Vince sighed when Andrei left to get them a table and just ordered the same thing he was ordering and an extra order of cheese fries to share if he wanted before paying and finding him to sit down with him. He rubbed his neck as they talked together again, tossing the buzzer onto the table. He was going to answer Andrei’s suggestions but was suddenly much more invested with Andrei’s own statements about himself. “Never anything with anyone?” he asked, all wide eyed. He was going to press the matter further, his drunkenness enabling him to be brazen, but he just shook his head and raised his hand. “No, I’m sorry, you don’t have to say anything about that, it’s your life and your body and your choices and all that,” he said hurriedly, waving it off and hopefully waving off Andrei’s uncomfortableness. “But I can fuckin’ ramble all I want ‘cause fuck my life,” he laughed, resting his arms on the table and then resting his chin on them, looking up at Andrei. “I don’t know if I could try that. I think about how I’d react to seeing her talking with other guys like that and it really fucks me up.” Vince rubbed his face and cleared his throat a little, grimacing at the bad taste still in the back of his throat. “I’m the kind of guy that… I’m very… Equilibrium is very important to me, yknow?” he began, laughing a little at his own use of the fancy word. “I mean, like, I will first extend every courtesy to someone because I want and expect them to extend every courtesy back to me, but if discourtesy is first extended to me, then I will extend every discourtesy in return, it’s only fair. and I would never do that discourtesy to Sam.” Vince didn’t even really register that he’d used her name because the buzzer on their food started to light up and move and he gasped excitedly and started trying to get out of his chair. After getting his own legs a little tangled with the legs of his chair, he’d finally made it up to the counter where he could grab the tray of their food and turn the buzzer back in. He brought everything back to their table, the tray initially almost sliding off the edge. “Sorry, sorry about that,” he laughed as he sat back down with Andrei. “I got some cheese fries, you can share with me,” he said cheerfully, grabbing one and popping it into his mouth. He was very used to sharing food whether it be with his cousins or Sam and he was just used to it, it never crossed his mind that Andrei might not like that. “Anyways, where were we?” he asked, licking cheese off the corner of his mouth. “Oh, shit, I’m sorry, I didn’t think to get us drinks… Did you want a soda or a milkshake? I was just gonna get some water for free,” he said as he continued to dig into the cheese fries. “Maybe I should be hella corny and just like… I don’t know… fuckin’… declare my feelings on Valentine’s day or something,” he muttered, pouting down at his food for a while, but then he remembered himself and laughed a little. “That’s lame, isn’t it?” he asked as he looked back up at Andrei, rubbing his neck a little. “I’m gonna - I’ll get us drinks and condiments,” he quickly offered, taking their food off the tray so he could use it to carry their drinks and condiments back to the table. He spent a while getting every condiment because he realized he hadn’t asked Andrei what condiments he wanted and he just wanted to be considerate. As for himself, he liked to mix mayonnaise into his ketchup, like his mom. He returned to the table and he and Andrei carefully removed their drinks and condiments from the tray now that there wasn’t room for everything on the table. “You alright?” he asked when they were finally all settled, stretching his legs out and putting his feet up on the other side of Andrei in the booth they were sitting in of his own comfort. He was used to being comfortable when he ate, sharing food, and eating with his hands because he usually shared meals with friends and people he cared about. Unfortunately, he was still too drunk to notice or care if Andrei was uncomfortable with any of that. “Are you not hungry?” Vince asked when he saw Andrei wasn’t eating yet. “I just ordered you a Shack Stack like I’ve got. Cheeseburger and a ’Shroom Burger topped with lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce. The mushroom is filled with cheese and fried, it’s the bomb,” Vince assured, picking up his own burger for a bite. “Look, man, I know I’m kinda drunk and also your fraternity vice president, but I mean, you can speak freely, yknow, I won’t mind,” he said after a few bites, reaching over to pat Andrei’s arm resting on the table before going for more cheese fries.
