"He has one shot to turn things around", do you mean S4? Because as far as we know, most of the script has already been written, minus the finale. But those recent interviews happened while they knew how it will end.

Norman already said multiple times how he wanted Daryl to end and basically, he already did it in the S11 finale. The only thing im interested in is, will they kill off Carol or separate them?

If they kill off Carol, no one will talk about Daryl besides grieving her but not as a stand alone, last man standing. Let's be honest, even if they try spin the narrative in articles afterwards, Carol will still be talked about more. BUT how could they get rid of Carol otherwise?

Do you think AMC would step in? Do you think they would advertise him after the numbers the SO did? Does he still have a say if they do a reunion show? What about Melissa?

I firmly believe they only brought her back because of the backlash and they treated her like that. Would AMC use her character to pull former Carylers back or do you think they would try to support other characters. (Even if they didn't support her in her "own" SO)

No, I don’t mean S4. It’s been made very clear that there will be absolutely nothing for fans to enjoy in S4. AMC has suggested multiple times that they want Daryl’s and Carol’s stories to continue, so it’s highly unlikely that either character will die, but that’s a cold comfort because everything else is fair game, including separating them. My advice is, don’t put yourself through the pain of watching that.

I’m aware that there is another show on the table specifically for Daryl and Carol, so that’s what I meant about turning things around. I don’t know if it’ll come to fruition, but that’s where I’m placing my hope in the meantime.

I was getting seriously pissed off by season 3 (I finished episode 3 last night). To self-soothe, I decided to work with Google Gemini on these photos instead.

It helped a little bit to keep the anger at bay. Regardless though, my thoughts are the same: Screw you, AMC.

We could also talk about the mythical implications of Shiva (the Destroyer) as related to Carol's arc. We could talk about how Carol unapologetically turns away a bunch of people right before Daryl shows up. And how, when he does, her resolve instantly crumbles and there's absolutely no question that he'll gain entry to her cage/sanctuary. We could talk about Morgan noting how good Daryl is with Shiva (as he is with Carol). And we should probably mention the smile on Daryl's face when he exits after having a candlelit dinner with his beloved bestie.

(That's about as smiley and giddy as Daryl gets....until he realises, she isn't following him).

I rest my case.

The Caryl fandom, age 11, passed away November 21, 2022 from complications of AMC’s incompetence in telling a coherent, consistent story for its two lead characters. Survivors include: worldwide diehard Caryl fans, makers of Caryl fan art, and superb fanfiction writers. Caryl was born November 6, 2011 with the “Cherokee Rose” episode. It continued in that vein through several seasons until complications set in with season 9. It was left untreated and succumbed with the final episode, aptly titled “Rest in Peace”.

Happy 11th birthday, Nine Lives!

Nine Lives was created at the start of 2014 as a safe-haven for Caryl fans to find fantastic fanfiction.

When Nine Lives was first conceived, the Caryl fandom had been on the go for over two years, growing with each passing season of The Walking Dead, and moments of deliciousness between Daryl and Carol. However, the infamous "slow-burn" of their relationship was driving many to frustration and people sought out the comfort of fanfiction to fill in the blanks or advance the story at a faster pace.

As the amount of readers and writers grew, so did the desire to have a Caryl-only spot to read these glorious texts. This was especially true as other ships started to arise in the fandom; ships that a Caryl fan may accidentally stumble on whilst reading what they thought, or hoped, was a Caryl fic. Things got heated and many started to become discouraged. It was in order to prevent this happening, and to create a community and haven for the Caryl fans, that Megan (Ravenesque, formerly Peta2), Fairies Masquerade and Atoizzard got together to create Nine Lives. Thanks to Megan's experience and influence in the Spuffy fandom, Susan from the Spuffy Archive Elysian Fields kindly agreed to host Nine Lives on their server.

So in January 2014, Nine Lives went live.

In the years since Nine Lives opened, it has grown tremendously and changed a lot. However, one thing remains the same and that is the ethos behind the site. Nine Lives is the place where Caryl fans can come to enjoy (or post) the best that Caryl and McReedus fanfiction has to offer. It is a community where readers and writers are here to support and encourage their fellow Carylers, and help us all get the best experience out of this ride we call fandom. Be it multi-chapter AUs, fluffy drabbles, angsty post-episode fics or wild and crazy smut, here your every desire for Caryl (and McReedus) can be explored and delighted in with like-minded fans.

Nine Lives is the best. It's so user friendly. I have a hard time finding Caryl fics on the other sites. I also love not having to wade through other ships to find Caryl. Thanks to all who make this possible, and thanks to all the Caryl fanfic writers. We have the most talented writers of any fandom hands down.
