Go on; tell me all lives matter.
Go on; tell me that we don't need to march anymore.
Go on; tell me that protesting is cause of violence and destruction.
Tell me that while you sit in front of your computer comfortable as all hell in your little ball of privilege
Tell me that while you turn off your TV or make horrendous comments about how people are "overreacting."
Tell me that while there are murderers who are still walking free because our justice system decided the people whose blood is on their hands deserved death.
They would've cause problems later in life anyways.
Go on and tell me that most crimes against black people are done by other black people.
Go on and tell me that while white males are shooting up elementary schools and movie theaters.
While a white man stalks a black teenage boy because he's wearing a hoodie.
While a white cop stops a black teenager for a crime he didn't commit and shoots him to death.
While a white cop shoots a black cop because he thought he was committing a crime.
Where you can sit there and smile and say you don't see color.
Honey, I hate to break it to you, but color is there.
And there's nothing wrong with being a different color.
There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that we have differences.
You say you don't see color so you can feel better about your blatant racism.
Hiding in a twitter or facebook post saying you agree with the courts.
Saying the Mike Brown deserved it.
Tamar Rice, age 12, deserved it.
Where you mock and groan at the plight of the peaceful protesters,
Who have set out to make their voices heard,
And instead are treated like criminals.
While the few criminals taking advantage of a sad situation,
Are getting the media coverage so people like you can roll your eyes.
"I'm tired of hearing about Ferguson."
"No one listens to me when I say that kid deserved it."
"There's way too many facts proving that Darren Wilson was in the right."
I'm tired of feeling like I don't belong.
I'm tired of wondering what my worth is.
I'm tired of being afraid.
That's all there is to it.
Go on; tell me that all lives matter.
Because they really don't.
They only matter when it's convenient for you
So you can sleep easier at night.
All lives only matter so you can justify the systematic murder of anyone who is different,
Be it because of the Bible
Or just because of racist, assholes who decide to join the police force.
All lives only matter because white people aren't being slaughtered.
All lives only matter because none of this affects you, so why should you care?
Go on and tell me that all lives matter.
Because if you were paying attention,
You'd know that they don't.
