To work within the designer maker industry sector and produce finished embroidered soft furnishings for the bedroom; which include bed linen and cushions. The collection will be aimed at the adult interior market for spring/summer 14; incorporating mainly hand embroidery, collage and fabric manipulation.
Old but not forgotten; a nostalgic return to the fairground, taking a fond look back on a time which provokes many feel good memories as the 50s fairgrounds fade from our memory and today’s technology comes into play. As this theme is revisited the colours and lights that blend and fuse with the motifs that come in and out of focus can be seen slightly clearer; echoing the joyous childhood times surrounding fun at the fair. The use of fragmented coloured pieces collaged together reflects the atmospheric element along with new shapes, patterns and textures being displayed. The tradition and journey behind this theme whether taken as whole or extracted elements are of high inspiration; in turn combined with the textile traditions of hand embroidery and smocking can not only support and reflect but with a modern pattern quality for the contemporary market will ensure its place in interiors today.
