AU RP: Gamma Glades Behind the Scenes

Inkopolis is saying farewell to a band today. This is their last gig and their concert is, as usual, free and funded by associations and private companies.

The band’s name: Gamma Glades. They are famous for their original work which they claim are covers of ancient songs. They always prefer their concert at night to show off their neon aesthetics, and science-based special effects.

Their fan base isn’t as large as groups like Off the Hook, Squid Sisters, or others. However, they are more of the cult classic and a polarizing part of Inkopolis’ Music Industry.

Tonight is the last time they’ll be playing.

Inkopolis citizens were gathering with tickets in their hands and Splatfest tees on. They wanted to see the band go out in style.

Soon the music breaks down and the Squid Sisters finish off the song with the last stanza.

“This cruel thesis, a spiteful angel’s litany, Will soon soar from the window of your destiny. White-hot pathos, a desecrated symphony; Stay true to this and don’t betray your memory!  Come now, reach out - you must embrace reality! Rise up, young boy, and make yourself a legend!”

The choir finished up the music with some high notes, and once it’s over, the crowd cheered.

Now it’s for the finale and the crowd is chanting in excitement.

She giggled, happy. This is amazing. Could she become a star someday? To on be onstage.

The finale song is simply just medley of most of the Squid Sister’s song with a twist of a club jazz and techno beat mixed with some funk and disco thanks to the Gamma Glades.

It started with the signature “City of Color” that illuminated Inkopolis Plaza during Splatfests. It then followed with Callie’s upbeat “Bomb Rush Blush” and Marie’s smooth “Tide Goes Out.” Then it transition to their Splatfest single “Ink Me Up” and it all ends with their take of “Now or Never!”

But then came a bonus song that seems to be a signature Gamma Glade single. Now the jazz takes center stage and the light shows is gold, red, green, and black along with colors of a typical casino.

It begins with the trumphets!

“Woah! Yeah!”

The crowd already recognize this cover song and they cheer “Lets fly!”

“Blue skies and beckoning winds… Are trying to open the door of your heart.”

“But you’re gazing at me as if you cannot see;…”

“You just stand there, smiling vacantly.”

“Your eyes hold such innocence;…”

“You’re blind to the fate that will soon come to pass. But it’s summoning you with a touch like a sigh;…”

“You seek it without knowing why.”

The violinist finally sings, and it’s almost beautiful.

The Squid Sisters sang together with their back up singers.

Callie, the Tambourine inkling and the violinist soon join the lead singer and Marie. This time it was all silent, and the neon light effects are dimmed until there was only the spotlight.

The next collab song started with acapella with Callie and Marie leading and the three singers backing up.

This amazed the crowd and they cheered. The neon lighting returns with heavenly colors of white, gold, and cyan while the music is filled with drums and trumpets as the beat. The crowd claps their hands to the beat.

The music continued slow and intensified, and the crowd continue waving. Some fans even hummed to the tune as they continued to wave their glowsticks slowly.

“Kuchi beta de honma ni bukiyou”

“Sayonara wa ieta no”

Callie and the tambourine girl in the band provided their voice as a small back up choir.

And after that the karaoke style song finished with a saxophone and piano rift and the beating of a drums. The crowd cheered on for more. Two songs and one collab is finished. There is one collab and finale that’s left.

With a glance between Marie and the lead singer/ keytar player, they nod and the band proceed to the next song. One of them was keeping a list, checking off that they finished two of their owns songs and one collab song. The next song is another collab song.

The energetic and crazy music transitions to a calm and gentle tune. A bass plays faintly with an occasional guitar and piano ready. A harmonica-like tune began the opening of the song along with some drums. The whole song almost sounded like a karaoke song.

Callie gestures her cousin to go ahead. Marie and the Gamma Glade leader have the spotlight. Marie does her signature pose while the leader posed with a index finger in the air and hand on hip — it felt disco like.

They both spoke together before singing.

“We sing for you!”

The crowd was excited and were already waving their glowsticks and phone lights from side to side.

The lead singer sang first and made some fangirl sigh and almost faint. His look is almost emotional, and he did look like he is doing karaoke.

Polish ‘til I shine like a gleaming blade!”

The ending concluded with a strong beat along with a strum of a keytar, and then then a piano’s tune and a technologic rift. The crowd cheered, having enjoyed the tambourine girl’s performance.

Soon the next song is coming up with everyone already hyped. This time the stage turned neon cyan, magenta, and yelow with a black background. This next song was mostly instrumental, but that was as about it.

However, after that insturmental song, the yellow and cyan neon lights are replaced with Green and white. The crowd was excited to know first collaborators.

Mako looked really eager to hear what it would be like. She bounced up and down. “Oooo…”

The collaborators were granted the spotlight, and they dazzled in their signature idol outfits. It’s Inkopolis’ freshest cousin duo, The Squid Sisters.

The Gamma Glades had them try out a cover song, and it was wild and techno. It was a song meant for any rhythm game.

AU RP: The Ammonites on the Moon

A newspaper has been showing off a minor trend that has spread to Inkopolis Square. 

“Unknown Inklings and Octolings continues to scare locals outside Inkopolis. Rumors say they wear shells on their head.”

This trend isn’t all new, and the public dismisses the sighting as a hoax. Agent 7 and other, though, know something about it; however, they try to assure that it’s a hoax.

They would proceed to head to their base in Inkpolis, an abandoned newspaper factory and newsroom. Little does this Splatoon know, someone followed.

“Any other questions you would like to ask regarding Erikka or these Ammonites?”

“Well, then, if that’s all, you may leave. I was expecting more question.”

One of the agents started distributing the hot milk tea and the food rations. The rations looked like sponge cakes with whip cream.

“The sour cream cake and milk tea is ready.” One of the agents offer it to Agent 7 and to Bryan.

Agent 7 happily took the cake and tea. 

“Thank you, 7.5″ One he dismissed her, he explained briefly. “She’s my adoptive sister. She help Erikka find and play an instrument.”
