the sink is falling off the wall;
i’m falling apart,
i guess it’s nice to know i’m in good company.
her absence eats at me like the moths that eat my clothes;
but she was never mine to begin with.
i try to drown my sorrows in the shower
but it seems they’ve learned to swim,
either that or they’re climbing my hair that gets stuck in the plughole.
i try to sleep it all away
but i wake myself up screaming her name;
from the moment she left my dreams haven’t been the same.
she took me, transformed me, then left me all alone,
now i search for a comfort i wish i’d never known,
i search for someone or something to call home.
i wish it didn’t come back in flashes,
i wish i knew what i needed.
i wish i hadn’t gotten so damn good at one sided love. ~a.j.
