Out of Feathers: Sorry for being gone! I left away to a place without Internet for about a week, and then I had to do things to prep for returning to school and now i'm here again. Hi!
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "Merry Christmas!" Upbeat angel is upbeat!
OUT OF FEATHERS: THERE IS A THUNDERSTORM HERE. A THUNDERSTORM. IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE! I AM CANADIAN! I AM ANGRY!
The Race for Food
Luffy was so focused on running he didn’t even pay any attention to the foot that was trying to trip him. Which resulted in the rubber pirate falling flat on his face. Luckily he was rubber so he just bounced across the floor until he regained his footing again. He didn’t care that he was tripped as long as he wasn’t falling behind.
"Why you—" Luffy threw his elbow to the side, trying to elbow the other away from him. The hallway was just wide enough for both of them to be side by side running to the kitchen. He wasn’t about to let the angel beat him to food. No Way.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Pit laughed as the other bounced across the floor when he fell. Was that even possible!? "What on Skyworld--!?" He tried to force himself to sprint faster as the other was beginning to catch up. "Oh! Oh!" He tried to avoid the elbow but the movement made him stumble.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ He slowed to make sure he didn't fall then he bolted after the other to catch up. He tried once to push the other but missed completely so he tried to start a slap fight with the other as they closed in on the door to the kitchen. "I'll win! I'll get there first!"
Laurent and Pit -- Panic Bell
Laurent gave a small nod as confirmation to the fact that he indeed knew Lucina - and the talk of Marth and Ike certainly garnered a fascinated expression. "Ah, so the Radiant Hero and the Hero King did indeed go to that tournament, as well…I heard of that from Lucina, too, but seeing as the only time we met those legendary heroes before was through transportation magic, I was certainly surprised to hear it. Nonetheless - an ally - or previous ‘friend of sorts’ - of Lucina’s is an ally of mine, too. If you should need my assistance in future, do tell me." With that announced and another respectful bow of the head - knowing an ally of Lucina was here made him feel slightly less uncertain.
"It is certainly a strange coincidence, is it not? Logically speaking, the odds of this must be certainly low for such a thing to happen, but luck happens to be on our side. Logically, this means if luck happened once, luck maypersist in seeking knowledge of the place and a possible escape as well, hm?" A pause, there, at that sensible bit of musing regarding the topic of his other spells. Seeing the other had pronounced it wrong, he gently corrected him.
"Wing magic? Well, you almost said it right. Wind magic - like air, clouds, creating strong gales of wind and the like. Nobody has ever attempted to use it for flight, surprisingly enough - perhaps it might well be possible for anyone to fly with the use of such magic? One could fly over any enemies and avoid fights completely, and people who cannot walk well could get around easier - I must study this to see if it is possible! It would help a lot of people, if such a new use of elemental magic were possible…!”
Oh boy, looks like Laurent was getting all ‘enthusiastic’ about the potential of a scientific magic discovery, there.
He paused, perhaps realizing he’d gone on a ‘sciency excited’ tangent, and mused softly, serious expression replacing the excitement as quickly as it had come: "W-well. That study will come later, this discussion has to come first, does it not? I have yet to investigate this…’keeitchin’. Is it like a mess hall in where everyone sits and eats together?" Well, he was a mage from a ‘middle ages’ sort of place, of course he wouldn’t know a modern term.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "Yeah, same goes for me!" was his reply to the agreement on ally. It was good to have friends, especially at a time like this. The more time they spent bickering and whatnot, the less of a chance they had of escaping from the place that held them all hostage. This would make escaping (eventually) much easier.
Now, if only they could figure out what was going on. Usually, it was Lady Palutena who did all the thinking and told Pit what to do. Now, it looked like the smartest person here would be Laurent, especially since he seemed to go on some magic-science rant about the use of Wind magic (has he had been corrected) and flight.
"Hey, if you ever manage to figure out a way to use Wind magic for flight, I have no problem being a guinea pig. Seriously." He fluttered his wings for emphasis and nodded. If the Wing magic could help him fly, then maybe there was a way to escape after all...
"What!? How could you not know what a kitchen is?" He paused for a moment, scratching his chin. "No, a mess hall is a mess hall. Or, more like a dining hall, I guess. A kitchen is where all the food is kept, and made. They make some pretty amazing food in the kitchen, like... hamburgers!"
Pit jumped up excitedly. "I'll show you what a kitchen is! C'mon, follow me!" With that, he skipped in the direction of the kitchen -- or at least where he could remember where the kitchen was. The first time he found, he had been racing some elastic-y guy down the halls and Pit wasn't paying enough attention to remember how to get there.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ They would find it in due time, most certainly, it just...might take a little longer than usual. Regardless, he was sure it was in this direction so he continued to lead.
Aichi and Pit -- A Good Alternative
"No-one could have expected so many distractions. The recreational room is one big surprise filled with others. Lots of people look grateful; I am too. Some might have driven themselves mad with boredom without them".
And that had drastically kept the mishaps to a minimum; here and there, outbursts of violence and tension, but otherwise, they’d been largely united under the collective roof.
"There’s someone else that’s really passionate about swimming; it is pretty relaxing. And it shows with you”. His eyes followed the gesture towards the waters, hesitant about jumping into the idea. He’d never been one for showing skin, but his regal attire wasn’t exactly one that would suffice for the activity like Pit’s.
A nervous laugh and Aichi held up a hand. “I’m afraid I might have to pass; this outfit is rather difficult to get in and out of quickly. I could always sit by the side and dip my feet in. But you should carry on if you were hoping to”.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Mad with boredom was an understatement. Pit was always searching for something to entertain himself with. He waded around in the water for a bit then turned back at the mention of someone else. Sure, Pit loved swimming, but he was a more a hot springs guy. Regardless, they could always swim together, perhaps. "Really? Who?"
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ He paused and returned to the edge when Aichi decided to pass on swimming. Pit pouted for a moment, then smiled at the consensus. "It's alright. I'm not one for swimming for long, anyway. Not unless it's a hot spring," he laughed. "I just needed to clear my mind a bit, that's all." He rested his chin on the ledge and thought for a moment. "Was there anything you wanted to do?"
This had to be some bad joke.
Nails digging into skin, a pathetic attempt to get rid of the hideous mark that had been engraved on his wrist, but as the ominous voice had told him, it wouldn’t disappear. Branded like cattle, and here he had sworn himself that he’d never again sink that lowly, disgusting. Gritting his teeth furiously the soldier stomped down the hallway, countless different emotions flooding his mind. Anger, was the strongest one, and fear, even though he probably wouldn’t admit it.
{ It was like a Déjà vu, after all it wasn’t the first time that he woke up in a strange place, separated from home and family, locked up like an animal }
And, there was more, heavily weighting in his stomach, strangely, as it didn’t belong there, a feeling he couldn’t explain, and it made him sick. Connected with someone else? Such bullshit, he didn’t know much about magic, but that sounded like some ridiculous prank. Whoever was responsible for this, he’d find them and personally tear out their throat.
He knew that he wasn’t alone in this nasty place, he smelled the presence of other people, heard their steps, he’d just follow them and teach them a damn lesson. Soon they’ll know what it means to mess with a Fanalis.
And it didn’t take too long to find someone. He immediately stormed towards the stranger, growling like a mad dog, and grabbed them by the collar of their shirt, roughly slamming them against the closest wall while his other hand wandered up to his prey’s throat.
”Listen up, shitface!”
"Ya got three seconds to explain everything, unless ya want me to play football with yer head!"
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ He'd slept one night here and he was hoping he would wake up in the light of Skyworld. Yet, when he opened his eyes, he was still here in this place of which he still didn't know the name. Sighing, Pit kicked his feet over the side and stood. Lady Palutena and the rest of Skyworld could be in a world of danger and here he was, just...sleeping.
He pushed the thought to the back of his mind and yawned, stretching his arms and wings until several joints cracked, then stood. He opened the refrigerator to fetch a small snack, a cereal bar of some kind, then decided to explore the place a little more. He had yet to be outside... Maybe he should go there.
Munching on the cereal bar, he made his way casually down the hall at a leisurely pace. If he really was stuck here, then there would be no point in rushing to the dead end, right? Besides, the more he felt the power of this magic that bound physical bodies, the more he felt that only Lady Palutena could break such a spell. And the more he felt he really was trapped there.
Sighing, he broke off another piece of the cereal bar. And Lady Palutena couldn't save him if she needed him to save her. They really were in a mess, weren't they?
Then, he was suddenly grabbed by the collar and thrown up against the wall. He whimpered as his head smacked against the wall but ignored it and focused on the man and the spitting demands in front of him. "What-icus?!" he squeaked, grabbing the man's wrists to prevent choking.
Oh, yes, he was most definitely in a real mess.
"H-Hold on!" he gasped, then swallowed. "I don't know! Uh, I woke up here, like you did! Uh, there's, uh--" He lifted up his wrist to demonstrate the mark. "This connects you physically and emotionally to someone else in the building somewhere? We were all kidnapped, and, uh, oh! There's a pool in the rec room!"
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Of course, he had no idea whether or not that last piece of information was really necessary but it would hopefully calm the other down. Finally, he started to protest, kicking the air and struggling a bit. "Let me go!"

Out of Feathers: I just do not have thre brain power to do replies atm. ^^;; It's 2:40 am over here, so I'm going to chill and watch a little Captain N before heading to bed. Night!
“Oh! Oh. No, it’s sort of a…Well, it’s a — Kind of a culture thing…? Anyway, you can just call me Usagi, Pit-sa…Pit. U-Sa-Gi.”
“Lady Palutena?" Usagi mumbled under her breath curiously as she turned to place the DVD in the player, settling back into her seat on the couch and resumed spooning ice cream into her mouth. "I’ll be the judge of that! I’ve seen a lot of movies, you know?”
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "A culture thing?" he repeated aloud, blinking questioning. "Okay, so... U-Sa-Gi." He dragged out the syllables, just as Lady Palutena told him when she attempted to teach him how to read. Keyword being attempted. "Usagi. Huh. Simple enough. Still a weird name, though."
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ He moved to take the seat beside her and also dug a spoon into the ice cream tub. "So have I! You'll see how cool this one is."
Aichi and Pit -- A Good Alternative
'Created'; the term's usage caught Aichi off-guard, but this was an angel he was speaking with, so it would be expected that his origins differed vastly from what he was acquainted with. So he took it in attentive, nodding his head fervently in response to Pit’s account about the rescue when it would take place.
"I’m certain that she’ll find a way to reach you and the two of you be reunited as soon as possible; she wouldn’t allow someone important to be taken for long. Even now, she could be working to find a way to locate you".
Another excited nod with Pit’s enthusiasm seeping into him; as he’d believed, the optimistic mindset was contagious, already infecting him so much that he’d forgotten there was anything wrong witht he circumstances to begin with. And he’d be thankful for the brunet’s presence to enable that.
"Yeah; there’s enough provided for everyone. They’re actually quite generous with what we’ve been given, so we can just relax for now and enjoy what there is while we wait for the outside to reach us. It’ll be a lot easier by taking advantage of those things and getting along. Negative feelings between people might only drag it out while people mull over their qualms.
”That must have been why you were here; taking your mind off things, to make time go a little faster, right? It’s a good plan, plenty of others could do with a good distraction”.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "They have been, haven't they?" he said quietly, as though it bothered him. They were experimenting on them, but these people watching over them had been so nice thus far. Obviously, their intention was to gather information, but they were doing so in such a kind fashion. But what kind of information were they looking for?
Shrugging, he turned back to the conversation at hand and smiled. "Yep! I find swimming to be pretty relaxing. I would prefer it if there were hot springs around here, but I work with what I got. And, speaking of swimming..." He turned towards the pool and jumped in again, creating an even greater splash of water.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ He broke the surface with a gasp and a laugh, and turned back. "You wanna join me, Achoo?" Already, he had forgotten the other's name but he was sure he would learn in time. "No, wait. That's not right. Uh.. Ah-cha? Ah-... Oh... Oh! Ah-chi!"
“Oh! I definitely know Bruce Willis —" She sure did; Shingo talked about him enough. Accepting the DVD curiously, turning it to view the back cover and the information it contained, the blonde glanced up as if suddenly remembering something important, a light blush coloring her skin. "My name’s Tsukino Usagi. It’s nice to meet you, Pit-san! Good call, by the way; this sounds great!”
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Man, what was these people and adding the extra letters? "No, it's Pit. Three letters. You aren't the first person to get it wrong, though..." Maybe there was something he was unaware of? "Anyways, it's nice to meet you, too, uh... Sunkoni?" He tilted his head. These people here had very strange names as well. "And I know! It's an awesome movie. It's one of the best Christmas movies. I watch it with Lady Palutena every year!"
Aichi and Pit -- A Good Alternative
Never one to drop honorifics so easily, Aichi found himself reiterating inwardly that it might be best to for the sake of allowing the brunet to feel comfortable. “Y- Yeah, sure”. A shaky answer, on both counts regarding what had been posed, but those were minor matters that could be deal with at another point.
"It does; this scenario is rather strange in itself, and it’s awfully intrusive of those in charge to bind us together with someone we don’t know. There could be people making enemies with their partners and it’ll harm them both. There doesn’t seem to be much we can really call our own anymore, not individually. I guess your partner must feel strange too, if the both of you are exchanging so much without even meaning to”.
Not that Aichi could have fathomed just who Pit’s partner was, nor had he any real sense of the absent third-party’s true character. His attention was quickly focused on Pit’s assurance that the Goddess would rescue them. “‘Lady Palutena’… She sounds wonderful, if she appears, I’m hopeful you can both find one another quickly and you’ll be free to go back as you want”.
His smile brightened ever so slightly at the suggestion offered and nodded with a bright chirp of agreement. “I’d be very happy to; if we make friends with people among us, it’ll make our time here easier to bear”.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Pit nodded as the other spoke, thinking over the words he said. He'd never done so much thinking before. Usually, it was Lady Palutena who was the brains behind the operation and told Pit was to do -- not that he minded; she usually explained things (often in words too big for him to understand) and he would agree with her always.
"She really is wonderful. She's the one who created me!" And thus it was his job to protect her with his life. That was what his life was for and what he should be doing right now. "She will come save me! She just has to find me first..."
The angel was pleased to hear that the other agreed to being friends and he patted the other on the shoulder. "Awesome! This is becoming easier already. We can all just relax and hang out until Lady Palutena comes to save us." Maybe they could even use this connection to their advantage and make some great friends.
At least, he hoped... Hopefully, they wouldn't be at each other's throats before Lady Palutena came to save them. What would the chances be that they would all kill each other before she had the chance? Hopefully low. While they seemed to have some riley spirits in the place, there were also some calm ones as well -- which would be helpful.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ It seemed it would be up to them to keep the peace to the best of their ability.
Laurent and Pit -- Panic Bell
It seemed his words - though perhaps lengthy and difficult to understand, his allies themselves had oft complained of them being so - had been sincere enough to aid in calming the winged stranger down slightly, the grip on his wrist finally lessening somewhat. Laurent gave a small nod at the word experiment being repeated back to him, musing in a more gentle tone (which was quite difficult, considering he wasn’t used to using it so openly) that: “Indeed. It also seems a great deal of people have already been dragged into this said ‘experiment’ - I’ve seen many passers-by already and I merely arrived here a few hours ago.” That explained, as the other finally let go of his hand entierly, the mage paused to consider those interesting words.
"Lady…Plautena? Pit…hold a moment, I think…I know you and the Lady Plautena you speak of! Well, not directly at least - but my leader and you may have sparred in a tournament a while back. Apparently it was a special tournament to a select few from Yilesse? Lucina is my leader’s name, and she spoke highly of your lady’s strength - goodness, how awfully rude of me to not recognize you as a fighter from that tourney. However, I never participated in it , so I suppose my knowledge is limited, but I apologize none the less."
The mage paused to give a honest apologetic bow there. However, if Laurent expected the winged person to suddenly back away slightly, as if afraid, at the commentary of ‘dark magic’ - in some way, he wasn’t entierly surprised. Well, he could understand that - dark magic didn’t have the best of reputations. It still made him a little sad to know that ‘dark’ was seen as ‘evil’ right away by most, however, but he didn’t let onto that. Well, he tried not to.
"I honestly have no idea who this ‘Mehdusha’ is, young sir Pit. Lucina is my leader and my friend, so would that technically mean I ‘work’ for her? I see her more as my ally, my friend, though. On that note - I understand dark magic doesn’t have the best of…reputations, but I assure you - though I use Dark Magic, I am a friend of good. I can use Wind magic, too, if that helps…"
He was quite sincere in his tone, so hopefully he could clear up that misunderstanding. His father was one of the nicest Dark Mages he knew, even if…Laurent himself would admit he acted oddly majority of the time. So it would be nice if people didn’t judge dark mages as a whole because it would be nice if his father had more friends. …Even if that was probably, logically, something that he couldn’t change completely, that judgement.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "Wait, you know Lucina?" Pit burst into a cheerful laugh and his eyes lit up at the familiar name. "No way! You know Lucina! I remember her from the tournament. She was one of the strongest fighters there. She went along with Marth, Ike, and Robin. ... And Chrom was there to some degree, too. I actually spent some time talking to him..."
Regardless, it was good to know there was most definitely an ally on his side here in this dark place. "Man, I can't believe you know Lucina. This is like some super crazy coincidence." While most people were more nonchalant about meeting mutual friends, Pit was most definitely relieved to hear a familiar name after all this craziness.
"As long as you don't work for Medusa, I think we'll get along just fine." Scratching the back of his head, he felt like an idiot for assuming dark magic meant evil. Lady Palutena could use dark magic, but she didn't because she was the Goddess of Light. It only made sense.
"Wing magic!? That's awesome. Maybe your Wing magic can help me fly?" Of course, he was probably being a little too hopeful and maybe even unfair to his new friend but without Lady Palutena to help him, there was no way he'd feel the sky in his feathers again. He wondered if the sudden selfishness came from the other side of the mark on his wrist.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "Should we try to find a way out of here, or--" and then he was cut off by the growling of his stomach. "Uh... Wanna check out the kitchen together?"
“Well, I guess! I’ve never watched Die Hard, so I wouldn’t mind." She pointed a finger at the male as she declared, "But after that, we definitely have to watch something more Christmas…y! It’s practically a requirement.”
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Pit nodded at their agreement and scrambled to find Die Hard. "It's such a cool movie. It's got all sorts of action in it -- and Bruce Willis is in it! He's pretty cool." He pulled the movie out of the collection and remembered that he didn't know what her name was. "The name's Pit, by the way." He said, handing her over the DVD. "What's yours?"
Aichi and Pit -- A Good Alternative
"Aichi’s fine, it’s alright if it’s a little confusing" was Aichi’s response, laughing lightly at his companion’s bemusement. Hearing that the other had an optimistic head on his shoulders was certainly helpful; his cheer would spread and bolster the spirits of others around him.
“Sounds right, you’ve got a good idea going there, Pit-kun. I’m happy to hear that you’re well”. Though there was a dip in that chirpy demeanour and Aichi couldn’t help but detect it; he’d apparently found something to keep his mind off things - it was natural, after all, that he’d have some issues with being yanked away from his own home.
"Eh?" he sounded, coming back from loaded thoughts. "A- Ah, I’ve been a little all over the place, but I’m alright for now. At first, I panicked and got upset quite a lot, but there are people here I’ve gotten to know; become friends with. I’m really grateful to them because they’ve kept me grounded. And I hope to be able to do the same for others in turn".
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "No, no," he corrected. "It's Pit. It's only three letters, kinda hard to get wrong." Of course, he was being slightly hypocritical for greatly mispronouncing the other's name. "I said Ah-chi, didn't I? Ah, well..." He scratched the back of his head and shrugged.
"I guess it only makes sense for someone to freak out when they've gotten here. It's just so strange... I don't even feel like myself anymore, like everything that is mine is being taken from me and being replaced by something else. I bet it has something to do with this." He brought up the mark on his wrist. He had already met his partner, the strange man that he was.
Still, the emotional-physical connection was beginning to warp his mind and he was having difficulty telling from his own thoughts from another's -- which was weird provided the Goddesses way of communication with him. In the end, this was all entirely alien to him.
"We'll get out of here eventually, Ah-chi! I know Lady Palutena will come here and save us. She always does! ... Except for when I save her, but that's beside the point. We're not freshmen anymore." With confidence, he folded his arms and decided to keep his trust in his Goddess. If he couldn't break out, then she would be able to save him.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "So, until we get out of here... Wanna be friends?" He grinned at the idea.
“Mhm, mhm, that’s right! Health and many happy years, especially when shared with a friend…while watching a movie!" Well, she’d thought ice cream couldn’t do more than give you cavities, brain freeze, and make you fat(ter), but she’d go with it! It sure sounded a lot better than all that~
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "I know! It's how I get my health restored after a really rough battle against the dark forces of the Underworld!" Laughing and returning to a more normal state of conversation, he nodded in agreement. "A movie sounds awesome! What kind of movie were you thinking of? Oh! I know! Die Hard! The movie takes place during the Christmas season, therefore it counts as a Christmas movie, right?"
Aichi and Pit -- A Good Alternative
Seems he’d grabbed the brunet’s attention effectively and giggled briefly at his assertion, please that he seemed to be doing well. “I guess you’ve got a point; maybe everyone here has not that much to wear on them”.
Turning his head back to the other, he crawled backwards and returned to his full height once the soaked boy began his climb out of the waters. Glancing at the hand briefly, he brushed aside the fact his skin was dripping and grasped it without further hesitation.
"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Pit-kun, My name’s Aichi; Sendou Aichi. Are you doing well? I haven’t seen you around, though there’s plenty I’ve yet to see much of. You look like you’re taking this all in your stride".
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ Pit hoisted himself out of the water and ran out his toga over the pool, returning as much as he possibly could back into the water again. He didn't want to be taking off with half the pool in his robes now, did he? He turned back to his new friend.
"Ah-chi Souden?" he mumbled, trying to wrap his mind around the peculiar name. He had never heard of such a strange name before... "I guess I'm okay, but I'm just trying to stay upbeat!" Grinning, he was momentarily brought back to a peaceful time. " ♪ Ya gotta stay upbeat, upbeat, upbeat! Or you'll be dead meat, dead meat, dead meat! ♪ "
Chuckling, he sighed and recalled his loss of sense when he realized not only was he in a strange place but out of range to speak with Lady Palutena. She could be in danger, or worse, but there was nothing he could do about it if he remained too stressed out. And nothing made him feel better than hot springs -- or it's cooler cousin, the indoor pool.
⇒ ☮ ⇔ ☠ ⇐ "How about you? How are you handling all of this?"
