This goes Beyond me Beyond You
Shine on Starman! Iâm pretty sure your light wonât ever dim and it will continue to inspire all that it needs to inspire, just like how it inspired me and countless of artists/musicians I adore. I mean I donât think I can be called a Bowie âsuperfanâ, other than the latest album and his classic singles, I think I mostly just have the album âLowâ on repeat, but the scale of his influence is inescapable in a lot of artists I admire, and the artistic mark he put in pop culture is truly beautiful. When I heard the news I was in a state of complete enchantment of the new album âBlackstarâ, such beautiful compositions, and such intriguing imagery surrounding it, especially the music videos. In addition to painting a music mandala out of it (just 2 days before the sad news..), I already planned to make a portrait of Mr. Bowie, just because of the listening binge, and the feeling of utter amazement to an aging artist that never fails in reinventing himself. Â Turns out this portrait must mean something more now, just like how the lyrics in Blackstar ârevealsâ itself more after the artist have died. Excited to see what other fruits of your everlasting performance would grow in the whole of the art world, and thank you for the music and the magic! --- "Blackstar (portrait of David Bowie)" By Andra Semesta, 2016 [Pen and pencil on paper]

This time last year, I released the Green of Life EP "Weird Peace" on my bandcamp (http://greenoflife.bandcamp.com/album/weird-peace), and it was later released on yesnowave.com in the beginning of 2015. I guess, as far as I'm concerned, it didn't enjoy much popularity, but still I'm satisfied with releasing it since it's a deeply personal album and unleashing it really felt like turning a brand new page in my life. 2015 has proven to be a very special year for me creatively and I feel the need to spiritually thank this particular creation for opening some inner doors that I feel helped quite a lot in reaching that fruitfulness. Happy 1st bday WEIRD PEACE! I would also like to thank the listeners throughout the year that has given feedback and voiced their fondness to the songwriting in the album, mostly towards "The Crossing Song" or "My Family" haha. I'm really glad that you feel those songs!!! it means so much to me đđ. You can never know when a new Green of Life output will appear since the project is naturally driven with things that my heart needs to let out.. (And I'm focusing more on my visual art), but I can assure you that the green of life will keep on growing đ±
Other memorable albums I really enjoyed this year that didn't get to my top 8. It's a really great year for music tho.. A lotta album that didn't get here have great moments in it as well.. Just didn't listen to them as much.
