Helloooo I REALLY love your Nanami scenarios I'm ascending 🥹
This one is silly but I've been hyperfixated (? Can I even use the word 😞) on teen Nanami and how he'd react or act when he has a crush on Reader and how innocent his young puppy love relationship would be 🥺
Like he's all being mysterious, nonchalant, only expression he knows is knitting those eyebrows together so much I bet they made a scarf or a sweater (bad joke ehe) ANYWAY SO like I imagine him being so confused, awkward and uncomfortable with these feelings he has for us/the Reader. I feel like that at first he'd avoid and be annoyed by us but as time passes and the feelings start to catch... 👀 And the confession? As if he'd had the big balls to. I imagine it as him plucking a flower from a bush and shoving it in our face without any words, face turned to the side while a new colour red is found on his blushing face, and he'd probably keep it a secret between the reader and him because it'll be embarrassing for others to know about (especially Gojo)
It's okay if you don't want to write about teen Nanami tho but hopes up 🤞 take your time if you do end up doing it, have a great day/night (~ ̄³ ̄)~
I swear teen Nanami is so adorable. Like, he looks so awkward in an extremely cute way.
So here you go lovely anon, a story told by an embarrassed husband.
The celebration was over. The warm lights of the ballroom glowed in an intimate atmosphere, the waltz was behind you, and you and Nanami finally had a moment to yourselves: newlyweds, sitting together, wine glasses in hand, a lifetime of happiness shimmering at your fingertips.
But the peace doesn't last long when Itadori Yuji approaches with that curious, almost childlike smile and sits down across from you, his eyes brimming with excitement.
“So, Nanamin…” he says, leaning forward, “how did you two start dating? What was the exact moment of romance?!”
Nanami nearly chokes on his wine.
His eyebrow twitches. He turns to you, searching for a lifeline. You take a sip from your glass, glance at Yuji with amusement… and then simply tap Nanami on the knee, as if to say: go ahead, darling.
There's a beautiful resignation when he sighs and lets his shoulders soften.
"Well… if you really want to know, Itadori-kun…" he says, already resigned to enduring the embarrassment of his life.
Yuji braces himself as if he's about to hear a cursed, forbidden-level technique.
Nanami lowers his gaze to his glass… and begins.
Many years ago — Jujutsu High
Nanami was a serious teenager. Too serious. More concerned with his mission as a sorcerer and the injustice of the world than with… anything related to adolescence.
Until he saw you for the first time.
His frown deepened when you were near, as if he were trying to force his heart to behave. But he failed every day. He helped you without being asked, he put himself in front of any danger, and the most noticeable change was in his eyes: every time he saw you, they seemed… alive.
He sees you and something strange happens in his chest:
an uncomfortable pressure, as if he's forgotten to breathe.
His logical reaction: avoid the threat.
If you're in the hallway, he takes another route.
If you're in the library, he immediately changes his table.
If you look up, he stares at a wall as if it were incredibly interesting.
If you approach him to talk, he answers in monosyllables and leaves.
A teacher makes a casual comment:
“You're different, Nanami. More distracted lately.”
He looks to the side and… there you are. Smiling at something a friend told you.
And then comes the epiphany:
That day he can't concentrate. Not on cursing. Not on calculations. Not on anything. His schedule is impeccable, but there's no way he can plan how to talk to you without dying.
Kento begins a strategic plan as if it were a high-stakes mission.
Very subtle actions like:
Passing by when you walk by, as if by chance.
Saving you a chair in class without saying a word.
Leaving your favorite drink on your desk… and running away before you can ask.
Gojo saw him one time and since then he hounds him with detective-like questions:
“So you like the ones with pretty smiles, huh, Nanamin?~”
Nanami swears he's going to kill him… when this is over.
Each day he avoids you less.
Each day he looks at you a little more.
His heart no longer feels sick… it feels alive.
One day, he found you alone under a tree in the schoolyard. His measured steps approached from behind, and when he stood before you, he was as red as a tomato… holding an awkward bouquet of flowers he'd picked from the school garden in one hand. His other hand was pressed rigidly against his side, as if supporting himself was the only thing keeping him from collapsing.
"I… think you're beautiful," he managed to say, in the most serious voice a boy in love could muster. "My heart races every time I see you, and… I wanted you to know."
You accepted the flowers, smiling, and kissed him on the cheek.
He froze. He literally stood stiff as a statue. His breath caught in his throat as if time itself had decided to play a trick on him.
"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!" Gojo shouted from the classroom window, grinning from ear to ear. "NANAMIN HAS A GIRLFRIEND!!!"
Nanami wanted to disappear from existence itself. But you were still holding his flowers so delicately… that nothing else mattered.
When the story ends, Nanami clears his throat, very aware that his face is barely less red than before. He clears his throat and looks at Yuji with resignation, but also with a rare pride:
"And that was it, Itadori-kun. More than a decade together."
His arm slides around your waist, pulling you closer with that discreet, protective gesture only he can make. You rest your head on his shoulder, and he kisses your temple with a tenderness that speaks of all those years shared.
Yuji watches you two with sparkling eyes and an almost dreamy smile.
"Wow…" he murmurs, "That's so cool! I want something like that too! Right now! A teenage romance… a love for life!"
You let out a soft laugh. Nanami closes his eyes, slightly regretting having told the story… because now Yuji seems ready to fall in love in any hallway, with anyone who breathes.
But even so, no matter how embarrassed he is…
Nanami looks at you, and the satisfaction in his eyes is impossible to hide.
Because the frowning boy… got exactly the love his heart longed for from the first day he saw you.
