Slowly working on rendering sprites for my game, will I ever finish it? Well it’s a big project so it’s just a “in the background while I work on a smaller project” type thing lol
I really respect people who do digital art. If I were to work on a piece for a couple hours and it didn’t save, I think I’d quit drawing for at least a month and a half.
Full disclosure, I was fully planning to participate in this trend with my actual Courier Six OC, not my Animaniacs OC whom I've tossed into New Vegas because he doesn't have enough problems already, but breaking through art block can make ya do crazy stuff. I feel like Slakko with no emo fringe is vaguely cursed, but he's going for the cowboy look here, so no fringe bangs for you, emo boy.
Normally I'd put the full artwork under the cut, but according to Procreate, I spent five and a half hours on this, so it's not happening this time. I had no idea I knew how to do this kind of painterly shading and lighting (I nearly always use some form of cel shading), so I'm admittedly pretty proud of myself. I did kind of struggle to figure out how to paint the lighting on his black fur, but I don't think it's half bad for a first attempt. The usual rambling and character explanations are under the cut.
