HI CUTIES HOW’RE YA! Thank you @dizzymisslizzie for the tag today!
We have a lot going on right now! Just moved into our first house, writing a book, and actively posting This Is Where We Begin. My football/single dad AU that I’ve been having SO MUCH FUN WITH.
But of course I have WIPs flooding my folders. There’s about three that I can potentially see being on the next posting schedule. So would love to hear feedback.
This post is my firstprince canon “ish” fic where Henry is blind from a polo accident but the crown refuses for the public eye to know. Falling for Alex was torture enough—now knowing he’ll never see his face again makes him cold against the presidents son. Which causes our always favorite “cake gate.” Without further explanation. 🤭
Alex laid there for one full second.
Henry was on his back beside him.
Cake everywhere — in his hair, across his face, his suit jacket completely white with it, a full tier collapsed across his chest.
He was moving, pushing himself up onto his elbows, but his face—
Alex felt the bottom drop out of everything.
Henry was breathing too fast.
His hands were moving across the floor around him, quick and searching, patting the ground in widening circles, and his eyes were open and moving and not finding anything and his jaw was working and he was trying— Alex could see him trying— to locate himself in a space that had just been completely destroyed —
"Where —" Henry's voice was low but not steady. "What — happened, what —"
The whiskey wasn’t clouding his thoughts anymore, his normal demeanor towards the prince vanished.
Protective instincts flooded his body. From the top of his head to the tips of his toes.
"Henry." Alex was already moving, already up on his knees, already reaching. "Hey. Henry, it's me, it's Alex, you're on the floor, the damn cake fell on us —"
"I can't —" A sharp breath. "I don't know where—how did it —"
"Okay, hey." Alex moved— getting both hands on Henry’s arms. He felt Henry flinch under his palms but relax as Alex squeezed. Grounding him.
"I've got you, okay? You're on the floor, you're fine. We’ll clean you up just—it’s okay. I promise.”
He knew there were cameras. People. Commotion. It was all a buzz in his ears as he zoned in on Henry’s safety.
Henry's hands stopped moving.
His breathing was still too fast.
"Alex." His voice was barely a voice.
