Messier 94 - Cats Eye Galaxy
At just 16 million light years in the constellation of Canes Venatici this amazing spiral galaxy shows us a head on grand design structure. The inner 30,000 light years is particularly bright with star formation.
The star formation gives a crusted diamond look to the central bulge area, but is the likely a bow shock wave coming from the centre and working it's way outwards. The shockwave causes the dust and gas to compress, and that compression makes star formation more likely.
When looked at in various wavelengths, the surrounding parts of the galaxy which are shown to be parts of the arm structure of the main galaxy.
it's so cringe how every song on the radio by a woman is about how good she is at having sex. id make a song about being ass at sex. i twist the dick like a pretzel and bite it off that's what id sing
he's listening and learning
At a certain point, we all have to take responsibility for our beliefs. There seems to be a weird belief in some moderates that the system may be bigoted, but individuals can't be held accountable. There's racism, but nobody's racist. There's misogyny, but nobody's misogynistic. There's homophobia and transphobia, but no one's homophobic or transphobic. There's imperialism and murder in the US military but we can't judge the willing participants in colonization and murder and rape and torture.
Maybe you aren't anti-system if the suggestion of leaving it makes you defensive. A system can't exist without people. And the uncomfortable truth is you are impacted by it and do have subconscious bias. If you live and were raised in a racist society, as an example, then you do have those biases without knowing. You have to realize that a) You are capable of racism, b) You almost certainly have been racist already and c) You are responsible for that even if it was implanted by others. You, and me and everyone, have to take active steps to rethink and examine how we see and treat people.
this is so comforting. alive world i love you and your rivers every day

countries will be like “nooooo our birth rate is falling exponentially and it’s effecting our economy” and immigrants will be like “hey can you let us in so we can boost your economy and fill your empty jobs and raise our children here” and inevitably the country is like “the only thing worse than a large scale collapse of our population is letting foreigners live here”
you are a faggot and a pointless animal

“When I first heard it, from a dog trainer who knew her behavioral science, it was a stunning moment. I remember where I was standing, what block of Brooklyn’s streets. It was like holding a piece of polished obsidian in the hand, feeling its weight and irreducibility. And its fathomless blackness. Punishment is reinforcing to the punisher. Of course. It fit the science, and it also fit the hidden memories stored in a deeply buried, rusty lockbox inside me. The people who walked down the street arbitrarily compressing their dogs’ tracheas, to which the poor beasts could only submit in uncomprehending misery; the parents who slapped their crying toddlers for the crime of being tired or hungry: These were not aberrantly malevolent villains. They were not doing what they did because they thought it was right, or even because it worked very well. They were simply caught in the same feedback loop in which all behavior is made. Their spasms of delivering small torments relieved their frustration and gave the impression of momentum toward a solution. Most potently, it immediately stopped the behavior. No matter that the effect probably won’t last: the reinforcer—the silence or the cessation of the annoyance—was exquisitely timed. Now. Boy does that feel good.”
— Melissa Holbrook Pierson, The Secret History of Kindness (2015)
This is one of those true, declassified government things that always sounds made up but one of the things Henry Kissinger did with his career was use the CIA to help turn small, prosperous socialist nations into fascist dictatorships just to keep those nations powerless and possibly to keep socialist systems *looking* doomed and futile to the American public, like maybe just to scare Americans out of demanding better infrastructure or universal income. Yes it sounds like an insane conspiracy theory a maniac would invent. It also happened multiple times and several generations of people around the world are still living in misery because of it.
Remember folks, the two types of conspiracy theory are "Things the CIA or FBI has admitted to doing" and "Antisemitism"
