Easy Witchy Things to do
-Spelled bath salts in your night bath to lift mental and physical exhaustion of the day. I recommend a recipe with frankincense, geranium and rosemary in it as they aid in purification of body, spirit and soul but you can customize for your needs. You can do SOOOOO many things in the bath. Imma do another post on this.
-Rose hip tea before bed to bring prophetic dreams.
-Rosemary/athame placed beneath the pillow to protect from nightmares and psychic attacks.
-Incense of lavender. Or a candle dressed in lavender oil. Or lavender fragrance oil on your pulse points. Whatever is more feasible to you. Lavender, promotes peaceful sleep.
-Keep a dream journal. Meditate for a few as soon as you wake up and record everything you recall in the journal for reflection.
-Do a card pull for the day ahead. Tarot or oracle. Your choice.
-Brew tea in the morning. I like green tea. Its simple. Its available. Most importantly, its cheap.
-The house you live in is an entity too. Clean it up a little. It can be something as simple as vacuuming, floorwash, dusting windows, changing curtains, letting in some sun, hanging wind chimes, vastu or feng shui, sprinkling infused water, smudging…..you get it.
-Water your plants. Talk to them. Sing to them. See if anyone is sick and needs attention. Plants like that. Bond with your plants and they will aid you more.
-I like to shower in the morning (I’m Indian and terrified of my mother. Also. Hygiene.) Visualize the water infusing you with its flow and clarity to help you flow and be clearheaded throughout the day.
-Eat breakfast with intention. You are what you eat. Do not put trash in your tummy. It messes with your frequency. I like to stick to apples and milk/coffee.
-Wear clothes with intention too. Colors are a massive force in our lives and aid in our purpose. Wear red for passion, confidence, sensuality and resoluteness. I like to wear at least one red item everyday.
-Nail polish, if that’s something you’re into. You can incorporate color magic by doing this too if you do not wish to wear colored attire or if its not your style.
-Put a fragrance oil/itr (pronounce:EEH-tr) on you with. I like to put jasmine on me. It corresponds with divination, sensuality, confidence and luxury.
-Jewellery. Period. Rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, anklets…intention people. Intention is your best friend. For my broom-closeted witches, this is an excellent way to mask your crystals in plain sight. Crystals are pretty and jewellery goes unsuspected. Amethyst ring? Lapis studs? Pearl bracelet? Obsidian pendant? Crystal magic!!!
-Enchant your makeup if you use any.
-Put pre-energized yantras/glyphs on the inside of your laptop bag/school bag/work bag to promote clarity and fluidity in work.
-Enchant your pens/brushes/pencils/tools of trade for productivity and efficiency.
-Carry snacks with you. Dried drupes, berries and fruits are fulfilling and keep you in touch with earth. Also, cuz they’re snacks.
-Eat your food.
-When you get back home, shed you’re clothing and visualize all the weight of the day going with it.
-I like to have a post-work day shower too. Again, visualize the water carrying away your woes with it.
-Brew your post-work tea. Chai is a very good option. I brew it in milk and add a host of powders/roots to it. Nutmeg, cinnamon, mace, grated ginger and cardamom are my favorites in any season. They promote positivity, good energy, relaxation, healing and peace.
-Listen to your favorite music.
-Do something artistic. Maybe paint, sculpt, write, sing out loud, freestyle….whatever you like.
-Read and research. I like to update by grimoire everyday. I, like many other witches, believe that my grimoire is a living entity and needs attention in order to flourish. You don’t have to do a lot. Just research for a couple minutes and write down your notes in it. It don’t have to be fancy.
-Bathe
-Tea! Again!
-Incense
-Sleep my little birdie.

Basic Tools of the Craft
There are tools that are essential to every religion. And they are usually ceremonial tools that aid in a practitioner’s spiritual journey. Buddhists have their bells, while Christians have their cross. While not a requirement to each one practicing a religion, having the tools strengthen your dedication.
Witchcraft has a wide range of tools, and most are usually those that are placed on an altar, and each almost always represents an element.
What you decide to procure will really depend on your beliefs and what you are comfortable with. It is also important to know that your tools should be treated with respect and reverence since each represents a divine element.
Here are just some of the tools a witch could have at his or her person or altar:
THE ATHAME An Athame is a dagger traditionally with a black handle that is used to cast a circle. It should never be used for cutting or to cause physical harm. The athame represents masculine energy and the element of fire.
THE CHALICE The chalice witches use can come in a goblet styles, or simply any mug and cup, and is used to hold water or wine, which is to be drank after a ritual. The chalice on your altar also represents the element of water.
THE WAND The wand that you use can come in any material that you feel a connection to: wood, bone, or metal. A witch’s wand is very personal, so much so that many Wiccans prefer to fashion themselves their own wand that suits their taste and represents their personality or character. Another option is to buy a Magic Wand. The wand is used to direct energies during a ritual, and represents the element of air.
THE PENTACLE The pentacle is a very powerful and protective symbol in Wicca. On an altar, it can come in the form of either a pendant or a platen. The pentacle represents earth, and is used to cleanse yourself, your surroundings, and all other items on your altar.
You can also use a Pentacle necklace on your altar.
THE CAULDRON Like the chalice, the cauldron represents the element of water. A cauldron can hold many things like water, herbs, incense, and candles, and is very useful when it comes to rituals involving burning and creating small fires. The preferred material for the pot-bellied cauldrons is cast iron. This is mainly due to the fact that cast iron cauldrons can take the heat and don’t crack under high temperatures.
THE BELLS Bells are used to mark passages in a ritual. Try taking a look at spells, you’ll notice most require you to ring a bell once or twice, and also ask you to ring your bell to mark the beginning and the end of a ritual.
THE CANDLES Candles represent the element of fire. A pair of candles also symbolizes the God and the Goddess.
THE BOWLS Having a bowl on your altar represents the element of earth. A bowl can hold water, sea salt, and oils. It is important to have a bowl that can hold sea salt, since a small bowl of sea salt on your altar can cleanse your other tools for magick, and also any possession you have that you feel is holding negative energy.
Smudging bowls are essential for magickal working.
INCENSE
Incense symbolizes the element of air. It is used to clear energy, cleanse, and call in energies.
THE CRYSTALS Each crystal holds a different energy. Crystals enhance the power of your spells, and keeping a variety of crystals on your altar will help you in various rituals.
THE BROOM A broom is very symbolic of sweeping energy and keeping negative and unwanted energies out of your space.
There are so many more tools in Witchcraft that you can use to enhance your spiritual journey and your magickal workings. What I mentioned are just the essentials, and you can add to them as you progress in your journey.
Before you begin using each tool, it is important that you clear and cleanse it. And make sure that you treat each with respect and care, as it represents a divine element. Some witches, including myself, don’t allow others to touch their tools and crystals and supplies to prevent any unwanted energy from absorbing into these things. You can make the choice yourself for your items obviously, but keep in mind that you should keep your tools and supplies full of light energies!
I’ve been spending a lot of time on my Book of Shadows/Grimoire lately and I’m just in love with it. I used to be so scared to mess my drawings up that I wouldn’t draw at all. This book has given me an excuse to draw and be proud of whatever I manage to create.
Introducing… my Grimoire of a Forest Child!
This is just the beginning of my bullet-journal inspired grimoire, and will combine my witchcraft stuffs with my pagany stuffs, seeing as I’m tired of having them in separate locations.
Here we have the Wheel of the Year, a short introduction to the eight Sabbats (I plan to give them each their own page(s) eventually), the Periods of Transition between the Sabbats (borrowed from @ofcloudsandstars post), and the Moon Phases!
Soon to come include the Esbats!
🔮Tea Leaf Magick. I am not much into reading tea leaves because I didn’t know how. But this looks like a promising way to try and learn
I’m learning about tarot, here are some of my notes 📝

The Runic Alphabet
The Runic Alphabet. The picture is the Runic alphabet I use!
💫💫💫💫
What are Runes?
Runes are written symbols which represent sounds or ideas. Basically, they are letters that are named for objects. Specifically, they are letters in the ancient Germanic alphabets. The word rune comes from the Old Norse rúna which described the letters of Germanic alphabets used before Rome imposed its alphabet on Europe.
In modern usage, the word rune is often used to describe a letter in any alphabet used for divination or other magical purposes.
💫💫💫💫
What are some of the different types of Runes?
Runes are written symbols which represent sounds or ideas. Basically, they are letters that are named for objects. Specifically, they are letters in the ancient Germanic alphabets. The word rune comes from the Old Norse rúna which described the letters of Germanic alphabets used before Rome imposed its alphabet on Europe.
In modern usage, the word rune is often used to describe a letter in any alphabet used for divination or other magical purposes.
In addition to these, there are the elvish runes of “Lord of the Rings” fame; witches runes, also known as Theban runes; Ogham runes; letters from the Enochian alphabet and so on.
The Witches Rune is not related at all to any ancient or magical alphabet but is a chant used during spellwork.
💫💫💫💫
How can I use Runes for magick?
A rune is a multilevel device used for various purposes.
A rune may be used as a talisman and engraved on wood or a piece of metal or fashioned in some such fashion as a device for protection to ward off evil or to draw love or wealth towards the wearer.
Runes are often inscribed on candles to increase the power of a spell. They are inscribed or etched into the various magical tools such as the chalice or athame.
💫💫💫💫
How can I use Runes for divination?
Runes are often used for divination among members of the magickal community. They are most notably used by Heathens, but are also quite popular with Druids and Witches and many other groups. When used as a divination tool, runes are usually inscribed into small stones or pieces of wood that are uniformly shaped and sized. These are sometimes referred to as rune stones or tiles, but often simply called runes. Runes may also be drawn onto sticks, these are called rune tines. Sometimes the runes are written on cards.
Rune stones are usually kept in a small bag or pouch and the caster reaches into the bag while meditating upon a specific question. She may then draw a specified number of runes and lay them out in a specified pattern, or she may gather several runes at random and scatter them in front of her, letting the pattern that they form inform part of the reading. Once the runes are laid out, she examines them and gives a reading based on the meaning of the individual runes, their relationship to each other and their position in the layout. If using cards, they may be drawn at random from a deck in similar fashion.
💫💫💫💫
What else can I use the Runic alphabet for?
Your Book of Shadows or Grimoire
A secret journal
Writing notes in class
Writing spells
To connect with deities
You can use Runes like sigils, by learning the meaning of a runestone and then drawing it on you, paper, other materials, and etc
💫💫💫💫
Somethings you should know when learning to write the Runic Alphabet
There are lots of different variations of the Runic alphabet, so someone else might know a different one to you.
Some people write third alphabet left-right.
Some letters do not have their own rune, and so they will have a repeated rune.
Some common word beginnings and endings like “Th” and “Ng” have their own runes.
GRIMOIRE INFO & IDEAS
Grimoire / Book of Shadows
A Grimoire mostly known as Book of Shadows is basically a Witches Diary!
It holds Spells, Divination, Corespondents, your Personal notes etc.
Your Grimoire is YOURS! you make the rules, there is no certain way a Grimoire has to be written and set up!
Always make sure your Grimoire is protected and doesn’t fall into the hands of others! A protective Sigils is always good to use!
Some keep several Grimoires specific for one topic each, i.e One for Spells, one for Tarot, one for Dreams one for Recipes etc. once again your Grimoire your rules!
What to use for your Grimoire:
You can use everything from binders to composition books, you can make your own binding, even papers in a folder. However you want to keep your Grimoire is up to you. Some even keep an online and digital Grimoire on their phones and/or computers.
If you don’t want to use too many pages for one topic you can add Envelopes, Envelopes are awesome to keep Star maps, portable Divination spreads and boards and dried flowers, herbs, pictures etc.
You can keep your Grimoire simple or decorate it with symbols, drawings, washi tape, pressed flowers etc. if you mess up a page you can paint over it or glue something over it or however you’d like to fix it.
Keep and Index so you know where everything is, color coding is an awesome option too.

Grimoire Ideas📖✨
since i’m starting to work on getting my own Grimoire better organized and figuring out what i think fits best in it for me, i feel like i should log some ideas that have helped me in my journey in hopes that it could help someone else just starting out. but just remember that your Grimoire is your own and personal to you and you alone so you don’t need to put everything in if it doesn’t vibe well with you or doesn’t fit into your craft. your book should hold things that are personal to you and your craft and what you believe and you don’t need to have every bit of knowledge in your book.

obviously you can pick and choose whatever works best for yourself and your craft, and i don’t even have some of these in my own book but still thought they would be helpful to include for witches like me who are just starting out who need ideas of what their books can hold! i’ll probably start posting more about my grimorire and how i keep it organized as well!
if you think i’ve missed anything feel free to add on more ideas to pass on to your fellow baby witches!

this can be used in a book of shadows, book of knowledge, path journal, etc.
✧ table of contents: so you don’t have to flip through to find whatever you’re looking for
✧ a page all about you : helps to make it more personalized. you can add your favorite herbs, crystals, plants, incense, tarot cards and just about anything that’s important to your craft. you can write what your path is and what interested you about it. you can add your natal chart.
✧ goals: goals in your path (can be included on the page about you)
✧ calendar: you can write down the lunar phases on it, holidays important to your craft such as Esbats or Sabbats
✧ elements: what they stand for. their importance. correspondence.
✧ herbs/plants/flowers: I wouldn’t put every herb but write down the ones that you most commonly use and their correspondence
✧ crystals: exact same as the herb page.
✧ runes: exact same as herb page.
✧ candles: you can write down what each color represents.
✧ witch tools: write down the tools you use. maybe their importance or what you use them for.
✧ lunar phases: draw them out or print them out and write down their symbolism
✧ astral plane: information about the astral plane and astral projection. your experience with astral projection.
✧ deities: info about your deity/deities (their history, picture, correspondence). offerings ideas. invocations.

✧ reflections: personal reflections.
✧ ancestors: your ancestor line.
✧ resources: info from books you’ve read.
you can decorate your book with dried up leaves/flowers, illustrations, collages, colored pen/markers. I would recommend adding a protection sigil. by no means do you have to make your book aesthetically pleasing, do whatever works for you! In my case, the nicer it is the more I’ll use it. add whatever is important to your craft, don’t add stuff you’re not going to need or use. make it your own!
Crystals
~ What are Crystals and what are they used for?
Most crystals ( in this case including gems, rocks, precious stones, semi-precious stones, and simple stones) are of mineral origin. Crystals, like amethyst, come out of the ground naturally faceted and don’t need to be changed in anyway. Diamonds, for example, come out of the ground equally as rough, but are usually polished and cut into intricate styles.
For many years, crystal have been used as a tool to aid spiritual healing, psychic development, and meditation.
~ How can I incorporate Crystals into my everyday life?
You can carry around your crystals. This way you can feel your crystals energy when needed. Place them in a little sachet or pouch and they are ready to go!
Infuse your water with your clean crystals. This is a fast way to feel your crystals energy.
Decorate your magickal space and/or surroundings with crystals.
Meditate with your crystals. Just spend a minimum of 30 seconds with each crystal. Hold it in your hands, close your eyes, and feel its energy soaking into your skin.
