Why I'm Spending This Month With People In Poverty
Sometimes all you can do is follow your dreams.
I am officially dedicating my life to international development work. Fortunately enough, today I will be literally going after my dreams, spending May in India. There I will independently research opportunities for Ameur Amor to change lives for people in the bottom billion, venturing off and meeting entrepreneurs in slums and rural villages. I have an opportunity in my life right now to make a difference in the world, on a global scale.
I want to build the quality of life for the bottom billion in a sustainable way (equitably, economically, and environmentally). I envision a world where a self sustaining for profit business models can diminish poverty globally. I wake up every single morning knowing that my life has a purpose. A desire to drive change for humanity even if it is in a small way, at least I am doing something about the issues I am most passionate about.
Where am I going?
1. New Dehli
2. Rajasthan
3. Himachal Pradesh
4. Leh, Kashmir
5. Assam
6. Nagaland
7. Mumbai
I’m most excited to…
I am excited to meet new friends, to step out of my comfort zone completely, and have the greatest adventure of my life while doing some good.
I will grow from this experience!
I will grow mentally, physically, and spiritually. India is fascinating land, a holy place. Organized chaos some like to call it. I will evolve as a person and as a social entrepreneur. It will be my first time traveling alone so lots of growth will definitely come to the table from that.
Just the beginning.
I feel anxious, excited, but ready. This will be the first of many trips on this journey to make the world a better place. I dedicate this trip to my good friend and co-founder of Ameur Amor, James Orduño, without him none of this would be possible. He is a fine example of an Adventurer, Urbanist, and Humanist.
We are excited that documentary film maker and our good friend, Brian Frank, has began shooting a documentary about Ameur Amor. The documentary will highlight the creation of Ameur Amor and the impact it can have on ending poverty!
