Grammar Points
Passive verb conjugation (拾う➝拾われる)
ちゃ = informal contraction of では that functions as a conditional statement
Short form verb conjugation (~た = plain past tense)
~んだ (casual, spoken form of のだ; used to provide an explanation or to emphasize a point)
~がる (expresses someone's desire or wish in the third-person, meaning someone else wants to do something)
~みたい (looks like; seems like)
Question: How does 生きていけない work? 生きて is the て form of the verb 生きる, but what is the いけない ending? It's not 〜てはいけない so what is it? A search online revealed it could be the potential form of the verb 行く, which is 行ける, meaning "to be able to go" or "to be able to do something." Is this correct? 🤔
I found the first three volumes of チーズスィートホーム can currently be read for free on bookwalker, so I had a look at the panel in question:
「こんなに小さくちゃひとりじゃ生きていけないわよね。」 is the full context.
And from what I can tell, you are right that it could be the negative potential of 「~ていく」. A tentative translation would be "Being so small, you can't go on living by yourself".
Please note: It could still be 「~てはいけない」. Both would make sense here. Sometimes a particle like は is dropped even though it usually isn't in this case. And (rarely) even published mangaka miss a key or make a mistake in their native language.
Since I understood what was being said here but not really why, I asked my walking, talking dictionary about this and he said in this case it's ~ていける (potential positive) made into ~ていけない (potential negative). So in this case, as @dokushoclub said, "you can't go on living alone". Here it's not that it's "not allowed" as in ~てはいけない, it's just that you are so smol so you can't possibly uwu.
For example, when your favorite anime ends, you might not be able to go on living, so you can say 生きていけないよ uwu so that might be another instance when you use this phrase.
Hope this is helpful!

"OMG why is there TIKTOK??? IN THE SHREK UNIVERSE?" <- person who has never seen shrek before
shrek has always been full of pop culture references. you just think it's cringe now because you're 20+ years older. now shut up and enjoy shrek's lesbian daughter voiced by zendaya and pinocchio making thirst trap edits of shrek twerking on tiktok
this is a neat way to find out about Shrek 5
