Bristling by Rob Rogers
From a recent trip to Kew Gardens.
Wakehurst Mansion by Rob Rogers
At Wakehurst, owned by the National Trust, managed by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and home to the Millennium Seed Bank.
Seaview Sea View by Rob Rogers
Seaview is less visited than other locations on the Isle of Wight, so the beach is largely deserted (and clean).
The Union by Rob Rogers
...but for how much longer.
Delicate by Rob Rogers
It’s been a colourful summer, and interesting to contrast my new posts from this year with my old photos.
Wild about Sissinghurst Castle by Rob Rogers
Kent is often referred to as the ‘Garden of England’, and the gardens at Sissinghurst Castle do nothing to suggest that this description is flawed.
Of Times Past by Rob Rogers
Steam railway on the Isle of Wight.
A Quiet Place by Rob Rogers
Taken at Greys Court near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.
At the Sea by Rob Rogers
Another from my day at Dungeness where you get two lighthouses for the price of one and a nuclear power station. Not your typical beach trip.
Fly My Pretty by Rob Rogers
From the butterfly house at Whipsnade Zoo.
Parish Church at Hurley, Berkshire by Rob Rogers
Hurley village is on the River Thames between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow. Parts of the village church date back to the 11th century when it was built and dedicated as a Benedictine Priory.
Rapture by Rob Rogers
Taken at Ventnor Botanic Garden on the Isle of Wight.
Quarr Abbey Meditation by Rob Rogers
An abbey had existed on this site since the early 12th century, but was mostly demolished following the dissolution of the monasteries in 1536. The modern abbey was completed in 1912 and currently less than a dozen Benedictine monks reside and maintain the monastery’s life and the attached farm.
Sifting by Rob Rogers
Taken at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
The Road to Ryde Pier by Rob Rogers
Crossing the Solent from the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth with the town of Ryde and its 19th century pier in the distance
Cliveden in bloom by Rob Rogers
Spring Parterre at Cliveden in Buckinghamshire looking particularly gorgeous
Aged by Rob Rogers
Dungeness is a headland on the coast of Kent and is one of the largest expanses of shingle in Europe. With rising sea levels, many expect the land to be returned to the sea within the next 150 years leaving just the two lighthouses and the 5th and 6th Nuclear Power Stations visible above the waves.
