I know,I know,Sam likes almost all of the comments under his Instagram posts, but HE LIKED MINE TOO!
And I'm soooo happy, that he knows, I loved his performance as Adar😍😍
Sorry I'm late (!), but I'm reposting your hauntingly beautiful story 'The girl in the journal' from October 7 2021 tomorrow and I wonder if you are on AO3 by another name as I can't seem to find you on there. I've only been in the Garcy fandom for 18 months now and there's SO much to catch up on.
Hello!
Oh,it's never too late for Garcy fandom!
Unfortunately, I am not on AO3 :( I like to write but I find very little time to do so,and the "Girl in the journal" was a one time piece :(
But I really appreciate that you loved it! Especially that English is not my mother language:) Thank you very much!
There are many wonderful Garcy stories out there (and fanvids on YT),so enjoy!
For Adar and Sam Hazeldine fans!
I have found a podcast episode from early 2022, where Sam speaks about how he became an actor, his dad (who was also an actor), movie and theathre and also very honestly about his troublesome scene with Samuel L. Jackson for more than an hour!!
Here you go (there are some technical problems and a bit of chaos at the beggining, but it worth listening!)
THE WAY he turns around...!!
That stance,the confidence,the sexyness...ah,I can't take it🫠
Sam has such beautiful blue eyes. But we rarely see them, because of the lightning of the series/or because he has many dark(er) scenes?
Anyway, I think in ep.1 and 3 there are some pretty shots of our blue eyed, dark haired Adar daddy❤️
he really does!! (though my personal headcanon Adar is always green-eyed, Sam's eyes are also INCREDIBLE and i would happily get lost in them for DAYS.)
The color treatment of these episodes was kind of garbage for distinguishing eye color, but here was my attempt to edit these a little and make dem peepers pop.
Scientific analysis: HE FINEEEEEEEE.
Ah, thank you for these edits! It is interesting, because in real life Sam has kinda bright blue eyes:
And I agree with the analysis: HE IS FIIIIINE.

“I’ve come to fuck.”
I mean… who am I to dissuade him? 🤷🏻♀️
Apparently I’ve come to be fucked.
Sooo true! I was just casually watching Rings of Power S2,and then this guy comes along:
And I'm like..oops I've fallen for a fictional character again xD
"You know in Superman 2, when he loses his super powers? I felt like it was like that; it’s like his armour is gone and he’s starkly reminded of his fragility – and his “humanity”, in a way, as well. And so he needs Galadriel to take the mantle and to finish the job for him, because he can’t do it." (Sam Hazeldine, The oneringnet)
It is a really interesting sight and take from Sam. And really, in Ep.8, when the ring heals Adar, he really seems vulnerable. Like the darkness has left him and only the elf remains. The elf, who needs the appreciation of the fellow elves, the elf who is concerned for his children and a more peacful world. Sam Hazeldine really gave a wonderful performance, and MY HEART BROKE for him.
The full interview is here: https://www.theonering.net/torwp/2024/10/10/119706-sam-hazeldine-on-the-joys-of-donning-the-adar-mantle/
My King
It is a pattern. I have crush on dark-haired, blue/green eyed,charismatic villains.
1.Adar (Rings of Power, Sam Hazeldine)
2. Dettlaff van der Eretein (Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, Andrew Greenough)
3. Garcia Flynn (Timeless, Goran Visnjic)
4. Sadavir Errinwright (The Expanse, Shawn Doyle)
5. Silco (Arcane, Jason Spisak)
Attractive men on Rings of Power S2:
1. Elendil
He is still my favourite! His voice, his eyes, also his devotion to his queen🥺🥹
2. Elrond
The bravest, most honest, nicest guy in Lindon.
3.Gil-galad
I loved his sarcastic humour in S2!I would have fought for him!
4. Adar
My new favourite. Dark haired,blue-eyed...say no more.
Who do would you add to the list?

Dettlaff Van Der Eretein - an ISFP (?)
I have searched the Witcher personality database for Dettlaff, and apparently, he is an ISFP.
I for Introverted
That is hard to argue with. He is shy and quiet, he prefers the lesser vampire's company rather than the humans'. I imagine that his pack is smaller than other higher vampire's but he is also deeper attached to them.
S for Sensing
He is focused and practical. He concentrates on getting things done rather than thinking about the bigger picture or reflecting on concepts. He kills if it means he can have his love back, without a second thought.
F for Feeling
Dettlaff is incredibly sensitive and passionate. He is more emotional than humans and make decisions upon his emotions. He loves deeply and unconditionally.
P for Perceiving
Correct again - Dettlaff acts impulsively and unpredictably, driven by his emotions.
However, the ISFP are said to be open-minded, friendly and tolerant. This is very much not Dettlaff: he doesn't like people, and he has a black and white view of morality, and once hurt, he can only sees solution/revenge as solution. This is my main problem with this analysis. In my view, he is shy and sensitive and at first distrustful towards strangers (and humans). But if he takes someone in his confidence, he is a loyal friend and companion. But betray him and you shall regret it for life..
What do you think? Is Dettlaff an ISFP? Or another personality type? (heh, other than sensitive and dangerous, handsome vampire).
He is so beautiful. And so sad.
Hello there!
First of all, I just wanted to say that I love your page, and the "Alone together" Dettlaff fic! It is very well written, and I love every chapter!I read slowly -the longer it takes to read, the better!
When and how did you become a Dettlaff fan? Was there any specific scene or moment when you felt "omg, this guy is NOT the monster - he is perfect!" 🫠😅
Hi! Pardon the late reply, busy start of the week.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed AT! Still can't believe that I knocked out over 90k for a witcher reader insert, but y'know, when lockdown hits, you're bound to make some choices which you wanna stick with until the end to see where they'll carry you. It was loads of fun to write and it warms my heart to know that people continue to enjoy it.
As for when I began liking Dettlaff... Probably around when my Witcher 3 phase really hit during the 2020 lockdown. I felt (still feel) a lot of sympathy for him and his circumstances, his desire to just live in peace and make toys contrasted with how he was manipulated and how the ending where he dies is considered the happy one when it felt more like putting down an angry, sick dog. Sure, beating the bossfight was a challenge but it did NOT feel satisfying - in fact, it played into the narrative which you see a few times in the series: the mastermind behind the scheme/real cause of the harm walks free while the tool/scapegoat is put to the blade. And it's not fair, and it's how it is a lot of the time, but I feel like the happy ending could've been a subversion of that by letting us spare both Dett and Syanna.
Oh, Syanna. I actually don't hate her as much as I used to because critical analysis eventually powered through the fog of vampire simping and yearning emojis. She is a troubled character, one who was deeply hurt and carried that resentment with her all those years. I understand her, even if I don't approve of her actions (same with Dettlaff - he's hardly an innocent puppy), but I do wish she was written better because I feel like the latter half of the expansion fell back a little writing-wise and her character suffered because of that. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely support women's wrongs, but these wrongs have got to be properly written, and I'd love to take a stab at a more reciprocated Dett/Syanna down the line, but for now my witcher brainworms are asleep so she's out of luck.
To be honest, if I were to rewrite AT today, I would attempt to... not necessarily redeem her, but pull her out of the bandity environment which shaped her into who she is and allow her to let go of all that a little as y/n's and Dettlaff's friend (I still MOURN that she was using him. They could've had the TASTIEST Alucard/Integra or Sylas/Delilah dynamic of devoted vampire boytoy & his girlboss wife who kisses the blood off his lips.) Then, when the B&W timeline rolls around, there's no Beast of Beauclair, but Regis gets a visit from an old friend and his two girlfriends, explaining that GF2 is here to visit her sister while GF1 really wants to discuss literature so if he had any recommendations for properties for rent around Beauclair, they'd be grateful - they wanna set up shop.
Dettlaff: "I'm a vampire."
Syanna: "I'm an exiled princess and daughter of the black sun. Also my name is actually Syanna."
Y/N, blinking: "Okay you two, thanks for trusting me with this, please know that I don't love either of you any less because of it, but also AM I THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT A TERRIBLE SECRET AROUND HERE?"
Syanna: "I mean, you do read copious amounts of vampire erotica."
Dettlaff, suddenly red in the face: "You WHAT."
Thank you for the answer! I would really like to read more fic from you!
Actually, I'm a bit biased in the question of Syanna and Dettlaff. I never liked her - I understand that she had a hard life, but using and manipulating people to do the dirty work is just disgusting. (And seriously - using a vampire?!What was she thinking?!).
And yes, I have a thing for tall, dark-haired, sensitive men with blue eyes xD Yes, I know, Dettlaff killed innocents in the city - living out your heartbreak on a city and killing people definately not the best coping mechanism. :D
Still. I love this guy.
On final note, I just found this music and I think it is the perfect one for Dettlaff. If charachters have a song, this is his:
