Breakthrough Contemporary Artists

My collage gives insight into the societal pressures to look a certain, and perfect, way as a woman in the digital age. I included a variety of images of women in portraits and several different mirrors. These symbolize how women have to be "picture-perfect" and how we always are looking into the mirror to ensure we look flawless.

In contrast, the piece could be interpreted as looking to many different women with diverse appearances and empty mirrors without expectations for a more positive outlook!

This assignment was very fun, as I liked putting together so many different gold clippings with elegant vibes. I also boiled down some pink flower petals to make a dye to paint the background.

the surrealism part of this artwork is captured by the psychic automatism where the images are placed in no particular order to create a flowing scene which does not have any particular order.

impressionism is depicted by Vincent Van Gogh’s painting in the top right. It depicts some sort of form but stays away from making clear objects.

Renaissance is portrayed with the figure on the left and the two cherubs. This art movement focused on appreciating human life and learning the anatomy and depicting it in the most artistic way possible.

i chose the phrase rural living because when i was younger i did not use technology that much and mainly focused on playing outside especially when we would go to our country house which did not have any service, that is where i have most of my childhood memories

Hi! My name is Anastasia and I am from St. Petersburg, Russia. I moved to Rochester NY when I was 12 and finished high school there! I am a Health Science senior major and will be going to PT school next January in North Carolina. I am also on the tennis team here at Bonaventure. I enjoy watching movies, going for walks, and baking! I also like traveling and have been to 10+ countries throughout my life, but my favorite place was probably Rome.
