okay, last one (for now at least. this is kinda fun)

discounting let’s plays and older sibling figures letting me touch their Nintendo Switch for two seconds, my first real videogame was Awaria. took my dumbass 30 hours to 100% (baby gamer goes to bullet hell), but it was worth that sweet sweet concept art and that sweet sweet pudding recipe. also, you get to be a purple lesbian that kisses ghost lesbians, and I’m a purple ghost lesbian, so it’s pretty much the best game ever.

TCOAAL and both Vanripper games have fucking fire lineart and character design, I’d like my art to look somethin’ like that someday

and Endacopia. I’m not usually one for pixel art because it can feel limiting to my toon-loving soul, but Andyland is the best artist ever while still keeping that charm. can’t wait for summer when the game finally releases.

this is leaning into “character” territory, and I’m sure there are other videogame creachurs like this, but the cats from Cats Are Liquid, specifically Lumi.

I mean, come on, look at the way she moves. you get to be this thing.

I also resonated a lot with the little story the game gave her, and the series was and is very nostalgic for me as someone who also played a lot of Scratch platformers. I even made an OC based on her lol

to make up for all the Not Arting when this is supposed to be an art blog, here’s some quick doodles of Lumi in her various stages of matter. maybe I’ll draw more CAL stuff, I’ve forgotten how much I love these games.

I try not to regret things, and I don’t really do videogames, so that’s a bit of a tough question. I regret not owning a computer or a video game console for most of my life, and I still kind of don’t. I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot of culture I’d otherwise be really into. people like to talk about how video games changed their life and stuff and I just. try not to think about it too hard.
