NOTES → Andrea and Santana stay in for the night, watching White Chicks and scooping out gallons of ice cream.
SANTANA LOPEZ
Santana gave a sarcastic smile and a tilt of her head, closing the door behind Andrea and following her back up the stairs to their room. In all honesty, she wasn’t sure if she had any right to call it “theirs”. Apart from sleeping there, Santana stayed as far away from it as possible, determined not to become a lazy couch-dweller. She only really got to know Andy through talking on social networking sites, and it was rare that they were ever in their living space at the same time. When the elevator stopped on their floor, Santana allowed the blonde to walk ahead of her. “Ladies first,” she muttered, raising an eyebrow and sliding her phone into her back pocket. Upon entering the space the four of them shared, Santana realised just how little time she spent there. Even getting ready to watch the movie had taken place in one of her sisters’ rooms. “I should really make an effort to be in here more often,” she admitted, taking a cold glass of wine from Andrea’s hand and settling into a warm spot on the couch.
The movie had barely begun moving past the introduction titles before Andy turned to talk to Santana. As if you actually thought she’d want to watch a movie with you, she thought, kicking herself internally. The cameras are everywhere in this place, I bet she has a cameraman in the closet ready to out you live on MTV. Santana was almost bracing herself for one of the doors to swing open and for Ryan Seacrest to jump out, waving a microphone in her face and demanding that she come out. A year seemed to pass in a few slow-beating heartbeats, and Santana was painfully aware of Andrea’s accusing stare. “I’m not gay,” she blurted out, her voice dry and raspy and cracked. She cleared her throat and tried again. “I’m not… I’m straight. I told you.” Back it up, Lopez. You’re being a little too ‘emotionally-crippled orphan’. She painted a trademark bitch-smirk on her face. “It’s getting kind of old that you feel the need to keep asking, Andy. I mean, I get that you’re into girls, but at some point you have to accept that this isn’t going past friendship.” She took a sip of wine. “It’s a little sad, actually.” There. If there are any cameras in here, they’ll be satisfied. You just wounded some lesbian Barbie’s feelings and they’ll make good ratings out of it. “Besides,” she continued, feeling that no harm could come from playing it up a little. “I thought you were fully aware that I’ve been seeing somebody. But I obviously can’t reveal a name to you.” She shrugged. “I’d trust you to keep it a secret, but there are eyes and ears everywhere in this house.”
ANDREA PIERCE
"Yeah, I could say the same, but I'm here like, all day, 24/7 so." Andrea lifted her arms back, stretching, then setting them both on the couch top, one, coincidentally a top Santana's shoulders-- of course, not on purpose. "Oh, sorry." She lifted her arm up, pulling it down to her side, just like her other one.
Andrea sighed at Santana's answer, standing up, walking towards her room. She picked up a notebook and a pen, scribbling down in her curly cursive writing; "There's no cameras here, San. I made them go away for the night- trust me. You can tell me, you know. I know Big Sean is a Big Beard. I know you're scared-- of the talks, and the looks, and the hateful instagram comments. But it's okay. You don't have to come out now, but just know, it's not all that bad. Everyone is going to love you, just the same. Just know that."
She walked back towards the couch, sitting firmly. "Fine, I'm sad, for trying to be your friend. Yeah, way true." She rolled her eyes, slipping Santana the note. She looked at Santana, mouthing, "read it, okay? Just read it."
Andrea nodded as Santana read along, "yeah," she said, smiling as Santana finished reading it. "Oh, the movie's starting." She giggled softly at the movie playing on the screen. "I love this movie, so much. Have you ever seen it?" Andrea smiled at the girl sitting next to her. "If you haven't, eh, here's to new favorite movies."
