Welcome

I haven't been able to call a place home for that long since I left my parent's house six years ago. One year at Somers in DC. One year at my makeshift home of Carrollton, Charlottesville. Two years in 2006, Charlottesville. One year in Woodbridge. One year in Richmond.

Now, I'm guaranteed three years here (as long as I don't eff up). This sense of comparative permanence is unfamiliar.. but I like it. I like that I don't have thoughts of.. Oh, I don't need to unpack because I'll be leaving soon. Oh, I don't need to care because I'll be leaving soon. Oh, I don't need to make a decision for myself because I'll be leaving soon. For once, in a long time, I don't have that awareness of transience, and I am glad that it is here and it is now. I am so glad that I have regained a sense of control and empowerment.

There is a place and time for everything.
