[ID: A digital painting in pastel colors showing a colorful crowd of different animals holding a Palestinian and Indiginous Australian flags, with text above them that reads, "From the river to the Sea, always was, always will be", with white doves flying next to the flags. A small artist's signature at the bottom reads, "jesterpunk". End ID.]
🕊️ every year in my lifetime, I've seen an ugly blue british flag printed on single use cups and ugly tshirts on January 26th, celebrating stolen land, stolen language and stolen children. this year in particular, I feel the need to make my politics clear through art, as the horrors of colonialism and genocide are mirrored internationally in Palestine. I want to be clear, you do not get to enjoy my art without knowing clearly what my politics are, and you do not get to ignore my politics as an inherent part of my art. no one is free until everyone is free 🖤💛❤️🇵🇸

this post actually broke my heart.
[ID: Tweet by user @bassem__saad: have you thought of how full a room feels when there are two children in it? what does 12,400 children mean?
Quote tweet by user @khadljasays: I think about this poem everyday.
Attached image is a poem by Khaled Juma, a Palestinian poet from Gaza: "Oh rascal children of Gaza. You who constantly disturbed me with your screams under my window. You who filled every morning with rush and chaos. You who broke my vase and stole the lonely flower on my balcony. Come back, and scream as you want and break all the vases. Steal all the flowers. Come back... Just come back..." End ID.]
Boots! In 2022 Brandon Sanderson's art director Isaac Stuart asked me if I could redo an illustration of the scene I made two years prior for the leather bound edition of the Words of Radiance
So I tried for a new framing that would keep or even up the antics of everyone‘s expression, but would feel a bit more cinematic. The horse, of course, was the most difficult one to get to feel right and a lot of it gets swallows by the gutter in print. 😅 And I tried so hard to make it offended by Shallan‘s (loudly uttered) demands. Kaladin’s expressions also took a lot of altering until it sat right. I am very happy with this Tyn. 😁
The crowdfunding campaign for the Edition starts on the 5th of March on Backerkit. It’ll be very pretty with loads of additional art! (There’s also a probability of more art by me in there… 😉)
The ID for the illustration in the book is by the great @priscellie The IDs for the rest is by me

The genuine emancipation of women is one that compels men to give their respect and consideration. Emancipation, like freedom, is not granted, it is conquered. It is for women themselves to put forward their demands and mobilize to win them.

You're worth more than what you can give to other people. You deserve love too.

The past is gone, and cannot harm you anymore. And while the future is fast coming for you, it always flinches first, and settles in as the gentle present. This now, this us, we can cope with that. We can do this together, you and I.

What time is it? Has the boat left? Yes. The boat’s left. The boat’s going on a long, slow trip up the river. Then it’s coming back.
Mikko Harvey
“Many people seem to think it foolish, even superstitious, to believe that the world could still change for the better. And it is true that in winter it is sometimes so bitingly cold that one is tempted to say, ‘What do I care if there is a summer; its warmth is no help to me now.’ Yes, evil often seems to surpass good. But then, in spite of us, and without our permission, there comes at last an end to the bitter frosts. One morning the wind turns, and there is a thaw. And so I must still have hope.”
Vincent Van Gogh
