Hello, pistachio!
assorted macarons.
bisous ciao macarons.new york.ny.
And now, a series of macarons from Bisous Ciao Macarons...little bits of heaven on earth.
elote.carnitas tacos.chips.
choza taqueria.new york.ny.
One of my favorite things is Mexican street corn. Grilled corn, covered in Mexican cheese and spice, maybe with a hint of lime. Mmm, even though it was just a tiny corn butt, it was delicious. The carnitas taco was also delicious, but if someone manages to mess up carnitas, that is a true feat.
radicchio.endive.bread.blue cheese.dried apricots.truffle oil.walnuts.
wall & water.new york.ny.
Loved the little vessel, and really did enjoy the salad. This was pretty much the only vegetarian option at the event, but it was beautiful and the components worked together and had a heartiness, especially with the truffle oil and blue cheese.

brindle room.new york.ny.
The first time we stopped by this booth, they had no plates, so we moved on and said we'd be back. The second time we stopped by this booth, we waited patiently while they served a bunch of other people before they served us...this annoyed me, and to top it off, this was one of my least favorite dishes of the night. It was kind of a salt bomb, with the fritos, and the cheese, and the meat. Neither of us ate it all, but perhaps there are other things at Brindle Room that are delicious, and perhaps they don't run out of plates at the restaurant.
tostada de callo y pulpo.
hecho en dumbo.new york.ny
So, having been to Hecho en Dumbo before, I knew the food was going to pack some flavor, and this little octopus shooter did not disappoint. The octopus was the right amount of chewy, had some nice acidity, and the tortilla chip was a key crunch addition. If it means anything, it was the only thing I came back for seconds for...
lamb slider.
sunburnt calf.new york.ny.
So, this was a little lamb-ier than the Anfora slider. The lamb was shredded, not ground, but it was still tender, and pretty tasty. I didn't like this bun as much either.
lamb ragu slider.parmesan.
anfora.new york.ny.
Not usually a lamb fan, but this was delicious. The bread was soft and chewy and sopped up some of the subtle lamb-y sauce. I'd order it again.
fried chicken.sesame cole slaw.sliced almonds.whole wheat wrap.
hill country chicken.new york.ny.
Hill Country Chicken's mini texas handrolls were tasty where it mattered. The fried chicken maintained its crunch, and was yummy. The cole slaw was a little sweet and a little messy, but the almonds were a lovely touch.
mini beef wiener.sriracha mustard.white bread.
brats: dogs & wieners.new york.ny.
That little bit of snap when you bite into a hot dog is the most satisfying feeling. The wiener was simple, tasty, and the sriracha mustard added a nice zing.
bone-n chicken and red sausage casserole.rice.
baohaus.new york.ny.
This reminded me so much of shoyu chicken, which I often make for myself at home. Big chunks of ginger, tender chicken, slightly sweet, slightly salty. The epitome of comfort food.
