An Artist | Rukia & Yato
"Hmm." Rukia was staring at her artwork resting on the easel. It had been some time since she practiced her drawing skills. Especially with all her duties as a shinigami and student taking up her time. Since she had just finished her classes and patrolling she decided to work on drawing. So here she was, finished with the art piece she had worked on for about an hour. Although the Kuchiki wasn’t certain if the piece she created was good enough or it was best for her to start over.
The atmosphere was calm and it seemed as though the god wouldn't be doing any favors that day. He tightened his grip on his jacket, securing his precious bottle of yen tucked beneath his arm. It was a slow start...but he will push through anyways. Soon(er or later), the whole of Japan will bow down to him and he will be greater than any god that came before him!
But first, he needed to gain followers and to gain followers, he needed to be able to do things for the humans...most gods gave fortunes and wisdom, but Yato was different: first, in that his real skills were unnecessary in this time period of peace, and second, in that he could only serve humans by doing menial labor. This included fixing plumbing problems, finding lost cats, cleaning rooms...he was a delivery god. He delivered fast and cheap services. It was sad, but he needed to start somewhere in this modern age.
Prancing through the buildings of Ouran, he found himself staring into a room filled with easels, the manifestations of creativity splashed onto empty canvases. There was a single youth in the room, eyes boring deeply into her canvas. Curious (and having nothing else to do), he quietly entered the studio. Even if he stomped his way in, it wasn't like she would notice. He was unseen in the human world. Only beings like him, trapped in the boundary between the living and the dead, like deities, spirits, ayakashi, could see him.
He stood behind the girl and looked at the painting in surprise. It was...unexpectedly cute.
"Is that a self portrait?"
