Eurovision: hold my beer
You know what.
I’m okay with these results. Netherlands, you’re cool.
I’m even more okay with Norway being top five. You go Norway.
I’m even even more okay with motherfucking Iceland in full bdsm gear & singing about hatred consuming Europe & waving gay and trans flags at every occasion & trolling their way through the entire f█cking competition until the very end- BEING TOP TEN

Me, a german, and my german friends when they announce that germany received 0 points from the public vote:
ICELAND IS OUR TRUE WINNER

Swedish commentator: Ah yes. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear at 00:40 in the morning.

Me and my friends throughout Eurovision: Iceland said gay and trans rights
My friend, when Iceland held up the Palestine flag: Iceland said human rights
but i think we can all agree that this year’s loser was madonna
LMAO THO Germany not getting any public points, the uk being dead last and Greece and cyprus giving each other 12 points is peak Eurovision
People are revolting: DM18 workshop
Had an amazing day creating prostest posters/banners about things that make us angry. I made an entire list of things that I find frustrating and even though it was difficult at the beginning to channel the anger in a positive way, I managed to use creativity to help with it. Thanks to Swifty and Malcolm Garrett who helped us get inspired by early punk design and triggered to get angry :). It was a demanding but cathartic workshop and in the end we created a lot of handmade postets about being silenced/told to calm down when you're passionate about something. Switfy also told us to switch our phones off lol. People's stuff is great and it populated the studio space. I also got to try out Letraset!!! Such a good feeling getting my hands dirty and actually making '''bad stuff''' without worrying about the looks. It is relieving. I am calm now :).
Alice Rawsthorne: Design as Attitude / DM 18
Me and Louisa attended a talk by a journalist and design critic Alice Rawsthorne and we were both blown away by how good and insightful it was. She talked about how designers can use their skills for political, ethical, social and economical causes and that really resonated with me. She also mentioned her design heros and visionaires who she called 'mavericks'. It was refreshing to hear someone from the older generation speak with so much passion, empathy and holistic approach. She was very knowlegable and factual; even at the Q&A session she didin't dismiss any questions, no matter how arrogant or uneducated they seemed to me (some people there came across as pretentious elitists). She mentioned technology as a medium to enrich design. In her opinion design is vital for society and it enables other people to design. She talked about very local politics/grassroots activism and the distinction (or similarity) between art and design. In the end I got her book and got it signed and I mentioned to her what I thought about the talk. I am very glad I went because it's not often that I hear other established people share my view and it definitely makes me want to follow my values in my career.
