There's no use -how would Severa put it?- 'crying over spilled milk.' Best to move on and forget about it. I'm sure there are others who would better appreciate the unique qualities of these old tomes."

  "Nowi nearly laughed herself to tears when she saw my non-practical, but quite entertaining, tome demonstration. And then she wrote it off as 'useless' and 'stupid'.    I realize that these sorts of spells are only valuable as entertainment, but really...how uncalled for..."

As Panne walked through camp, she appeared to have a lot on her mind. She was focused on no particular thing, just staring ahead as she walked.

Of course, Laurent was not wrong. The second he spoke, she recognized his greeting and turned her attention to him.

"Oh. Laurent. That’s correct… Is there something you need?

  "No, no, I was simply on my way to give my usual reports to both-er, to the captain that is. But, now that I have your attention..." Laurent flipped open the mall leather journal in hands and skimmed through a few pages, before addressing Panne again.    "Ah, yes, as I was watching you train with the others...well, I only wanted to inquire if you've sustained any recent injury of any sort. You exuded an unusual level of restraint as you sparred in your Taguel form that I don't think I've ever witnessed before."    He gently closed the book again, glancing back at Panne as he raised a brow.

"Nonsense!" The lord gave Laurent a pat on the shoulder.

"Sometimes, we’re so preoccupied with our own duties that we hardly have time to talk to each other. It’s things like this that help keep us sane in times like these. So, thank you, Laurent."

  He could feel his face heating up. Gods how embarrassing. Not in front of the captain, Laurent.     "Ah, well, this praise is most unexpected...nonetheless, I'm glad I can be of such import in a time of such turmoil. I never played such a role of import in the future...but that was then, this is now, and it certainly is nice to be more than dead weight."

She scoffed, “That was sarcasm, but I guess I’ll let it slide this time.” She looked away with her hands on her hips, looking visibly annoyed. “Other than Stahl being a goddamn moron, I guess nothing really new has been happening. You can say it’s been too quiet.”

  "Sarcasm. Of course. Do forgive the misinterpretation, Sully." For someone who could over-analyze nearly any situation or phrase, Laurent sure was good at missing the details.  

  "Now, I know Stahl can be rather...er, singular in his actions and mannerisms of speaking at times, but I'm sure there's no need for such harshness. Mind if I ask what he did to incur such disdain?"

I don’t know how much sense this scrib actually makes, but you know the random body movements the characters do while talking to each other in barracks. I just love the timing sometimes. And the quotes of these guys were quite fitting.
