Waiting to Binge Attack on Titan is the Best Decision I Ever Made

Watching this show week to week or reading the manga month to month must have been BRUTAL

And from an "artistic" standpoint, there's a lot to be said for consuming this whole series over the course of a week or so. The abject terror that the people of Paradis experience, the sheer cruelty of the narrative towards anyone and everyone in the story, it's A LOT. And by the time Season 3 rolls around you're so numb to the violence. Not unaffected by it, but literally so spent that when your brain/body tries to react there's nothing left in the tank.

Then you get to Season 4 and when you learn Eren's final plan. I haven't finished the series yet (only 7ish episodes to go), but when The Big Reveal for Eren's plans happened, I didn't feel surprised or scared. My first reaction was complete agreement with his course of action. And it felt SO uncomfortable to be in a mental place where Eren Jaeger was making sense.

I think if I'd consumed it as it came out, I wouldn't have been as emotionally involved in the story and Eren would have looked like a villain much earlier. But being so DEEP in it over the last week, the writers, directors, actors, animators, EVERYONE on the team that created Attack on Titan did a phenomenal job putting this viewer in a headspace where Eren Jaeger's philosophy even for a moment seems like an option.

this is a sketch comic i drew last year (November 2023) shortly after finishing Ennie's Lobby and starting a new full time job. I didn't really write a script for it and i finished it in 2 weeks... this is completely unedited and just how i made it a year ago (lol rip good luck)
