"The Price of Justice" by Shelby Pryor.
The Price of Justice is a thriller/mystery about a young woman named Justice Taylor who becomes a Texas Ranger in spite of the sexual and physical abuse she endured as a child. But when spontaneous murders of young girls who look alarmingly like Justice as a teenager start happening, Justice is thrown in as leader of the case, all while handling severe PTSD and GAD due to every crime reminding her of her childhood. But when Justice goes undercover to find the serial killer who is becoming a national threat, she's slammed back into her past full force. With a shocking climax and plenty of room for a sequel, "The Price of Justice" is a must read.
Okay so last August I got the first Hunger Games book from the library. I'd never read it or watched it and was honestly curious to see what all the fuss was about.
And then I read it.
I was hooked. But I had ONLY GOTTEN the first book in case I didn't like. So my sister-in-law, who was a huge fan of the books, lent me Catching Fire and Mockingjay. I finished both within a couple of days. Shortly after, I watched the first movie. Then all of them, for free on Prime.
But I was broke, so I couldn't buy the books like I wanted to SOOOO BADLY. But then, just a week ago, I discovered a website called ThriftBooks. It sells used books and movies. I got all three books and three of the movies (I already had the first movie) for like 27 dollars.
So, long story short, prepare to see a lot more THG posts from me.
If you see this you’re legally obligated to reblog and tag with the book you’re currently reading
"Oh, darling. Didn't anyone ever tell you not to play with guns?" "Who said I was playing?"
~The Price of Justice by Shelby Pryor.
There's nothing like the satisfaction you get from watching Coriolanus in BOSAS and then binging the rest of THG series and completely watching him die a little inside every time Katniss does something. Because we know that EVERYTHING she did reminded him of his past. Of Sejanus, of Lucy Gray, and even of himself. When he watched the District 12 Reaping, don't you think he remembered that conversation with Lucy Gray by the lake. When he saw 12's quaint traditions, such as the three-finger salute, don't you think it reminded him of Sejanus? And, most importantly, when Katniss could have killed Peeta, left him to die, SHE DIDN'T. She made the choice Snow didn't. And I believe, in that moment, that's when he REALLY began to hate her.
Illusion of Equality
Anger coursing through my veins At the injustices that surround 'Equality for all' a fine idea One that the world resounds
I suppose it's equality at work When you look at the labor force Instead of looking any better The statistics are looking worse
A man curses in public He is applauded, but A girl says the same thing And she's dubbed a slut
Parents teach their boys To fight for themselves The girls are trained To wish their bullies well
This will not be admitted They will say I'm wrong 'Equality is real,' they say And try to destroy my song
And as I pen these words Some will likely be bound To tell me it's incorrect And I need to calm down
Women's history month For freedom gained politically But yet, in our communities Equality is only a simile
It's reminding the women To be grateful for today For if this were the past Life wouldn't be this way
I don't care if things are better They are still not right We need to stop cheering And stand up and fight
Fight for equality at work For protection at home Fight for respect at church Or even when you're alone
Ladies, our freedom is won But our equality is not We can't exstinguish the torch Of those who have fought
And as I speak these words And into your eyes I stare Know we haven't won yet We're only halfway there
Haymitch, angrily: Katniss, come here! why don’t you do what I say??!?! Katniss: oh my god what did I do now??? Effie: he’s not calling you, dear Katniss: ??? Effie: Haymitch calls the most aggressive goose like that Katniss: Haymitch: you should feel honored. [points at one solitary, furious goose] that one’s Johanna. she doesn’t let me approach her and I’m terrified of her to be honest Johanna: what the fuck man
There's a goose that runs around herding everyone and honking all the time.
Haymitch named that one Effie.
YES YES AAAHHH!! living for these headcanons tbh
One of the males keeps presenting to the females but keeps being turned down.
Haymitch named that one General Hawthorne, to Peeta's delight.
YO THAT'S WILD AF😭😭😭 do it again.
When the toastbabies are born, Peeta pisses Haymitch off by suggesting really cutsie names like "Beaker", "Fluffers", or "Mr. Waddles" to his daughter when naming the new batch of goslings.
Haymitch hates it but he is literally incapable of saying no to that little girl, so the names stick.
That's so sweet😭😭😭
There's one who struts around more like a peacock than a goose. That one's Finnick.
"Oh, darling. Didn't anyone ever tell you not to play with guns?" "Who said I was playing?"
~Justice Taylor, The Price of Justice by Shelby Pryor
I think the most brilliant part of The Hunger Games movies is how we see things so often from the Capitol's perspective. In the books, all we knew was what Katniss knew. But in the movies, almost all of the footage was through the Capitol's eyes. The bloodbath? Could have easily been one of the cameras in the arena. The scene where Katniss dropped the Tracker Jacker nest on the Careers? Same thing. And the most incredible part, it gives us an unbiased perception of the characters. We see them not only how Katniss saw them, but how they really are. We see the good and the bad Katniss may have overlooked. We also see the effects Katniss's actions had on others, even when she didn't. And to me, that is brilliant.
Some relevant movies and tv shows that should be boycotted:
Stranger Things: Noah Schnapp claimed zionism is sexy and Hamas is ISIS and liked videos on twitter mocking Palestinian people; actor Brett Gelman and producer Shawn Levy are zionists and both support Schnapp
The Last Of Us: israeli politics in The Last Of Us Part 2; Neil Druckmann openly supports israel
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Rick Riordan, the author of the books has made zionist comments neutral to Israel and the genocide
The Umbrella Academy: Aidan Gallagher openly supported Israel on instagram with a post "I stand with Israel", post is now deleted
Deadpool 3: Shawn Levy, the director of the movie is a zionist
Dune 2: Timothee Chalamet made a joke on SNL about the genocide in Palestine
Any Disney movies and shows including Inside Out 2, PJO, The Eras Tour movie, Moana 2, Marvel content: Disney is funding Israel, it has been announced that a new Israeli superhero will be joining the MCU
If you support Palestine, boycott zionist companies and stop funding them. Besides, there are many ways to watch the newest movies without paying a cent.

But what's so wrong with supporting Israel?
Yeah, yeah, I get it. Most people are on Hama's side. But there are people who support Israel too. Just because someone doesn't agree with your political viewpoint is no reason to boycott them. This is why we have RIGHTS. Some people are not going to agree with you, but that's their right. You will not agree with some people, but that's your right. It is okay to disagree, it is NOT okay to publicly slander your opposition simply because they have a different viewpoint. Stop fighting over sides and start fighting together for peace.
Do have any idea what the purpose of a boycott is? Boycotts are organized specifically because there is either a difference of political opinion or disagreement with a business' policies. That has literally always been the case because the goal of a boycott is ultimately to bring around a change in a company.
Also, do you know what a boycott even is? It just means you don't buy a product or service from a specific business. That's it. You want to talk about rights? It's everyone's right to not buy something from a company they don't like, and if someone doesn't like that a company is supporting Israel, then that's a good enough reason for someone to boycott them. You're acting like a boycott is some kind of legal status a government can apply instead of a group of people with shared political opinions refusing to buy a specific product.
Sure, you can argue if something actually warrants being boycott, and people often do have those kinds of debates. But your argument is essentially "You should still buy products from companies you disagree with" which is just an absurd political argument. And by absurd, I mean that there would be bipartisan agreement that if you don't want to buy something from a specific company then you don't have to. I can't think of a single political party that's never at least tried to boycott something.
And if even after all this you're thinking "What about people who still support Israel? What are they supposed to do?" they don't participate in these boycotts! Participating in a boycott isn't legally enforced! They lose nothing by other people choosing to boycott these products except that the company may change who it supports!
Lastly and most importantly:
Why are you treating the Israel and Palestinian like they're opposing sports teams?
"Why is a company supporting Israel bad?" because Israel is currently committing genocide. They've dropped white phosphorus in areas with dense civilian populations, they consistently target places of cultural value (Mosques, churchs, schools, libraries, government buildings that deal with record keeping, etc), and at this very moment they are dropping bombs on Rafah which at this point is largely a tent city with 1.5 million civilians. 13,000 children have died in the past 4 months because of Israel. No matter what your opinion on Hamas is it is utterly unacceptable to support the slaughter of 13,000 children.
That is why there are boycotts against companies that are supporting Israel. It's not a matter of "They don't share my political beliefs" it's a matter of "They are supporting genocide in one way or another."
No, that is NOT my argument. At all. I know exactly what boycotting is. And I agree it is an individual's and a political group's right. Is DOESN'T have to be enforced by a government. If we all listened to the government we'd be in even deeper trouble than we are right now. If you want to boycott Disney, or Stranger Things, or whatever, that's your choice. But at the same time, it isn't right to attack those who DON'T boycott those people because they agree with them. I totally agree with you boycotting those people, but I don't agree with you or me or anyone else slandering other people simply because they don't.
