the thing is, it’s a sweet thing to try to warn a fellow sister in the world and speak from experience to help along the way but there’s a lot of things where it’s a lesson that can’t be taught—it has to be learned. you can try as you might, but sometimes you gotta watch a woman you admire make some dog shit choices so she can learn she doesn’t want to again.

i usually don't add comments to posts but this is so true, especially the "some lessons can't be taught, only learned" bit, the last sentence as well. i've only dated one guy, and that experience was awful, but i don't regret it one bit because it has taught me so many lessons that i wouldn't have learned if i hadn't put myself through that ordeal. sometimes you really do have to learn a lesson the hard way in order for it to stick. like my friends were warning me the same way cianna's anons are warning her, and they kept pointing out very obvious red flags that i kept ignoring bc he was nice and whatnot lol.
