"I could be happy with you anywhere," Amelie muttered, her gaze softening. After losing Sam, she'd sworn never to allow herself to fall in love again. But that was the issue with emotion, it demanded to be felt, whether you willed it or not. Oliver had trapped her in it, and she had no intention of escaping. "So we'll stay here. You and I, together. For as long as life allows."

"Admiring everything that you and I have accomplished," Amelie replied, stepping down from her position on the balcony, which overlooked the majority of Alexandria. "I feel a sense of peace here that I haven't felt in decades. As disruptive and... rebellious as our residents are, they've made a home here. So have we." She cast her eyes over the town again, her mind evidently still in deep thought. "The day will come when someone threatens that peace. They will attempt to take this from us, out of fear, or jealousy, or greed. I look forward to guiding them to their end."
“You flatter me,” she grinned. ”And you should not stop. I have lived too long to remain humble.” Lagertha was only joking, but truthfully, both women had received perhaps every compliment under the sun throughout their immortal lives. Their beauty and strength was infamous. But only when it came from the other did it truly matter.
“You must be kidding?” Her smile dropped, expression one of awe. “The god of thunder himself, to walk amongst mortals? How is it possible?”
"That you have, but don't worry, ást mín, I shan't ever stop. I was actually planning to have one of our new residents paint a mural in your honour. That way, anyone who enters our borders shall first be met with your beauty," Amelie teased, nudging Lagertha's arm. "Although I have my doubts they'd be able to accurately capture the vision of you. Many have failed before." And paid the price.
"I'm not. Supposedly he's heard about our victory here, and has been met with intrigue, comparing it to some of his own feats. I'm uncertain on the how, but I'm sure we'll find out in due time. Wonderful, isn't it?"

“I guess being vampires, that makes sense.” He raised his eyebrows at the information, finding it quite amusing, considering. “Really? Well. How did the rest of the rubble get in?”
“Yeah, I doubt those types would have a great time amongst the heart of the people who destroyed their way of life. But fair’s only fair, hey?” Billy’s smirk lessened at the rejection, but he didn’t take it to heart. He enjoyed the chase of someone playing hard to get, which is how he usually took it. “Nah, not really. It’s not about the aim for me. More about the journey. Besides, I meant what I said. You can take it or leave it, that’s entirely up to you.”
“Well, as I stated, we were low on resources. And having our vampire residents leave town for a simple drink wasn’t ideal, so hesitantly we opened our doors. With agreements and rules, of course, I couldn’t have the rebels unleash chaos upon my streets. As you’d come to expect, Paylor and I have reached an understanding. I offer the protection and safety of a bordered town, and she provides willing necks and the promise of development. Which she’s delivered, I must admit. These houses are coming along marvellously.”
“That it is,” Amelie agreed, her smile pinched. “Sometimes fire must be fought with fire, wouldn’t you agree?” Not that she’d wasted her own time getting involved in human affairs, but if she were to have fought, it would’ve been for the rebellion. The needless torture of children had always disgusted her. “Well let’s hope that journey leads somewhere pleasant. I’ll take it, for now. But with a pinch of salt.” There was always an ulterior motive. Amelie suspected it’d make itself known, eventually.
I’ve promised I would do everything I can to make this plan work. My aunt assumed you’d want me as part of the deal, I will tell her she’s wrong.
GAME OF THRONES Season 4 Episode 1 — Two Swords
His eyebrows raised after their handshake, impressed. “Isn’t that quite the title. I wish I had one just as impressive. How long has this town been around for?”
“Noted, again. My apologies,” he held up a hand in surrender, polite smile returning. “I thought we had a few ex-Capitolites still among us. Was I misinformed?” Billy had done his fair share of research before settling here. It seemed particularly diverse. “And a gorgeous one, at that.”
“Not too long. My companions and I are well travelled,” Amelie explained, finding no risk in her honesty. “We settled here just before the rebellion began. I wanted a safe haven for vampires.”
“There are a few, but they hold none of the overly eccentric Capitol traits that I find so irritating. And they certainly didn’t inherent that ghastly sense of fashion.” She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Are you aiming to get somewhere with shower of compliments, Mr. Russo?”
