"Small dick energy" is not body shaming, FYI. There's a difference between saying someone has a small dick, and saying they have an attitude and personality of someone who believes penis size signals some inherent value, and who has a smaller than average penis

It's an insult that targets the inherent insecurity being displayed, and points at the insecurity being caused by another, deeper, insecurity. Roughly half of people with penises are smaller than the average in size, but only a subset of those exhibit "small dick energy"

It is also almost entirely men who associate dick size with innate worth, and so it's an artificial stigma that's largely self-imposed. Tate, especially, seems like one who would impose this stigma, and thus might be more affected by the insult, but only because of his own attitude and behavior.

If you don't have a job, they say you deserve to be poor.

If you get a job, they say you deserve to be poor for not getting a better job.

If you go to school in hopes of getting a better job, they say you deserve to be in debt for your poor financial decisions.

There's no way to please these monsters. They just want an excuse to believe that some people deserve to suffer for the crime of existing.

They simply believe that poor people deserve to be poor, and come up with post-hoc rationalizations for *why* they deserve to be poor. So, the question is why they believe this in the first place. The answer is that, in order to be successful under capitalism, you have to exploit people and profit from their labor.

The best capitalists understand this intuitively, and so they then have to come up with an excuse for why they exploit so many so as not to seem like a monster to the masses.

The benefit of the "poor people deserve to be poor for their choices" is that it also serves to indoctrinate poor people as well, so they start to buy into the lie. This further stratifies the working class, making it harder for them to have class solidarity with those who are worse off than they are, and so ensuring that the full power of the working class never organizes against the owners and rulers to take back what has been stolen from them.

This is the propaganda capitalism uses to crush resistance, and it's incredibly effective.

I did some math - if every US billionaire gave $1 billion of their wealth, and that $735 billion pot was split evenly between all 38 million people in poverty, each individual could receive $19,342, and there would still be $4 million left over.

It's worth noting that a lot of that wealth is simply "on paper", since it's tied up in assets like property, stocks, etc, rather than being actual cash, so they'd have to sell those assets and get the cash, which would result in the value of the assets decreasing, but it's still worth thinking about, IMO.

I once heard someone argue that people are inherently driven to either command or be commanded. I didn't understand why at the time, but this viewpoint felt deeply wrong to me at the time. Now I understand: the idea that these are the only two states we naturally tend to is a false dichotomy. We are trained into either subservience or domination, depending upon various factors, but it's entirely possible to do neither. Indeed, for us to live truly free lives, we must reject both of these options and choose the freedom of fellowship and community.

The nuclear family is probably the greatest enabler of child abuse, ever.

Putting two people in complete control of another person (who is particularly vulnerable and has few legal rights) and then having no oversight for the whole arrangement is the absolute worst idea.

communal child raising is the traditional family. 70-100 years ago 4 generations lived together in the same house, having 4 grandparents, 6 aunts and 15 cousins around every day was normal.

Things that should be mentioned:

- These communities are not necessarily connected by an biological ties. In a lot of these multigenerational ‘families’, including people in the family who are not relatives or married into the family is totally normal. This has always created a lot more space to support people without families, support people who do now want to partner up and to create communities in which couples who can not have children (like some queer couples but not all & other couples too) can be a part of child raising. 

- Having a lot more young people around often means young people learn from each other. In many cultures young people form a non-hierarchial group that learns together and can do a great deal without adult supervision. 

The nuclear family doesn’t just facilitate abuse, it facilitates hierarchy. It’s a training school for obedience to authority. 

Now, which system would push such a training school strongly so it could get docile obedient citizens? Which system whould push the nuclear family. 

I’m not saying it’s capitalism but it’s capitalism. 

And then there’s the fact that the 2 parent, nuclear family can be most easily pushed into the pattern where one adult works an extremely exhausting job many hours a day that leaves that adult hardly capable of doing anything else, while the other adult takes on all the other things that adult would otherwise have done: care for children, clean the living space, prepare food, prepare clean clothing, etc. for free. What we know as traditional gender roles. 

This way capitalism gets one intensely loyal worker who feels ‘responsible’ for ‘supporting a family’ while all the work to keep that worker going is done for free by an unpaid worker in the home. 

And, you know, communities need a lot less stuff. A community of 50 can do just fine with one or two hammers. 25 nuclear families need 25 hammers. The nuclear family demands a huge amount of commodity purchasing.
