she has HIS CROSSBOW, THE ONE THING HE CHERISHES MORE THEN ANYTHING ELSE!! And has saved all their lives times 10...I thought when he saw that she got it back for him and not just showing up half way across the world and was able to find him and to save his life but she had his most precious item. From before the outbreak, a connection to his brother and to so many in the group who have died...Just like when she saved them in Terminus she put life and limb to make sure he got it back. It legit brings tears to my eyes how that fool cannot see how much she loves him I will never ever understand 😑But yea I thought the same thing that when he saw the crossbow and HER it would literally bring him to his knees..
Melissa looks amazing in the black outfit and long grey wool duster coat 😍 She is beautiful! And such a badass, change that outfit to leather or pvc and she would hands down look like Trinity for m The Matrix, another bad ass woman who is not stereotypical beautiful but is gorgeous in my eyes
And everything is right with the world again. So now that y'all seen the reunion, we can finally talk about it.
There's something primal, raw and heart-wrecking about the way Daryl just stops cause he cannot believe his eyes, drops his weapons, fuck it, he doesn't need anything, except to run to that one person who means everything to him - Carol. Thanks Norman for letting us know, this is exactly how you meant to play it.
It may or may not get long, so more spoilers after the jump...
That reunion scene is everything to me, and tbh at first, I was emotional but thought there was something missing and it hadn't topped the Terminus reunion for me, BUT after watching it a few more times, and in context, I really can't pick which one is my fav. I just can't. I can't even explain it, but there's something so real and palpable about it, that I didn't quite feel with the Terminus one. I guess this one was more serious, more emotional, deeper somehow... I'll be going around in circles and still powerless to translate my feelings into words. So BOTH, I'll pick BOTH. BOTH IS GOOD.
With the reunion out of the way, I feel like Daryl is constantly trying to make Carol understand he did not give up on going home, while Carol is confused and wondering what the heck happened for him to have created that connection with the people in France (Isa and Laurent) in such a short period of time.
Daryl tries to explain, he sounds downright apologetic to her. He says stuff like he didn't mean to care so much, he kept trying to get home to HER, things just happened when he and Isa just tried to help each other with Laurent's acting as the glue that held them together. That is all too familiar for Carol because that's how she ended up married to Zeke. But the way Daryl is trying to explain things doesn't sound at all like he's telling his best friend he fell in love, it feels like a cheating husband apologizing to his wife for his transgressions. I'm not saying Daryl betrayed Carol - HE DID NOT. However, the way he is acting is as if he is guilty, so what I think is that Daryl realized he's betraying his own feelings, and that's why he needs to explain it to Carol. Obviously, it all goes over her head since she states Daryl loved Isa, to which he stays absolutely quiet, just looking at her, and giving her the silliest little smirk ever. LIKE this woman is completely oblivious to what he is trying to convey. And it's so hilariously infuriating Carol of her to do that.
ANYWAYS, all the foreshadowing with Didi and Theo, how they found each other late in life, and are currently living happily together (not married!), just the two of them, living for each other. It's beautiful, it's romantic, and I believe it's exactly the type of happy ending EP's Norman and Melissa have in mind for Carol and Daryl's endgame. No matter who they are to each other, romantic or not, this is how they find happiness.
AND FINALLY. There's time for Carol and Daryl to make small talk, and they instantly fall back to that comfortable back and forth. It only feels different because the Carol and Daryl we used to know could not afford the time to just talk about wants, needs, school and traveling the world while on the main show. Now, they can just be themselves, have much more room to talk, talk about meaningless stuff that show us a bit more of who they are. And that's wonderful to me.
Smh how much more clear does he have to be Carol?! This man lovesssss you! The fact he feels the need to tell her not once but 3 times that he and Isabelle romance was not all that and he was always coming home to her, says everything. But it turned into the same thing Carol did with Ezekiel and and his son..Carol had zero intention in pursuing a relationship with Zeke despite his desperate attempts. But her being forever a mom to those in need, loved Henry and that was what how she end up being with Zeke. The second Henry was gone she instantly left and came home to Daryl...It's a perfect parallel, and not once has Daryl said he loved Isabella. When she told him straight up, it was crickets he didnt say a damn thing back. Then when Laurent told him Isabella loved him he didn't say anything like Oh I loved her too..And finally when Carol states straight up that he loved Isabelle, the look on his face is so sad. He looks so perplexed and at a loss, like how can she not know after all this time she is the one he loves. He straight flat out toward her he loved HER and he never had or since said those words to anyone not even the Grimes kids who he loves like his own and help raise....I hate to reinvest myself in this show after 14 long miserable years of being jerked around. But instead of living on Caryl scraps having one or two interactions a episode to get by but even if it's 5 mins there chemistry is so off the charts you can't help but get reinvested. So knowing we are having a ENTIIRE 6 EPISODE SEASON 6 HOURS OF A CARYL FEAST!!!Man oh man I can't not watch that..Especially with them having conversations lile these that show small growth for once..No kids to watch, no one lost to fine, no community to rebuild, no war to fight. Just them away from everything living lfe and hopefully finally dealing with all they have buried down.
This just broke my heart and the sadness in Carol voice when She stated to him that he was inlove with Isabelle 😞 And he just looks at her like woman dont you get it? I love you...
If I see one more “they’re platonic soulmates 🥹🥰” comment on a tagged Caryl post I’m gonna go Carol on these mfs.
If you don’t ship it move on. Creeps. Only thing worse is when they follow up with “she’s like his mother. They have a mother-son relationship.” Wtf show are you watching?! They’re the same age??? Carol has adopted many children. None of them were a middle aged man named Daryl who she flirts with a dreams about being married too.
Hopelessly, I'll love you endlessly... @amberendlessly - Tumblr Blog | Tumgag
