♜: She wanted him to come over? That shouldn’t be too hard right? The student just nodded before standing up from the bleachers and making his way towards the fields. He really didn’t know what soccer was about besides kicking the ball around until it got into the nets. He knew saying that out loud might upset or anger some of the her teammates and would keep his mouth quiet about it. Owain looked down at the ground as he stood next to her shyly. “So what t-trick will you show me?”
“Hmm...how about how to kick the ball up? Like this...” Putting her foot on top of the soccer ball then rolling it back so that her foot could go under the black and white ball, Megumi kicked it up before starting to juggle it. “We’ll just start with the basics though.” She smiled while letting the ball drop then turning to get another one that was nearby for Owain. “I’m sure you’ll be able to do it!”

“Actually,” Miyuki teased, grinning widely. “When you make that face you look pretty cute,” he said, pulling out his own notebook, watching her covering her cheeks. He really did feel quite lucky to have gotten such a cute soul mate…especially for having found her in high school. The teacher began the introductions and Miyuki turned towards her.
“Ah English isn’t really my strongest point either…though Math I do okay,” he muttered quietly, not wanting to get in trouble on the first day. He couldn’t have that interfering with his baseball. “Really school isn’t all that important to me,” he admitted with a shrug. “I do well so I can keep playing baseball,” he nodded. He blushed a bit though as she asked him to take care of her, he supposed that was what soul mates were supposed to do…though Miyuki wasn’t particularly good at being close to people. “A-Ah…I will do my best,” he muttered, rubbing his neck awkwardly.
“I keep up my grades because of swim too. One time I got a really low grade on my test, and my coach wouldn’t let me go to practice until I made it up.” She said softly, so the teacher wouldn’t hear her, as they continued with introductions and information about the class curriculum.
Watching Miyuki rub his neck a bit awkwardly with a small blush on his cheeks, Tomoko let out a quiet giggle as she put her notebook back on her desk. “Usually people say, please take care of me too. Since we have each other now, it’s only proper that I take care of you, as you would for me.” She smiled softly before remembering something. “Oh, we should exchange emails after class so we can talk to each other more!” Tomoko suggested, trying to make sure that she wasn’t being too loud for the teacher to hear.

♜: He was still nervous about the thought of joining the team for practice. He had no skills in team sports or did any that really asked him to be physical. Actually, any exercise he did was walking back and forth from school. It was about four miles total for one day plus his archery activities. Soft brown eyes trailed the field and watched everyone warm up for their lesson. Even watching others made him feel weird and kept his main focus on Megami since he knew her the most. “I-I’m doing ok-okay!” Shuttering out with a tint of embarrassment. He looked down at the ground as he was pretty sure some people might be giggling or snickering at his weak answer. “Are you d-doing okay yourself?”
Turning to the people who were giggling or snickering at Owain, Megumi turned and smiled sweetly at them. “If you have the breath to laugh, then you aren’t working hard enough, go do three laps around the field. Maybe then you’ll be ready to keep on practicing.” She said with a smile before turning toward Owain again. “I’m doing great! Thanks for asking! Would you like to come over? I’ll teach you a few tricks!” Megumi waved her hand over at him motioning to come over as the few people who were laughing started to jog around the field.
my dear, we are all made of water. it’s okay to rage. sometimes it’s okay to rest. to recede.

When you live in the dark for so long, you begin to love it. And it loves you back, and isn’t that the point? You think, the face turns to the shadows, and just as well. It accepts, it heals, it allows. But it also devours.

Miyuki shrugged and tucked his hands into his pockets, slouching down in the seat. “I think that makes sense,” he nodded. It only made sense that she wanted to get to know him a bit, though as soul mates it seemed inevitable that eventually they would start…dating. It was rare to see people not end up with their soul mates. Though it was also rare for people to meet in high school, not that Miyuki minded.
“Ehhh,” Miyuki shrugged. “I always seem to do okay, average, and as far as school is concerned, that’s good enough for me,” he chuckled, taking out his notebook. Though usually he wrote down baseball plays…or notes about what to do with the pitchers. He rarely took actual notes, but he was great at looking like he was paying attention. “Well,” he smirked at her. “Maybe it’s my goal to get you flustered.”
“Why would you want to see me flustered? I don’t look good...I make a weird expression and my face turns completely red...” Tomoko trailed off while holding her hands to her cheeks to prevent any more of her blush to show. Noticing that the teacher was about to start their introduction, she got out a notebook and her pencil case to make it look like she was actually listening before turning her gaze back to Miyuki.
“I do pretty good in all the subjects, but math and english aren’t my strong points. I barely passed my exams last year for those two subjects.” She chuckled, remembering how hard she had studied the night before for those terrible tests. “Ah this is kind of late, but please take care of me from now on.” Tomoko said, a soft smile taking place on her lips.
♜: To join them? He couldn’t. He wasn’t the most athletic guy out their in the world to run around and hope he could catch up to those who playing soccer for a long time. He made a motion to offer a hand to help with the soccer balls, but Megumi had a good handle on them. He felt a bit weak that his courage to talk was fading quite fast. Once on the field? He was a bit surprised at the mixture on both girls and boys. He had planted in mind he was going to see this schools all girl soccer team. Why where there males? “I-I think I’ll wa-watch.” A small weak mutter came from the young man as he made his way to the bleachers.
Watching Owain walk off towards the bleachers, Megumi let out a light chuckle, thinking that the boy was cute. “Alright! Just call out or come onto the field if you need anything! Feel free to join in anytime!” She called out, making her way onto the field and dumping the bag full of soccer balls on the ground before calling out to all the players that were present. Megumi had them all do a couple warm up laps around the field before instructing groups of people to practice certain exercises then stood back and tracked each group with watchful eyes. She turned to check on Owain and make sure he was okay before sending a smile and a wave his way. “You doin’ okay over there?”
