~heated rivalry fic masterlist~
standalones:
there were moments of gold (there were flashes of light) (13152): a case study in the secrecy to transparency pipeline. five times Shane and Ilya had to hide their relationship from the world, and one time they didn't have to. has made at least one person cry on public transit (that I know of).
ahead by a century (2140): no one knows how old Scott Hunter is, and at this point they're too afraid to ask. pure feel-good comedy featuring the Centaurs gang. if you've ever wished heated rivalry fanfiction featured more Gritty, this might be the one for you.
simmer in the letdown (3915): episode 4 ptsd (post tuna melt stress disorder) told through the pov of Hayden Pike. he may not be the most observational motherfucker around, but he knows something is up.
some of the boys got loaded drunk (and they ain't been sober yet) (2121): the Centaurs get plastered on St Patrick's Day, Ilya accidentally tries to adopt an (adult) coworker. 99% crack 1% might make you cry.
we're overdue for a revival (2080): Luca comes out to his dads. if you've ever wanted to read a story that was conceptualized and outlined at a truck stop in Edmunston NB, this is the one for you.
the country of me and you (2143): fellas is it gay to be agonizing over wanting your situationship to send you a happy birthday text???? asking for my good friend Ilya Rozanov.
left at the graveyard (i'm driving past ghosts) (2312): Ilya visits his mother's grave for the last time. not even going to pretend this one didn't absolutely devastate me to write.
it's not a conspiracy theory if it's true (9411): Luca Haas is a fourteen year old NHL prospect obsessively studying his heroes in an attempt to one day become them. But over the course of his research he starts…noticing things. And it turns out he’s not the only one.
rewrite the stars (series link):
des plus brillants exploits (28772): what it's like to get everything you wanted, but not necessarily in the way you'd expect. an exploration of love and loss and then things that remain constant along the way. quite possibly my favourite thing I have ever written. sequel currently in development!
common ground (series link):
and the dial tone is all i have (6096): Shane (unsurprisingly) takes hi, this is Ilya, I will never listen to your voicemail to its literal extreme.
take me back (to places i feel loved in) (3304): two dudebros struggle to have a conversation. (Ilya tells his team that he's signing with Ottawa. Cliff Marleau demands answers, and he gets them.)
let it shatter the walls (for a new sun) (11520): the league resurrects the infamous Summit Series between Canada and Russia. navigating this as secret rivals-turned-lovers is about as borderline impossible as you would expect. can also be experienced as a standalone.
maybe it's the air out here (5274): the Ilya Rozanov depression character study nobody asked for.
