Nacht Faust Dating Headcanons
Tried my hand at this. I always try to somewhat go into depth about what I think characters would be like in relationships (not even necessarily romantic) and try my best at expanding on the canon weāre given so I hope you like those!
Would never hurt you over his dead body. Of course every relationship has itās ups and downs but Nacht has very high standards on what a good person is supposed to act like and by extension how a good relationship is supposed to look like, starting with himself. Heās a rational person who reconsiders a decision before he acts on it. Will ask himselfĀ āDoes this harm anyone physically, emotionally, mentally, socially etc.?ā and if the answer is yes heās not gonna do it
And if you believe you deserve anything less than that you bet this manās gonna hold you a long speech about your inherent worth as a human being and a good person. It manages to be cute and slightly terrifying at the same time, mainly because Nacht can come off as pretty intense to the easily intimidated when heās really trying to make you understand a point heās trying to make.Ā
When you get together with Nacht, itās likely your personality and actions align with what he considers good. If you donāt itāll take significantly longer to actually start dating him and mostly being friends with him for a while before he realizes he has feelings for you
If he does think of you as one of those people who have been good from the start, heās a bit of a love at first sight kind of guy. If you end up dating Nacht, chances are you hit off immediately after meeting. Not that your interactions were necessarily flirty or had any romantic implications but you likely got along very well and felt comfortable around each other and Nacht knows pretty quickly that itās going in that direction.
If youāre part of the Black Bulls, he might have fallen for you without you even knowing who he is since we know canonically heās been keeping an eye on his squad and Asta. You probably did something to leave an impression and cause him to come out of the shadows (LITERALLY) and introduce himself to you.
Leaves letters and gifts for you on random shadows
Nacht has a pretty good feel for people and knows whether or not a spontaneous and casual confession would catch you off guard or startle you. If it wouldnāt, you can bet heās going to randomly tell you āi love youā or ācan we kiss?ā out of the blue when he feels like it
Wonāt literally draft up a contract for your relationship but before he starts anything heās going to have a long talk with you about his boundaries and expectations, your boundaries and expectations and how you two are going to manage the relationship
Nachtās kisses and hugs are how you really notice what he feels.
Happy? Heāll squeeze you a bit tighter when he hugs you and smiles into kisses. Sad? He buries his face into your shoulders and seeks comfort from you. Frustrated and angry about anything? Heāll seek out your embrace as a temporary escape. His body language basically says āIām with you now so the rest of the world can leave me aloneā. Itās like youāre the one thing no one can possibly ruin for him, no matter how frustrated or stressed he is otherwise.
Gives you random unprompted cheek kisses and headpats. Like, sometimes he just looks at you and think youāre the most beautiful thing in the world, inside and out, and he just canāt help but give you a kiss
Will let you borrow and keep his shirts even if you already have like 5 of āem
He wants to make you feel comfortable and close to him even when heās away after all
Lets you do his hair if you can and want to
Likes being hugged from behind, especially when heās doing stuff like reading a book or newspaper because it makes everything feel a lot more cozy and comfortable automatically
Hours upon hours of talking. He has so much fun just conversing with you about all kinds of topics. Heās so attentive and interested in your thoughts too! And heās very knowledgeable so both of you can likely learn a lot from each other just by cuddling in bed and talking to each other.
Conversations can be literally anything ranging from Clover Kingdom politics over potions, foreign countries, historical events, the food you had for breakfast, your newest spells, things he nitpicked about other people, colors and their meanings to a full on psychoanalysis of the rest of the Black Bulls.
Heās got a lot of cool techniques to teach you
If you like reading thereās going to be dates where youāll just go to a bookstore or library and pick out novels for each other you have read already and liked and youāll spend an afternoon reading them together and drinking tea
Also totally discusses them with you afterwards. Or points at passages and tells you āthis is how I feel about youā.
Nacht has a beautiful mind and a lot to say about a whole lot of things if youāre willing to listen
Heās also a pretty good emotional support. Heās quick to calm you down when youāre sad or anxious and he has the right things to say to make you feel better.
Literally pulls you into his arms and lets you cry on his shoulder, then talks about what made you upset in detail if you want to (helping you get a clear picture of the situation and sorting your thoughts out) and later will take you by the hand and help you resolve the problem if you need his support
Wonāt take any responsibility or work that is clearly yours off your shoulder but heās always willing to be around as emotional support when you feel overwhelmed with a task
He does get jealous from time to time (rarely but it does happen) but he never acts on it. Heās relatively at peace with his own jealousy. Some will act on their jelousy and refuse to acknowledge it as a problem and others will shame themselves and feel guilty for being jealous. Not Nacht. Heās aware that itās a normal emotion he canāt help but feel every now and then and heās willing to openly talk about those feelings with you without demanding any changes or anything from you. Just talking about them with you and getting a bit of reassurance from your side usually helps him to overcome them already
If youāre jealous he wonāt mind reassuring you and telling you why there is no reason to be worried if it doesnāt happen too often
Overall Nacht is a pretty good catch if you can handle his criticisms
Heās loyal, heās honest and generally very conflict-averse.
If youāre as peaceful as him youāre not going to have many problems with him.
As Iāve said before Nacht wouldnāt hurt you if an action being hurtful to you would have been a conclusion he could have come to by pondering on the decision for a while. Itās not like he never does anything that could potentially upset you, itās just when he does, itās usually on accident.
Most of the disagreements you two have donāt start because youāre upset, thatās for sure.
Thereās still some complications that could cause you distress when it comes to dating him though, mainly being worried about him since he goes on a lot of dangerous missions and was a spy in the Spade Kingdom for a long time. The uncertainty whether heās going to come back or not is hard to get used to.
As for Nacht himself, thereās quite a few things that can upset him. Aside from the typical stuff like disloyalty and dishonesty etc. that would upset most people in relationships, I can see him getting upset over things like exposing yourself to unnecessary harm, diminishing yourself or making excuses for harmful people and concepts
Your fights will be a heated discussion at most. Because Nachtās go to method for dealing with conflict in a relationship is to either communicate or remove himself from the situation.
He has a lot of spite and hatred for a lot of people inside of him but he never acts on it. Because Nacht is at heart a peaceful person and the same applies to any conflicts he might have with you
This is a man who would rather whack himself with a raw fish 50 times than talk back at you disrespectfully or enact any kind of petty revenge, no matter how small. Sticks to his morals above all else and that means staying civil no matter how upset or angry he is.
Heās solution-oriented at his core. Heāll be confronted with a problem and heās going to try and resolve it at the first possibility. Sees no benefit in prolonging a conflict. Even if one of you or both of you need your alone time after a disagreement, his mind is already working on a solution or compromise, so heās usually the first to bring one to the table but he appreciates it if you do so as well.
Nacht will NEVER leave you hanging in uncertainty before he goes to sleep or god forbid go on a mission. Thatās one rule he has. The life as a magic knight is too dangerous to part from the person you love leaving them wondering where they stand with you, whether things will be okay between you and subjecting them to an unknown period of waiting with unsolved conflict. Even if thereās some things left to deal with or work on, heās going to tell you he loves you and that heāll stay by your side before he leaves you alone
Makes sure you know how much you mean to him in general before he goes anywhere
Lots of forehead kisses. He gives a lot of them but he likes receiving them too
Likes to lean his forehead against yours, especially during emotional moments
Again, Nacht is incredibly straightforward, so whenever he thinks something positive about you heāll tell you. So lots of compliments
Heās also good with his words and descriptive with his feelings. You know those deep and meaningful moments in anime with clever phrasing where a character monologues about how important their friends / family / their hopes and dreams are to them which make us all sob our eyes out? Thatās him about you but he says it to your face.
Not big on initiating PDA but wonāt mind if youāre holding his hand or hugging him or giving him the occasional kiss unless youāre preventing him from something heās trying to do or interrupting a conversation heās having
Mostly wraps his arms around your shoulders during hugs rather than your waist
Heās pretty open about activities you two do together as long as it isnāt actively dangerous for anyone involved
Some of the more regular ones include exploring far-away places he can just take you to with his shadow magic, playing board games / cards and cooking together
Nacht is not too much of a fan of restaurants or festivals (too many people that could piss him off) but heāll go there with you if you want to
Heās very respectful towards you as his partner. Nacht falls in love rarely but when he does, he falls fast and hard. You mean so much to him and you become an important motivator for him. He wants to fight for a future in which the two of you can be happy together.
