I decided to come up with my personal HCs for what A-Levels all the hoa characters would take if, hypothetically, they went to a typical UK college. (If you dont know A Levels are basically qualifications you get in three subjects of your choosing at college that ultimately guide you to uni, apprenticeships etc. you can pick any of the options but typically you wanna go for something related to your dream career. You can also do BTECs or Vocationals where you do one course instead of three subjects and i will tell you which ones those are in this post!!)

“Would you slow down?” Patricia complained from behind him for the second time.
Eddie turned to look at her, still walking backwards. She was sweating, and had taken off her leather jacket to tie it around her waist. “Sorry, sorry. It’s just a little further I promise.” Patricia’s annoyed look was about as charming as the first time he’d seen it, when he was once passed out on the sofa in the drama department at Anubis.
“You know Eddie, normally when you plan on making someone walk up a mountain, you tell them to wear appropriate clothes.” Patricia added, but she caught up to him, and the two continued to walk the trail side by side.
“It’s not up a mountain, it’s just a little hike.” Eddie corrected with an amused smile. “Seriously the view is to die for.”
“Oh good.” Patricia said flatly. “When we get to the top, I’ll push you off, and you can look at the pretty view on the way down.”
Eddie laughed. “You’ll forgive me.” He said. “Once we get up there. We’re only about two minutes away.”
“You said that eight minutes ago!” Patricia complained.
“Well in my defense, normally I’d be at the top by now.” Eddie said, and Patricia lightly smacked him on the shoulder. He held up his hands in mock surrender. “Sorry! I promise you get to pick the next date. We can go to a rock concert, or an abstract art museum, or whatever you want.”
That seemed to placate her, because she was silent for the next minute. Birds chirped from the trees, and there was the faint sound of wind moving through the leaves.
“I can’t believe you don’t like hiking.” Eddie commented. “Seriously, I swear I thought this would be a slam dunk. We used to hang out in the woods all the time at Anubis, it was our place.”
“The old willow tree is a lot different from an uphill walk for almost an hour.” Patricia panted. “Especially wearing leather and long pants.”
“You’ll forgive me.” Eddie repeated with a growing smile. “We’re here.”
The view really was gorgeous. The vast spread of trees all around them, the even taller mountain in the distance, the wide lake at the bottom.
“Okay. I’m impressed.” Patricia admitted. “This is pretty. And almost worth it.”
“Patricia.” Eddie said from behind her. Patricia turned. Eddie was kneeling on the ground, a small box in his hands. “Patricia Maria Williamson-”
“Eddie you asshole!” Patricia exclaimed. Eddie laughed, opening the box to reveal a ring with a dark gemstone. “Eddie you absolute asshole are you serious?!”
“Patricia, will you marry me?” Eddie questioned.
“You’re such a jerk!” She continued. “Oh my God. You made me walk up a mountain and complain the whole time-you asshole of course I’ll marry you.”
“Only you could accept a proposal by calling me an asshole three times.” Eddie laughed again, taking the ring from the box and slipping it onto Patricia’s finger. Against all her other rings, the gemstone seemed to stand out even more.
“It’s so pretty.” Patricia said, twisting the ring a little as she admired it. “I can’t believe you Eddie.”
“Okay, you can push me off now.” Eddie smiled charmingly. Patricia kneeled down and pulled him in for a kiss.
“You really are a jerk.” She repeated again as she pulled away. “A massive one. And I will get you back for this.”
“I’d expect no less from you Yacker.” Eddie promised. “I’m sure you’ll make me live to rue the day I proposed.”
“I will.” Patricia said firmly. “You’re stuck with me now, slimeball.” And she pulled him in to kiss him again.
Summoned my British moots with a single post about GCSE drama, I love you guys so much 😭 anyway one like and ill post my production photos on my main bc I miss playing Linda every day for several weeks, and I love that musical with my whole heart
Just finished up the run of a production of Blood Brothers, which if you didn’t know is a big effin’ deal in England to the point where it’s studied pretty much all the time in the drama GCSEs (or so I’m told by various British people), so without further ado, here is how I’d cast the Anubis House students if they actually followed British schooling accurately in the show and studied this play instead of writing their wack little call-out plays every other year.
I’ll do the S1 cast lineup first and then the S3 lineup, since those are the only years they ever mention theater. Also only casting Anubis kids since the show ignores anyone not in Anubis House anyway lol:
Season 1 GCSE Blood Brothers cast:
Mrs. Johnstone: Probably Nina, since this is the lead female role, but idk how good of a singer Nina is in canon (I’m guessing not very good since they didn’t make the S1 play a musical like they did in the other two versions of the show lol). She could bring the emotional punch to it tho I have faith in her. The accent would be HORRIBLE tho
Mrs. Lyons: Mara would bodyyy this role. Not sure if she’s got a high enough voice, but she’s such a good singer and we know she can act completely unhinged, which this character calls for. A duet between her and Nina for “My Child” would be lovely
Eddie: Fabian would be such a cute nerdy little Eddie Lyons, I can already see it so clearly in my mind. And he would really shoulder the tragic elements well later on too. Ignore that Nina would be playing his mother lol
Mickey: Alfie would eat this role up in S1, especially when he’s supposed to be a little kid. It wouldn’t really work for the fact that he’s supposed to be a twin and doesn’t look anything like Fabian
Sammy: Mick, obviously.
Linda: Amber would be very cute as Linda. I think she could pull off the rough and tumble nature of the 7 year old, and also the sweetness of her older self. The dynamic with Mrs. Johnstone would be very sweet between Nina and Amber too.
Narrator and/or Mr. Lyons: Jerome. I originally had him as Sammy, but I don’t think Mick could pull off the returned of the Narrator. Jerome would be a fabulous Mr. Lyons tho
Season 3 Cast lineup:
Mrs. Johnstone: KT would CRUSH this role idc. Especially if they were putting this play on with the same outside circumstances, she would put her heart and soul into “Easy Terms”, I just know it.
Mrs. Lyons: Still Mara, for all the same reasons as above. For the drama I’d have put Patricia, but we know that girl can’t sing 😭
Mickey: Eddie would be an excellent Mickey, and I think he’d really relate to the overall arc of the character.
Eddie: Still Fabian. See above. He would be genuinely so perfect ugh I wanna see Brad in this role someday. Might be too old now
Sammy/Mr. Lyons: Jerome. Now that Mick’s gone, he’d be great as Sammy. I’d still keep him as Mr. Lyons tho so he’s getting double cast. He’d do such a good rendition of “Miss Jones”
Linda: Patricia. She would be such an excellent Linda, especially when she’s playing her as a child in act 1. Sharp shooter, protective, funny as hell. And when she’s older with the whole love triangle arc between the twins, her face off with Mickey over his addiction, the affair… devastating, especially in the context of Season 3
Narrator: ALFIE!! He’d do such a good job, I trust him as the Narrator.

I actually did like it! I don’t know that it’s my fav album of hers ever, but it’s not my least fav. I think a few songs def fit the vibes of the characters, and I’ll do a little list here:
The Fate of Ophelia - Lowkey a very Peddie and/or Jeroy based song. They’re the only couples where both members of each pair were in a way “saved” by the other
Opalite - The song feels very Willow (and Alfie) coded. Like the joyful/upbeat nature of the song, talking about a love you had to find while dealing with life’s struggles
Elizabeth Taylor - Dare I say this is in many ways, Nina, Fabian, and Joy coded, but separately? Like not their specific love triangle arc but each of their stories individually.
Father Figure - SARAH!!! The bridge into the final chorus is her getting the last laugh on Victor/Rufus by having “the place surrounded” by Sibuna. She protected her family!
Eldest Daughter - kinda all of them and kinda none of them. Maybe Patricia? Maybe Nina? KT? Like I said, the song is so weirdly specific and also super vague it’s hard to relate the whole thing to any of them.
Ruin the Friendship - Fabina. Kinda no other answer.
Actually Romantic - Now, THIS is the Jabina love triangle song. Also maybe the Mara/Mick/Amber plotline. No notes. (#teamtaylor btw)
Wi$h Li$t - I honestly don’t know bc this song is lowkey a skip for me, but I guess maybe Jerome realizing he wants love and connection more than wealth and glory? Or maybe Patricia realizing she’s allowed to want a less tumultuous life while still being a cool badass. It can’t be Amber, because she went with the opposite of this song lol
Wood - Jeroy again. Sorry for that mental image
CANCELLED! - lowkey all of them again LOL. But kinda very much Joy and Mara, especially the bridge into the final chorus/outro. And I suppose the Sinner plotline too, but that’s more for a cool edit concept than the song actually fitting it.
Honey - Joy? Nina? Again this is a lowkey skip for me 😭
The Life of a Showgirl - Nina and Eddie, I think is the closest we can get to the overall message of the song
