That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. Indie Steve Rogers from Marvel. Written by Russ. No longer New to the Avengers RP but still, please pardon my dust. m!A’s welcome.
If you want to RP with me, I’m always happy to. However, if you want an established relationship where they’re living together, you better be Bucky Barnes or an avenger(non-MCU type because those assholes are barely work buddies let alone friends) unless we’ve plotted it out because we’re gonna have issues if it’s an OC because I don’t know them.
I’m not privy to the thoughts in your head or your muse’s tragic backstory. I am just a big nerd who loves a guy who punches Nazis. A meet-cute or meet-ugly or just spilling a beer on his head at a baseball game works for a greeting. Hell, punch him in a bar brawl if you wanna.
But don’t establish a relationship that isn’t already canon in some way. Especially without my consent.
sambucky is truly a top-tier ship for me because yes in theory that 100 something year-old man was never supposed to have even lived to see the same era as sam but he's here now and he's so down bad for him
So I've hidden this reply, both because it's obnoxious and because I don't want the person who wrote it being harassed for it, but I need you to understand: I don't know you. We are not friends. This is not fun or cute, we are not sharing a charming joke together. You are just being an asshole.
literally that is what the post is about, I am saying people should be less eager to jump on any chance to be snarky and rude to total strangers on the internet
you said it yourself: you're looking to vent it LITERALLY ANYWHERE
so vent it somewhere private. or at least not literally aimed AT another person, a total stranger at that
Like, this reblogger sounds so insanely self centered in their reblog. notice how both options focus on how being rude would affect THEM. "B has no consequences for me so it's perfectly fine to do"
(the only reason I didn't show their username in the screenshot is because, given how self victimizing they sound in their reblog, I believe that, if I did show their username, suddenly online stuff wouldn't seem so inconsequential to them and they'd accuse me of sending harrassment their way and putting them in danger)
You said it better than I could. Of all the inane and ridiculous things I've seen in my notes because of this post, "I NEED to say fuck you to strangers or I will literally die" is certainly one of them
It had been a few months since he’d woken up and learned aliens were real. SHIELD had decided he was ready to work, but steve had several reservations. Always asking questions. Questions that annoyed many of the agents that he was supposed to work with. STRIKE team Alpha’s commander was always amused by his reactions, but Brock also seemed to be amused by everything. Steve wasn’t sure what to think of him, but he didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he tried to figure out why he was being led around by the nose. Feeling like SHIELD was hiding something and intent on getting to the bottom of it.
He was settled in his spot at a cafe he’d started to frequent when he heard the raised voices. Looking up to see a man being berated by others. Steve couldn’t see the stranger’s face, but the words the men spoke only made him angry. Insulting the man’s origins and trying to intimidate him.
Steve found himself standing and storming over, face like a thundercloud as he grabbed the ringleader by the shoulder and practically lifted him off his feet to turn him to face Steve’s wrath.
“You’re gonna leave,” his voice dropped into a low Brooklyn drawl. Glaring down at the man that suddenly looked very nervous to be there. Not letting go until he’d said what he had to say, “and you an your pals ain’t gonna come back here. Understand?”
"Well, why the hell not? I got nowhere else to be." He chuckled softly before he even realized it. He knew the assignment, knew what he was supposed to do to finish this particular mission and yet... somehow, somewhere deep down, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it.
He enjoyed Steve's company in ways he'd never done with anyone before. Liked having him close even though he knew he shouldn't care and took a mental note not to let any of his superiors know about it.
"But maybe we should grab breakfast and coffee first." He suggested eventually, ignoring the fact that he wasn't usually used to doing just that. "Don't know about you, I'm getting kind of hungry."
“I’d like that,” Steve smiled, eyes crinkling a little with the force of it. He knew he’d have to go back to reality eventually, but for now he could pretend that he was just private citizen Steve and not Captain America.
“Got a place you wanna go?” He asked, eager to see what Sergej liked and learn more about him. Aching for connection with someone who didn’t see an icon of Americana when they looked at him.
I think there's something really profound about there being beauty in women choosing violence. That they chose it and aren't ashamed of it. There's a joy in these that almost brings me to tears.
I only hate certain types of fic the same way I hate mosquitos and ticks. Like get these nasty little buggers away from me but also I respect their place in the ecosystem.
Listen and sometimes? To enjoy running through a beautiful field of grass and flowers (ao3) you have to tolerate the fact that bugs (fics you don’t like) are there and maybe you will even encounter one, but you can use bugspray (filtered tags) to reduce the likelihood of that. Because the alternative is not getting to experience the beautiful field of grass and flowers.

Sign ups open until May 16!
The first prompt goes out May 17!
We can't wait to see what you write!!!
Rounds will operate on a weekly basis; the number of rounds will depend on the number of authors who sign up. Authors will have three days to write/edit their drabbles, which will be posted anonymously. Voting will take place over 24 hours; the fics with the least number of votes will have their authors revealed, awarded their own personal Cyrofreeze, and be done with the event. They can then post their stories under their own names. The rest of the authors will continue to the next round.
All fics must include some version of Bucky Barnes. All fics must be exactly 100 words. Authors may self-select out of the event at any time with no penalty, but will not be allowed to rejoin until the next event.
Authors must maintain anonymity about the event: in other words, Cryofreeze authors cannot admit or announce that they are a Cryofreeze author or post their Cryofreeze stories until they are frozen. They are allowed to post and discuss other, non-Cyrofreeze stories, as they like. Once frozen, authors can post their Cryofreeze stories wherever and whenever they want to do so.
This event is not restricted by age. Anyone of any age can join.
There are no content restrictions on fics written for this event; all fics will include rating and appropriate warnings.
This event does not allow AI-generated content. Authors are not allowed to use AI in any part of their writing process for this event--apart from a word-counter, that is.
