You’re Here Now
There’s a part in Amanda Palmer’s incredible book The Art of Asking where the phrase “you’re here now” is used. It’s a small, quiet moment that made waves inside of me when I heard her say it. I knew I could make something beautiful with it when the time was right.
The You’re Here Now trilogy was originally going to be a booklet that I would design, my love letter to the city of Portland, Oregon. It organically turned into a video series that I filmed, edited, and scored over the space of about three days. The series is a culmination of a lot of blood, sweat, and tears throughout my life while learning how to create music, film and edit videos, and communicate my feelings through these mediums to convey important life lessons this city has taught me.Â
As a kid who grew up in a small town and could only dream of doing big things in far off places there is no greater comfort in the world than to hear, from the city that has my heart, the words “you’re here now”.
P1. You’re Here Now : Here Now
