The Secret Of Moonlight And The White Cat
[ A long tale of myth, romance, and ancient magical curses. Enjoy the profound story of Apollo's encounter with you, a cat.] BLOOD OF ZEUS
That afternoon, Athens was warmer than usual. The sun was at its zenith, casting such intense rays that the dust on the streets seemed to dance in a golden glow. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the bustling marketplace, a man walked with such graceful steps that people subconsciously stepped aside, making way for him, as if they knew instinctively that the passerby was no ordinary mortal.
It was Apollo, the god of music, truth, and the sun. He was in a contemplative mood, bored with the splendor of Olympus and seeking something "different" in the mortal world.
He stopped in a narrow, shady alley, away from the hustle and bustle of the cloth and olive merchants. There, in a pile of dry straw, he saw something strange. In ancient Greece, cats were rarely seen, usually only the emaciated strays brought by Egyptian traders. But this creature was different.
The creature was a cat with thick, pure white fur, with soft gray markings on its ears and tail—much Its fur did not resemble the fur of a wild animal. It resembled tufts of cloud that had fallen to the earth, or the finest silk woven from a sacred temple.
“How beautiful…” Apollo murmured. His bright golden eyes widened in surprise.
As he approached, the cat—you—opened its eyes. Deep, intelligent sapphire blue eyes stared straight at the god. There was no fear, only a deep sadness behind them. Apollo leaned down, extending his warm hand. When his fingers touched your fur, she let out a breath. Its softness surpassed anything he had ever touched on Olympus. It wasn’t just fur, but something that felt… heavenly, yet trapped.
“Hello, my little one,” Apollo murmured, his voice soft as warm honey. “You truly are a rare miracle. Are you a gift from Artemis? It tastes better than I thought.”
Around the cat’s neck was an ancient silver necklace with a faint moonstone. The cat licked his fingers and then, with a graceful movement, curled up in Apollo’s lap, as if he belonged there. Apollo smiled. His smile was so bright it could reach the entire valley., and for the first time in a long time, the god felt an overwhelming sense of protection. He carried you home to his private temple, a place where the sun always shone brightly.
“ It looks like you’ve found a home, little miracle. Come with me.”
He hugged the cat. The cat didn’t fight. In her cat heart, Y/N felt a desperate, aching mix of fear and hope. This was a god. The God of Truth. If anyone could see through her curse, help her break it, it would be him.
Apollo's residence was a magnificent building made of white marble, decorated with beautiful frescoes and statues. A lyre leaned against the wall.
All afternoon, Apollo spoiled on you. He fed you milk in a golden saucer and let you sleep on a velvet pillow. He felt something strange. You didn't behave like a normal cat. You didn't chase mice or play with string. You just sat by the window, staring at the sky with a pained look, as if waiting for something to be lost.
Apollo didn't know that beneath that graceful and gentle appearance lay a tragedy But all Apollo saw was a pet. He never noticed how your eyes sometimes sparkled with tears. He never suspected that the thin silver necklace was the key to a prison. He saw only the adorable, gentle exterior, completely blind to the tragedy that burned within. You were Y/N. Misfortune had brought you across from Medusa. However, instead of turning you to stone - a cold but swift death - the hated Medusa chose a cruel punishment.
Night fell over Delphi. Apollo sat on the balcony of his temple, strumming his lyre with a melancholic melody. He was disappointed that, despite being the god of prophecy, he could not read the past of this mysterious cat.
“Who are you, little one?” he whispered, stroking your head.
Time passed. The sunlight began to fade, replaced by the orange glow of dusk. Apollo sat on a marble bench, playing his lyre with masterful skill. The melody he played was a song of love and beauty, soft and captivating.
The cat, Lyra (the name Apollo had given her in his memory because her purring voice was like a musical melody), materialized at his feet, listening. Her eyes were closed, but he could hear the trembling that accompanied each note. As Apollo played the last melody, he looked up at Lyra.
“Do you like it, Lyra? I guess I’ll call you Lyra. Your voice is like music.”
You opened your eyes and looked up at Apollo. Purring. Suddenly, the silver chariot of the goddess Selene (the Moon) crossed the sky. The pale, cold moonlight crept onto the balcony, touching the marble floor and finally your white fur.
Apollo was astonished when he saw the jewel on your necklace suddenly shine brightly. The air around you vibrated with dense magical energy. The cat in his arms began to grow. The fur slowly disappeared, turning into smooth skin. Your small legs lengthened into long, human limbs.
In a few seconds, the white cat disappeared. In its place, in front of Apollo sat a beautiful woman in a silk dress, her hair long and snow-white, her sapphire blue eyes now shining with tears.
“Yes… That's me… Apollo.,” your voice came, hoarse from not having spoken for so long.
Apollo dropped his lyre. The usually confident god was stunned and silent. He saw your beauty that surpassed that of angels, but he also saw unusual suffering.
“You... my cat earlier, what happened to you?” Apollo asked in disbelief. He quickly threw his golden robe over your trembling shoulders.
“My name is Y/N,” you whispered, tears streaming down your cheeks. “Medusa… cursed me. I am trapped in the body of this animal every time the sun rises. Only in the moonlight can I be myself.”
You recounted the entire incident. Apollo’s heart sank as he listened. He was the god of the sun. His power was the light of day. And yet, your curse had reduced him to an animal at the height of his power. It was a painful irony. Apollo knelt before you, his hand touching the silver necklace. He felt the magic of Hecate, ancient and merciful.
“This is cruel” he muttered, his jaw clenching.
You had been talking all night. Apollo had heard every detail of your ordeal. He had been mesmerized by your resilience. Under the moonlight, you were no longer just a cute pet, full of intelligence and emotion.
“I will break this curse,” Apollo promised, wiping away your tears. “I will find Medusa, or I will plead with Zeus. You do not deserve to live hidden like this.”
But time was cruel. Dawn was breaking on the eastern horizon. The first pink rays were beginning to appear, signaling the arrival of Apollo’s solar chariot.
“No... no, it’s almost dawn,” you sobbed. You felt your fingers shrink again. “Apollo, please don’t forget me when I transform.”
“I will never forget you, Y/N,” he said seriously. As the first rays of sunlight touched the balcony, the beautiful woman in his arms slowly faded. Your white hair returned to a soft, thick coat, your body shrank, and once again, a beautiful white cat sat on the god’s golden robes.
Apollo looked at the cat. Now he knew that beneath that beauty lay the soul of a woman he loved. He held you tightly, kissing your small forehead.
“You may be my cat by day,” he whispered, “but by night, you are my queen. I will find a way to unite the sun and the moon for your sake.”
From that day on, Apollo never let you out of his sight again. By day, he carried you on his shoulder as he ruled the heavens, caressing your soft fur with a love that would make the other gods jealous. And every night, under the protection of the moon, he waited for you to return to your human form, giving you the love that only a Sun God could give to his brightest star.

Finally It’s been a long time since I wrote about Greek mythology because I was busy with my study. How can I say I love you?
First of all, thank you so much for the 101 (actually 103, haha) followers! When I started this account, I honestly didn’t intend for so many good people to be interested in me, but I’m still so grateful! This is my gift to all of you, and once again, thank you!
