motherhood is inherently oppressive but i dont think we’re ready for that conversation yet considering how many people defend tradwives bc “women should be able to choose to be housewives if they want!!!!”
Motherhood is NOT inherently oppressive. Motherhood becomes oppressive in a society that is dismissive and degrading of mothers and families.
Many women myself included grew up without present mothers, we grew up with out the pressure to be mothers or homemakers. The pressure we grew up with was to look down on mothers and women who chose these roles.
Just because being a mother or homemaker isn't something you would personally choose doesn't mean that all women who choose it were pressured into it and I think its important for you to examine your own bias in this situation.
