This morning Tim walked over to Ben’s desk with a huge smile on his face. Ben looked up, smiled in turn, and reached out to shake Tim’s hand.

It was the first time I’d seen these two people interact. “What’s going on? Why are you guys touching each other?” I asked.

“Oh, we have the perfect handshake,” Tim said.

“Our hands fit together perfectly,” Ben added.

Tim: “We shake hands once a day.”

Me: “How did you discover this?”

Ben: “We shook when I first started and our hands, like, snapped together.”

Tim: “Most times, you shake someone’s hand, it’s awkward—too loose or too tight, fingers in the wrong place.”

Ben: “With us, it’s like a key in a lock.”

Tim turned to leave.

“Til tomorrow,” Ben called.
