Her past wasn’t something she liked to think of too often. Lost love and heartbreak were things she didn’t like to keep on her mind. She’d always been a bit soft at heart so having people walk all over it was the greatest pain she’d ever felt. Though with Jan everything was different. There was no pain or heartache, just pure unfiltered love.
Janet was something she’d basically prayed for her entire life. She’d been her best friend, the other half that had made her whole. While she’d been fond of others, she’d never loved anyone like Jan. Other love felt so insignificant now that she had the other woman, and she’d never look back on any of it again. Jan was her past, present and future, one of the only constants in her life. To wake up beside her in the morning and fall asleep in her arms at night, it was truly a dream come true.
She hummed lightly as hands drew through golden curls, a gentle smile tugging at her lips. “Sounds like a perfect day then.” She spoke softly, nuzzling closer to the other when she noticed tears in her eyes. “It was always meant to be us. Since the beginning the world was pushing us together. You’re my perfect person, always have been and always will be.”
Janet wasn’t one to stick inconveniences to her mind like glue, but when it came to Aubrey and the past that she had to endure, those memories unfortunately stuck to her forever. No matter who she was with, she vowed every single second of her day to protect Aubrey from any of that pain. She wouldn’t forgive herself if Aubrey was hurt in any way, shape, or form.
Janet’s love for Aubrey had grown so much over the years. From the moment she spotted her playing piano and singing when she was around thirteen years old, she felt instantly attracted to her like no other. Of course back then, she wasn’t aware of her true nature, but as time passed, she realized it wasn’t just a super close bond, it was love. Aubrey was her everything. To know that she had the privilege to hold her in her arms, kiss her, and give her love every day was a blessing.
She sniffled trying to hold back tears. Janet was one that was never super soft, but she couldn’t help herself looking at the love of her life. “It always was, wasn’t it?” she said with a chuckle as a tear escaped her eye and fell. “I just--I love you so much. I’m just so damn lucky to call you mine,” she added giving her cheeks soft kisses, eventually reaching her lips.
