I love that even Agott with her abundance of fear and trust issues trusts Qifrey to protect her. She's probably the type to not enjoy people touching her and probably hates relying on others magic besides her own to protect her, but she has no problem curling into Qifrey's chest and letting him keep her safe.

Okay look I knew the whole "treefry" thing before getting here because people online do not know how to tag "spoiler warning" at all. But still oh my goodness this is plain rude. Just so rude.

I can't wait to see this animated though. Yes give me Coco sobbing into Qifrey's shoulder while he rubs her back and soothes her. Even as a tree branch grows out of his eye and threatens to end his existence as a father teacher and witch, his focus is on her. The love he feels for her and the other girls completely overpowers the worry he has for them.

Also I know this is sad but i wheezed when Coco said this:

Girly pop knows EXACTLY who she is and the worry she causes. Its a reasonable question on her part.

Is there a specific tag i can look up on Ao3 for dad qifrey content? Like how the Transformers fandom has Dadimus or how My Hero has Dadzawa. I just want Qifrey hugging his daughters and im not sure how to filter that

Im on chapter 48(?) Of the WHA manga so I know how the current anime arc finishes and that finale cliffhanger is MEAN. The poor anime-only fans omg.

He's bleeding out yet still gently holding Coco's hand and assuring her he'd get hurt again and again to protect her! He's so loving to Coco and Tetia this episode, its so sweet.

This is the first episode where I was caught up with the manga before hand and still I wasn't prepared for how wonderful Qifrey is

WHA Manga chapter 37 spoilers below the cut (mostly me gushing over Qifrey)

HE HUGGED HER. SHE WAS CRYING AND ON THE VERGE OF GIVING UP AND HE HUGGED HER.

I am such a sucker for father figures and hugs guys. My two favorite things in media. Also the art style of this makes it so much better. His cloak is so big and flowy. By hugging her he's not only wrapping his arms around her but also effectively a warm blanket. He loves her. He loves all four of them. Maybe with Coco it started as a selfish desire to protect a lead to the brimmed hats, but by now its not about them any more. It's about her. This girl who starts out the same way he did as a child. Scared and alone, knowing nothing about magic, with something precious stolen by the brimmed hats.

Nothing and no one is going to take his qifling from him now.

(I hope. I really really hope. Im only on chapter 38.)
