Is there a fanfic set in Hogwarts where Draco is already in love with Hermione and Harry and Ron starts to figure this out? Obviously they grew up, on 7th or 8th year maybe, but they are still “enemies” and not in good terms, at least with Draco. Theo and Mattheo has never been the one to give too much thought on blood purity and they’ve never been explicitly racist towards Hermione. I’d love to read a fic where the whole slytherin gang knows about this.
They sometimes tease Draco but always keep it quiet since it’s an important matter for their friends. And like, Hermione is wondering why she gets stares from the most popular slytherin boys in school all the time. Until a while ago it was only Theo who knew but when Mattheo mentioned them about potentially hitting on Granger they couldn’t help but tell him about Draco’s infatuation. Mattheo is the real “playboy” of slytherin, he doesn’t mind which house the girls are from or their family background. Blaise had already guessed.
Imagine Ron and Harry starts to suspect things although it’s hard to believe this is real, but there’s just no other explanation of Draco’s stares at her during classes and the way he stopped being so childish all of a sudden. He’s still mean and unpleasant but at least not the horrible bully he used to be. Ron tries for a few time to wrap his arms around Hermione and check Draco’s reaction and what he sees in Draco’s eyes only confirms his suspicions. Things would get really messy when Ron starts to get touchy with Herm intentionally in front of Draco. Not anything inappropriate, but just enough to remind Draco that he’s the one who’s close to her.
