Questa foto è stata scattata all’isola di Mazzorbo, a Venezia un paio di anni fa. Nonostante io ami questa città, in questa isola non c’ero mai stato e onestamente ne ignoravo anche un po’ l’esistenza. Insomma il classico luogo che sai che c’è ma vabbè, da visitare se proprio capita l’occasione. L’occasione mi ricordo che è capitata per caso perché ho preso il battello per Burano coi miei perché quel giorno a Venezia città c’era troppa gente, per sì era deciso di andare in un luogo meno frequentato. Che dire? È stata un’esperienza fantastica, a partire dal viaggio in mezzo alla laguna. L’isola è bellissima, e caratterizzata da questi orti che ti lasciano veramente a bocca aperta per la pace che ti trasmettono e per l’atmosfera d’altri tempi che si respira. Found a super cheap flight to Maui last weekend, so I rented a car and explored the entire island solo. I spent the weekend sleeping in the car, waking up at sunrise, driving the entire coast, photographing, hiking, and eating the local cuisine. I can’t say there have been many other times where I felt this alive in my whole life.
