I was working somewhere in the middle of nowhere with a mud road leading to the office. From a distance it looks like it could be a farm, and as i looked ahead at the place i missed a puddle and skidded in the mud.
Whatever way you land, one leg gets trapped, and the ankle gets twisted, because the thing is still moving a little. If I'd been going any faster it would have twisted right round, which is a terrible thought.
For the first time, I'm glad I'm on a smaller 500, instead of the 650, as i was able to lift it off a bit to free myself.
When you stand up you're in pain, and shock for a second, til you compose yourself, then you have to pick the bike up to get going again.
I'm very lucky, landing on soft ground has left me only limping, and that will heal. There might be a bit of ligament damage in the ankle, but it doesn't feel like it. I've had worse at football.
So that's four, in ten and a half years, and although that's not bad, it's still four too many.
I need to get a different licence, and a different type of vehicle.
