I remembered you say that you are not an hardcore Ichiruki shipper so I wanted to ask you something.Why is it so important to you that Ichigo and Rukia are in a love relationship? Is it because their current relationship is not satisfying enough,"precious nakama" is not satisfying?
TBH I really don’t know how to answer this properly because I honestly think you asked the wrong question to a wrong person… After all this time haven’t you realize that I am actually one of those people who is more than cool & satisfied with their current relationship? probably because I enjoy poking fun at it :p But since you ask, I shall entertain you… However since I’m really not good with words & like I said, this may be a wrong question for a ‘not a hardcore IchiRuki shipper’ (which I don't remember saying), so this answer may be unsatisfying. xD
For starters, I’ve stated some of my POV on IchiRuki’s “precious nakama” stuff before, and since I don’t feel like repeating myself right now so here you go (click “Ctrl +” to zoom the small font :p). Now, all of that didn’t have to do with them being in romantic relationship because romance is not the important part or the main reason to why I ship & how I view IchiRuki all this years.
So since I’m fine with how things are between them now, it is definitely not because I am not satisfied with their current relationship that I hope to see some romance between them when Bleach end. It’s just… the probability of it happening is so high, you just can’t dismiss the idea aside. After all things that happen in Bleach, Ichigo & Rukia do have the best stepping stone out of all other possible pairing, to start a successful relationship. The fundamental is already there. It’s mutual, it’s the strongest and it isn’t that hard to grasp that romance is simply a logical thing that can happen between them at this point.
Honestly with those two, the only things that is lacking for them to be called lovers is just some real “ILY” type of love confession—in which, if that ever happen, it won’t come out as a real shocker after seeing how Kubo develops & emphasized their bond throughout the years. Though personally, I don’t really need their verbal or super lovey dovey confession but just some subtle hint in Bleach epilogue. :p
Now, don’t even try to argue how romance will ruin their oh-so-unique-and- beautiful friendship or Bleach storyline in general because that assumption is pretty much baseless especially in Bleach where their unbreakable bond had been stressed so many time. Like seriously, how weak does your so called unique bond Kubo worked on for years is if it can simply be ruined by a romance that can just be implied at the end of the series…. :/
PS: I was trying to recall where on earth did I ever said I’m not a hardcore IchiRuki shipper & I still can’t remember… But then if me making so many posts & fanarts to defend IchiRuki is not considered hardcore enough, IDK what will. o.o
