you don’t want to hold my hand? //austin @ ollie
"What? No... Don't be like that, Papa." Ollie rolled her eyes playfully, finally resting her hand in his with an exaggerated squeeze.
"I think my first week of running the place was a success....?" Her statement turned halfway into a question she wasn't sure she wanted answered. She was finally able to deflate, just a little.
Ooc:
I'm super sleepy. Work drained me. I have a creative job, so sometimes my brain goes "buhhh" by the time I get home. I should have a shorter day at work tomorrow, so I'll work on replies tomorrow/ over the weekend! As always, thanks for your understanding and patience! :]
@precarious-fates ❛ was it you? did you do all this? ❜ //alice @ nova
"Of course I did. I mean... We're kind of family, aren't we?" They may not have interacted all that much since they were small, but it counted, they thought. They were obviously nervous about the whole thing. They really wanted to make an effort to make more connections.
Was it a strange family, sure. Or maybe Nova thought too much into it and made a horrible assumption. Their adoptive dad, Ethan, was El's step-brother, who married Lor, who was technically her nephew. Oh they hope they hadn't made a mistake.
"Thought it might be nice to... I don't know reconnect with a little gathering considering we just got back into town."
Arda smiled at him as he wrote down her suggestion in his notebook to try and design something later. "No rush. I know I won't be able to get a tattoo soon, but maybe someday. If and when I do, I know who to go to though," she giggled and booped his nose playfully.
When he looked her over, she tilted her head up at him curiously until he spoke. He seemed nervous, and a bit hesitant, but asked if she was looking for a dancing partner. As soon as the idea was put in her head, she ran with it. Clapping her hands and jumping up and down she would beam up at him. "Oh, yes! Would you dance with me? It would make me so happy if you would!"
Without waiting for an answer, she looped her arm around his and started to drag Myles towards the dance floor. The music was loud and she could feel the beat pulsing through her, guiding her body as she began to dance even while pulling him along to an open spot. Once she had him where she wanted him, Arda turned to face Myles and let her body move in rhythm with his.
The boop to his nose already had him turning a light shade of pink, the suddenness of being dragged off to the dance floor had him completely red by the time they'd made it to the spot the shorter of the two deemed fit. As friendly as he was, he never usually made it this far.
She was definitely excitable, in an endearing way. He appreciated her abundance of enthusiasm.
Despite the redness, he was still smiling, albeit a bit bashfully. The lack of hesitation on Arda's part did make him feel better about it all. He tried not to be awkward about it, but he eventually figured out the best way to go about it with their height difference.
"Do you go out dancing often?" He finally asked when he wasn't so distracted and more settled in with the rhythm.
Smiling along, Cal nodded cheerfully before hooking her arm in his. "Alright, well, where's the nearest park? Where should we head to? Where does our adventure start?"
She could think of about three parks within a half an hour of them, but the forest? That would be at least a good hour and a half to get to, and that was if they could get a ride. But maybe it was the better place to try?
"Hmmm.... Maybe we start close and spiral out?" He pointed to a spot on one of the maps and traced a pattern with his finger from place to place.
"I don't know that it'll be in where all the humans are but.... It would probably be safer with more people around in case it is something bad. Even then, we still might find clues. Magic things hide all over the place, you know?"
"Yeah of course. Tattooing on pig skin isn't gonna help much with that kinda thing, huh? Unless you can find pig skin with scars?" she frowned at that, "that would be... hm. Poor pigs. And the stuff they use for like... learning to do sutures probably isn't very good tattooing material."
Adjusting just enough to look at the tattoos on his wrists properly, Maya winced slightly. "That's a dangerous place to get injured like that. Glad you're okay. They don't affect your dexterity or anything?" she asked, openly curious. "I do think they look great, I wouldn't have even known there were scars there if you hadn't said as much!"
"My mentor was the best man around that I could find. It was his specialty too, so once I got the practice on myself, I was able to book some people through him who were willing to trust me enough."
He leaned back thoughtfully. "There's some pig skin with natural scars, but it's hard to find. Honeydew melon was a great tool for the uneven texture. Made a world of difference. Worked on ones that were more misshaped and had their own scaring. People may not want to eat the ugly ones, but it made for a cheap canvas."
"I was honestly lucky my wrists healed as well as they did, that and a lot of physical therapy after. They get a little sore when it's too cold, but usually I don't have much of a problem once I warm them up."
Myles worked to cut out a chunk of tracing paper to fit the spot, making marks to line it up on the skin as well as a few shape indicators of Maya's other tattoos to know where to stop and work around. Once he was finished he scanned it in to send to his tablet and get to work.
"You can throw your top on if you want while you wait. The temp in here alright for you? I can adjust it if it's too cold."
"There shouldn't be any trouble," Helene assured him with a smile, sipping at her drink and looking out the window again for a moment, before he drew her attention back to the phone.
"Hm? Ah, the boar issue is more keeping their numbers manageable. So there's no pressure on you finding anything else, really. And we can do a lot of things with boar. Just don't take any risks and get yourself hurt in hunting."
You don't have to worry about me and my hunting. I'm always careful. I do have Nina to take care of after all. She may be a cat, but she is the only family I've got and she not capable of taking care of herself. He offered a small smile.
While he wasn't going to be stupid about it, he would find it an interesting challenge. He'd never hunted for wild boar before.
Still it will be a welcome challenge. I don't often hunt for bigger game these days.
“Too much? There’s never too much.” She shook her head with a smile. “I’ve been looking forward to this since last season ended.” Even so, the wolf knew her well enough to know that she would eventually become full and some of the treats she desired wouldn’t make good leftovers. The chance of Lorcan getting what she couldn’t finish was about fifty-fifty.
She watched a bit stupefied as the wolf paid for their pumpkins. Seeing as she dragged him out on this excursion Elyse was more than willing to pay but Lor had been quicker with his wallet.
Following after him as he carried three pumpkins as if they were merely cotton-filled the blonde would assist him with the trailer so not to feel completely useless. As they accomplished their task she tried to calculate just how many dozen donuts they’d need. “I know I can house at least three donuts in a setting before starting to feel icky.” She laughed, knowing that was nowhere near the amount it would take for any of the wolves or other supernaturals to feel sick. “Maybe there is a thing as too much for me…”
When the pumpkins were secured, Elyse gently tugged on Lorcan’s sleeve directing him towards the stalls of fall delicacies. “Since you got the pumpkins, I can treat us to food, don’t worry about emptying my pockets, you get what you want, okay?” She looked over at him with her most serious face but couldn’t hold it long before cracking a smile.
"And you want more than just donuts." Lor pointed out, eyebrows raised as he put the pumpkins in the trailer, making sure they wouldn't fall out when they tried to close the thing.
He followed along as he was tugged in yet another direction. "I'll just start with a few donuts and we'll see what your stomach can't handle." He teased, nudging her with his elbow. "I think they have some roasted pumpkin seeds too... good break from the sweets."
As much as the wolf liked sweets, he was definitely one for balance, even if the amount of sugar it would take to make him sick was startling.
"Maybe some kettle corn." He shrugged as they stopped in front of the first little booth they came across.
"You can pay for ours, but don't even think about the take home stuff. We're going to need a couple dozen to even take care of just the house. My dad will get me back on that one."

"Jeez! You scared me!" Ollie said with a hand to her chest, sounding rather exasperated. She'd just popped up from the under the bar after putting the last few things for the night. "You're about as good at sneaking up on people as Saul, and he's the quiet one of the both of you!" She let out a deep breath and rested her forehead against the bar top for a moment or two before straightening herself out. "When did you start taking lessons?"

"Look, I don't want you getting the wrong idea. I don't care how similar we are. No one gets special treatment. That's all." Del leans back, folding his arms.
If he was honest with himself, he was nicer than he gave himself credit for, but he'd never admit he had a soft spot for anyone. Especially fellow shifters.
"Now what's the problem again? Details this time."
"Yes, luckily our baker has been a dear. Unfortunately, he's not around this afternoon to hear your compliments himself. I'm sure he'd be delighted," Tabor chuckled to himself slightly, ringing him up.
"Shou puer. It's very smooth, doesn't have the bite of black coffee, but it does have a lot of the depth of a good black coffee. Earthy and strong, high caffeine content," he explained, beginning to get that going. "Would you like that for here, or to go?"
The shifter shoved his hands into his trench coat pockets, turning to look outside. It wasn't terribly windy, but he'd be damned if he got any powdered sugar on his coat. "Eh... I guess I'll have it here." It would give him time to snoop.
He pulled out his money clip and thumbed through his cash, holding it out in such a way it would be difficult to avoid skin contact. Del was a sucker for information, no matter who he met.
Sometimes it wasn't even about the person themselves but about who they might come in contact with. Did he think this guy was into anything terrible? No. But that didn't mean people he had a real interest in didn't pop into this place on the regular, and he intended to find out.
While I do not write for him, a little reminder that Myles has an older brother, Andrew! He's the only family Myles has left after his family had a run in with hunters.
She hummed at that. It added up with the things he'd already said. With his behaviour. With him having been turned.
"You won't be able to transform at all. You're welcome to try and test it for yourself. Your healing will be impacted. Some of your strength and senses will be dulled. Not to human levels, but less than you're probably used to. It's within half a mile to a mile, so it isn't a permanent thing. If you're severely injured we'll have you removed from my vicinity so that you can heal—I'm afraid I haven't made many connections with doctors that can treat your kind locally, so in an emergency it'll still take time, but we do have contacts in Europe that can help. I reached out to them out of concern for any issues with Michael's wings," she mused.
"One thing I want to assure you is this: I treat loyalty with loyalty, and I make sure my staff is taken care of. If I'm asking you to endanger yourself on my behalf, the least I should be doing is compensating you appropriately and treating that risk seriously. But I assure you, your desire for discretion is noted."
Nodding to herself, Deva sighed. "I'd like to do a full background check, including of your finances, previous employment, and prior medical instances, as outlined there, which is what I need some of those signatures for. Do you have any questions so far?"
The wolf nodded along as she explained. "I'm willin' ta believe you." He rolled his shoulders. "Don' need ta transform ta kick someone's ass. Never did. Now that you will find on my record."
"I can promise ya this, every charge you find... They had it coming. I don' believe in startin' fights just to fight. I'd like ta think I got some sorta compass or whatever ya wanna call it."
"All the job movin' at least the past two years was just a want for travel, not likin' the city I was in. Now I know it'll be dicey 'round the time the fucker bit me. I was workin' out all the kinks of this bullshit."
"Ain't got nothin ta hide and I won't make no excuses neither."
He fell quiet if only to finally take the time to read over the papers. He wasn't about to be swindled or taken advantage of if he could help it. He'd mumble to himself here or there as he read, but nothing negative. It all looked legit enough to him.
"Looks good ta me." He took the pen and signed in the designated spots.
♡ For Our Guys - El + Lor , Ethan + Robin , Kehlani + Jez
Lorcan + Elyse
●●●●● | ATTRACTION ●●●●● | AFFECTION ●●●●● | INTEREST ●●●●●| LOYALTY ●●●●○ | TRUST
Like Ethan says about Robin, he only doesn't trust that El wont open her big mouth and step into some deep shit with her investigative tendencies and get them all in deep shit. He trusts her emotionally though. The rest speaks for itself.
Robin + Ethan
●●●●● | ATTRACTION ●●●●● | AFFECTION ●●●●● | INTEREST ●●●●●| LOYALTY ●●●●● | TRUST
As far as Robin is concerned, Ethan is the nicest, sweetest, most best ever. He's very nice to him (even if he's mean to other people sometimes.) It also didn't take Ethan long at all to try and find him a solution to his sleeping problems. Considering they also have a daughter? I think he's earned it all.
Jez + Kehls
●●●●● | ATTRACTION ●●●●● | AFFECTION ●●●●● | INTEREST ●●●●●| LOYALTY ●●●●○ | TRUST
The only reason for the slight tick down on trust, which would only be down by 0.5 if it were an option, it's that they are afraid Kehls might get tired of them and their nonsense and all the trouble that being a mutant brings. They don't think she'll out them or hurt them on purpose. It's just an abandonment issue here and it's something they struggle with. It takes many years to get them to feel 100% in that department.

♡ - Val for Tynan
●●●●● | ATTRACTION ●●●●○ | AFFECTION ●●●●● | INTEREST ●●●○○| LOYALTY ●●●○○ | TRUST
All of these will be full in time, I'm sure. Technically loyalty and trust would be 2.5, but there's no halves here. He doesn't believe Ty has any reason to be untrustworthy or have a lack of loyalty to, but that's just something that will need to be earned. He's old and he's learned his lesson on trusting anyone and giving anyone loyalty too quickly. Affection easily follows after for the last tick when he feels it's safe to do so.

♡ - Amin for Trent
●●●●● | ATTRACTION ●●●●● | AFFECTION ●●●●● | INTEREST ●●●●●| LOYALTY ●●●●● | TRUST
I feel all the reasons are pretty obvious based on the different timelines we have with them / have discussed. Based on the timeline where they've known each other and have their lil baby vulture, Sprout, Trent has more than earned all the ticks possible. Amin trusts him with his life, no questions asked.
